Hadn't been to Pancho Villa Mexican Restaurant in Grundy Center for awhile... They added some different items to the menu and updated the booths since we'd been there. They were very busy and the service was spotty but no big complaints as they were doing their best. The place looks nicer and the Burrito Jalisco and Burrito Rex were very good. The steak was tender in both and the Rex version also included chicken, shrimp, and possibly chorizo (I also ordered the Chorizoqueso so I may be getting that wrong as an ingredient in the Burrito)..the Margaritas, chips and salsa were excellent! read more

It's okay. Nothing to write home about, but they are quick. You can sit down and order your food at lunchtime and still make it back to work in 30 mins. The staff is good, but the food is mediocre. read more

Ordered a picadillo burrito. Picadillo here is apparently shredded beef instead of actual picadillo. Service was quick to look at my issue, but all they kept asking was, is this okay? I asked for the menu and realized that their definition of picadillo was different than mine. Decent prices, not really any other choices in the area for the type of food. read more

If you're craving Mexican food--this might be the only place to go! We're visiting from California so expectations are there but not high. This place was excellent for the area. We ordered burritos, tacos nachos...and can say they were all excellent! The blended Margaritas are a win--even for a family member that doesn't even drink!! He loved the mango Margarita. Food came out on HOT plates and could really tell the quality of the food. It was good and hot the spot. Service is SO great--very attentive and so nice! Family speaks Spanish so I think it was nice for the servers to speak Spanish again, haha. They even brought us out some authentic salsa--SPICY. The restaurant is large...clean...and can definitely accommodate a large party. Decorations are colorful. The bar is stacked. Will be coming here again! read more

We rolled into town with our chair. Kid dusk having a long trip from Des Moines across the Prairie City. Iowa. Hungry and tired. We found poncho virus. Poncho wasn't home, but the crew here get a fabulous job. And the food was fantastic. . the fajita trio I recommend strongly and also get a side of Blackened onions and Jalapenos to give it a real kick. read more

Solid Mexican with great service They really work their tail off to take care of the customer! Love the soft tacos chicken is my go to the queso needs a little spice so ask for the "hot salsa" and they will bring you a delicious homemade chipotle salsa that is amazing! Wow! This place was so good! We got the steak fajitas and the portions were huge. The steak was fresh and tasty. Our children got the kids meals which also were good portion sized and they enjoyed them. Highly recommend this place if your in the area and looking for some good Mexican food. read more

Best place for Mexican food. The margaritas are a must to order; raspberry or strawberry. The queso dip and guac are also additions we order every time. Family always order shrimp, burger, chicken tacos, and beef espresso burrito. Salsa is not typical recipe but still ok. read more

We have been to Pancho Villa many times over the last 18 months. They have came a long way in that time. For the last year, every time we have gone our food and service has been excellent. If you tell them you are in a hurry they will do everything possible to get you in and out quickly. My wife usually gets the California burrito and it is massive. I love the julianitas with steak. Usually we have enough for leftovers the next day. We will continue to keep coming back for more. read more

Was excited to have more variety in town but this place left me disappointed. First time visiting I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was very over cooked with no flavor but a burnt taste. Worst quesadilla I'd ever had. Second time I got the fajitas which were average. The people are polite and quick to refill your drink but the food is lacking. i give it a 4.5 but i cant do that here so i decided to put a 5 for yelp anyways on to the criticisms. the food and service were great the way they present the food on the plate is professional and gives the food greater taste cause it looks like it is from high end Gordon Ramsey would eat here whenever he wanted Mexican food restaurant. the service is nice and kind food came out rather quick but didn't look look under cooked but that might just be due to what we ordered. the portions were nice and large and made the plate look small in comparison to what was on it which makes each color pop and enhance the flavor more. the salsa is mild and has good flavor and has enough diced tomatoes, and onions that it is perfect to scoop onto your chips. anyways that is my review of this fine establishment i will give this place another review in a few years. read more

We have been here several times. We are always seated immediately. Our order was taken in a very timely manner and the food was ready in a short time. I have never had bad food, always good and plated nicely. However, last night was the first time I was disappointed in their service. Once we had our food, we never had anyone stop and ask if we needed anything else, I needed more napkins and even tried to wave someone over. I made do with one. When we were done, we both needed to-go boxes. After waiting nearly 10 minutes, my husband got up and got them. Time to pay, no one around. I went outside and my husband stood at the unattended cash register until someone noticed him. For a Friday night they were NOT terribly busy. read more
