Did not have any fajitas without pineapple I'm not saying that it doesn't taste good. It's just that I'm not used to that. It must be one of their unique dish ingredients.. the service was good. The chips and salsa were good but we still have the same problem with the pricing. Oh my God do not buy a soft drink or a tea, etc. from them they want four dollars for a soda, which is the cheapest food item that they pay for in their overhead and with only two refills allowed seems a little stingy and they're trying to make some money off of that obviously so the best bet is just to have some water and by the way, the cheapest fajitas on the menu or $20. I'm not from around here. I'm visiting so I'm thinking that there must be a lot of rich people in this area to be spending these high prices at these local restaurants. read more

What a cool spot in the Cedar Valley. Friendly staff that is fast and present often. Wide range of fun and traditional drinks. I got a duck in my 57 oz Duck Pond Margarita lol. My wife's Margarita was full of yummy candies. Food came out fast, fresh, and tasting great. There's a bit of hustle ambience all around but they also don't mind if you slowly enjoy your meal and drinks. A wonderful Mexican restaurant to dine in. read more

Normally a great experience, ...but not yesterday. A friend and I needed to order carry out for our families. My friend placed first order at the checkin desk, but the waiter put me on hold while he left and did other things. Approximately 10-minutes before he came back and took my order. First order was fine in two paper bags, but mine came 10-15 minutes later. I finally asked about my order and they brought me a plastic bag tied in a knot. First order was getting cold so I didn't rip it open to check my order. Got home, all meals cold, first order accurate but my order must have been someone else's. Nothing we ordered!! Granted they were busy, so always check your to-go order. read more

I ordered the steak asada to-go as I was leaving for the airport. I did not look at my order until I got to the airport. I only had steak, no beans and rice and not a single tortilla. The steak was good but I was upset since I had NOTHING else that was supposed to be included. I messaged them to inform them of the oversight and have yet to receive a response. read more

pretty nice authentic Mexican restaurant! Service was super quick, food was great, and our server was very friendly! I ordered two side enchiladas. Chicken and ground beef. The chicken was definitely better than the beef. Next time I'll try the shredded beef. Filling portions of foods for a good price. Two enchiladas was $6. We sat outside on the patio, it was nice. There are about five tables out there seating four people each. We had a drive ahead of us but the pina colada looked super good. Maybe next time!! read more

My best friend and I use to love coming here... until last night. The male staff in the kitchen were watching me almost the entire time I ate my meal, they even were waving at me and smiling. When we got our bill and brought this to the attention of our (also male) server he said it was our fault for looking the way we do... and even said he hopes we come back. Food good. But deceptive on the carry out if you pick it up. Add on 3.99 percent to the bill with a credit card...in the fine print at the bottom of receipt. Add on gratuity by them (no choice for you) if over a certain amount on carry out. And small add on's for anything extra at all that is in the order for carry out. They didn't carry out MY 250 dollar order. I did. They didn't deliver it. I did. But added on the gratuity regardless. I won't do this again for any customers. Too many things hidden in that receipt for the amount of money I spent. There are better places for service and the customer than here. read more

Chilito's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Waterloo area. Everything tastes so good. I always order fajitas or the fajitas tacos. The portions are large, so I have leftovers to take home, or sometimes my husband and I will share a meal. Rice and beans come with most meals and are so good. Their margaritas are delicious, but potent - so watch out :) If you go there on your birthday - you get a shot of top shelf tequilla and they take your picture and sing to you. It's so much fun! We've been doing take out during Covid - although they are open for dine in. It's always fast service and orders are always accurate. I highly recommend this place. read more

Dined here with my family. The service was extremely efficient the employees were polite and friendly. A very large menu with all the Mexican Staples. Great specials throughout the course of the week, full bar. Our food was good everybody enjoyed what they ordered. My only complaint I didn't care for the chips and salsa. It's a Mexican restaurant that's a pretty big complaint. They use baked chips. The salsa is puréed like what you would find at Taco Bell in the packets. read more

I've wanted to try this restaurant for awhile. I was quite surprised how nice it was inside. It still resembles a Fazolis on the outside and by the layout. But it has been completely redecorated inside and painted outside. The first thing I noticed- the place was spotless inside. Very well maintained. We had very good service. We came for lunch. I had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. It was good. My dad had a humungous seafood burrito. It could have fed 2 persons easily. My son had a combo with 2 tacos, rice and beans. I was super impressed that they got the directions right when I asked for only meat in his tacos. No lettuce or cheese. Other establishments seem to have trouble not adding additional toppings. But I couldn't figure out why he took 1 bite and didn't eat anymore of his tacos. He ate the rice and beans fine. Then I tried a little if his taco. The beef filling was so incredibly salty it was almost inedible. Good thing he got full enough with the sides and chips. We were in and out quickly. I was impressed with my meal but would hesitate going again if the taco meat was regularly that salty. read more

Again on the search for good Mexican food since moving from California and we still haven't found a good place. We tried this one out and again we didn't get what we expected with the great reviews that they have. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't something we would come back for. I ordered chili rellenos and they were dripping oil. My other half ordered a burrito and enjoyed it for the most part. The service wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. Ate here when it first opened with our 8 year old and toddler and had slow service with an inattentive waitress who didn't keep our drinks full and didn't ever check back. Decided to give it another try a few weeks ago with just my husband and had the same crappy server. We were one of maybe 4 tables. There were 2 other servers who weren't doing anything and apparently couldn't be bothered to notice our empty drinks. Our drinks sat empty for quite a long time. The chips and salsa are average and the quest is very velveeta-ish. Underwhelming. Our entrees were big portions and tasted pretty good- so there's that. The thing that makes this place suck is the crap service. It's really, really bad. Will not return. read more

I visited Chilito's today with my grandma for the first time and I was impressed. The food was very good. I got the Chimichanga and my grandma ordered the lunch chicken fajitas. Mine was great, but they only gave my grandma six skinny pieces of chicken on top of a mountain of peppers and vegetables, it should come with more chicken and bigger tortillas. The salsa was great. But that was about it. These type of places are designed for maximum profit. The larger the margarita the more water or mix. The portion of actual ingredients in a enchilada are extremely small, mostly filled with onion. And yet this place is packed all the time. Why can't someone serve a real drink and real food.
