I'm a Doordasher and I get orders from this Pancho's in Independence all the time. A lot of the orders were to be delivered from 25-35 minutes away. I had never tried the food until tonight. This place is horrible my friend got food poisoning from the beef taco. I ate a bite of the chicken taco not too bad the meat was good even though it was very greasy and spicy. The red salsa was spoiled couldn't eat it at all. My friend said the guacamole was like the consistency of melted ice cream very watered down, even though there is no water in guacamole. I ate half of a tamale that again was very greasy. Needless to say stop at Taco Bell cheaper and much better food. I forgot to add that the prices were in the range of an upscale Mexican restaurant. This is my first time buying anything from this restaurant . Very easy to order they have a large selection the whole menu board is at the drive-thru speaker area . I ordered a number four which included a bean tostada in an enchilada for $11.99. Before our conversation was over I asked that both the tostada and the enchilada, be Chicken. When I got to the pay window he asked me for $26.37 . I said my order was only $11.99. He was totally confused ask me if I ordered some platter I said no I ordered a number four for $11.99 . So he got the pay figured out I owed him 13 and tax . Then I had to wait for about 2 more minutes because they had prepared something else that I supposedly had ordered but I didn't so they had to make my order while I'm sitting at the pay window I understand that . But when I got home both my tostada and my enchilada were Bean I asked for chicken both were being they were disgusting I will never buy food there again . My husband had some of their food, and convinced me to go. The service was fantastic. Very friendly!!! The prices were a bit high, but they do pile on the food. I had tacos, and was very disappointed by the lack of flavor. It was filled with a lot of ground beef, but it was dry and flavorless. The beans and rice were quite good though. My husband had a beef and jalapeno dish, and it was tasty. Now here is the reason for my rating. The dining room was beyond disgusting. The chairs very sticky, and the chair next to me was covered in black dusty grime. Thick nasty grime. Evidence to the fact that it has not been cleaned in a LONG time. The benches have rips, and tears, and you can see the dirty grime where the padding meets the plastic seat. The floor was sticky, and littered. If my hubby were not so happy with his food, I would have left. Never in my life have I seen a restaurant dining area so truly disgustingly nasty. How can they not see this HUGE elephant in the room. How can a restaurant serve good food, have great service, and be so filthy all in one. Panoch's you need to get your act together. Your dining room is a disgrace, and costing you customers. OH, and I do want to mention that their drink machine, and ice machine was clean. I am very sensitive to mold, and can smell it right away. This was not the case. My tea and ice was just fine. Pleasantly surprised. Clean restaurant and food is good. My torta was the size of the plate! It came with fresh veggies and salsa too. It's a converted Taco Bell so it doesn't look impressive. It's not fancy. But the food is good. Think local fast food Mexican well done. I will repeat. read more

I've been to the Pancho's in Blue Springs more times than I can count and also to the one on Main street a handful of times. I'm happy to say that the food here is just as delicious. May I suggest a new location up North? Cheap, fast Mexican food for late night cravings. I don't even go to Taco Hell when I know there's a Pancho's. I've tried their chimichangas, tacos, and steak fries -- but their burritos is where it's at! The California and Texano are my two favorites depending on whether I want steak or chicken. They give you two amazing sauces that are to die for, but you have to ask for the spicy avocado (in the drive through). Trifecta of sauces! We ordered two burritos. I ordered a carnitas burrito and it came with carnitas and pico. No lettuce, cheese, sour cream, onions, salsa, etc. I expected it to come with more traditional burrito fillings, but maybe that's my mistake. The bigger problem was that I could only get through a few bites because the chunks of meat were huge and completely unseasoned. My boyfriend ordered the "California" burrito I believe, which came with steak, potatoes, onions, cheese, and mayo. Aside from once again lacking any seasoning whatsoever, the onions were raw. I love the Panchos downtown! Their carnitas burritos are lean, shredded* and full of meat. The Independence location's are terrible. The meat is in big chunks, not shredded, it's very very fatty.. some of the chunks are all fat. And this time there was maybe a half cup of meat with a full cup or more of Pico in my burrito. I'm afraid the Coronavirus has taken its toll on this place too. I used to eat here from time to time for its shrimp chimichangas, but Sunday afternoon when I bought one through the drive thru, not only had the price gone up, but the food quality had gone way down. This dish used to come with rice & beans for a bit over $9. Not anymore. I paid $10.38 including tax, and it looked good in the box, with a nice bit of shredded lettuce and pico off to the side and some guacamole on top. But inside it was a soggy mess, and was absolutely filled with onions! True, there were about five shrimp inside. But all you could taste were the onions (they must've used three for my chimichanga) and tomatoes. Some of the tomatoes weren't even chopped, just an entire slice. And the soupy sauce could have come out of a can. Not good at all. I'm never going to get the taste of all those onions out of my mouth. read more

I have been here a few times. The first two times I got the rolled tacos with beans and rice also cheese dip. The rolled tacos were good and the beans were smooth with a smoky flavor. The cheese dip was good,and spicy. The next time I ordered a enchilada combo and when I got home, I had received chorizo and eggs. Due to time constraints, I did not return the food, just pitched it. Haven't gone for a while, but went today. Ordered a smothered burrito panchos special, but got a shredded beef burrito. My grandson was with me and said it was fine. I got a clinicians combo for myself. These are made with huge tortillas but not much meat in it. It was fried, but there was guacamole, pic I degio, sour cream in such an amount that the thing was a chewy doughy mess. The beef inside had a sour taste. If you go through the drive thru, the food takes a little while. But it's not taco bell, it's actual Mexican food so it takes a little time to prepare. The add ins were pretty pricey considering the original burrito was $5 and some change. $1 each for rice and beans, $1.75 for guacamole. For my last visit (and I do mean LAST), I would give this place ZERO stars if I was able to. They used to be good at the location over in KC, YEARS ago, so imagine my delight when they slapped up a new one here in Independence!! I usually hit the drive thru for their steak & egg burrito for breakfast, and have to admit those are STILL pretty damn good every time I get one, but this LAST time I went I ordered the 3-pack of crunchy, regular beef tacos to change it up a bit. I was SO thoroughly disgusted after I got them home, because: A) I kid you not.... I needed a sledgehammer to even BEGIN to get thru the shells with my teeth. (I gave up quickly) B) The "meat" looked like something that was scraped off the bottom of my shoe from a dog park! I literally pulled the entire insides out of one taco... in ONE PIECE! I held it up delicately between the tips of my thumb and forefinger, and the thing didn't budge. Looked like a wadded up, deep fried hairball! It was super BAD!! I usually don't write reviews on this site but thought I would warn others to steer clear of those tacos. Yes... I COULD have taken them back for a refund or replacement like the sign so brazenly displays on the drive-up window, and the girl told me I could when I called her, and quite frankly... I put the tacos in a zipper bag and tossed them in my fridge along with the receipt TO take back, although it was right during a move to a new residence and an illness, and ultimately I just tossed them in the trash. I had a combination plate. Prices were average to higher than average for fast food Mexican. The taco shell on my taco was a bit greasy (it was deep fried) but the shredded beef in the taco was great! The beans were a bit runny but had good flavor. The overall portions were decent sized. I left satisfied, not wanting more. Their soda fountain is less than desirable though, all their sodas tasted flat. We ended up just drinking water. The dining room was clean, however there is very limited seating (this used to be a Taco Bell before they started making the stores larger) and the tables and booths that are there are very old...some of them aren't even bolted to the floor. Four stars. Quality service. Always greeted with a smile, making small talk with the employees there is great. I have had my fair share of authentic Mexican food. A lot of their menu is just that. Really good meat and I love their green sauce. I typically stay away from Mexican restaurants such as this one, however it is safe to say the food is good. Though it can be a bit greasy, it is always cooked well and in big portions. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is because of the store, which 2 out of the 5 times I've been there was pretty dirty. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could.
