I eat here often and love how fast and polite the employees are. Also restaurant is maintained well and always clean when I go.

Food is good, but I feel like we are herded like cattle. No smiles, cutting us off in between our sentences.. this has happened multiple times with Leila. I understand if it's busy that the worker would want to hurry things up, but even when it was slow we received the same treatment. They get 3 stars simply for the food, it's good, when it's available. The service is slow. There is only one person cooking and today there were 5 empty dishes on the heating table. I asked how long the wait would be for a dish and was told 4 minutes. 10 minutes later I was still waiting, along with 3 other customers who were waiting for their own dishes. If this was an isolated event I wouldn't say anything, but this scenario or one very similar happens every time. No exaggeration. The management does not seem to notice the unhappy faces waiting because not a word was mentioned to anyone waiting. No apology or even an offer if a free small beverage while we waited. Super slow service!!!!!! All employees appear to be 16 years old with no sense of urgency. I'm pretty sure it would be much quicker to just drive to Panda Express in Gilroy and order food and drive back, than it would be to wait in line here. The Hollister Panda is the worst Panda restaurant I have been to in 30 years. I have now given this location 10 tries since it opened and what I have discovered is both the food (horrible) and the service have gone down hill (it wasn't good to begin with). Today's visit will be my last. Asked for brown rice, they didn't have any because "the guys from last night didn't leave us any and it takes a really long time to cook. They only left us enough to make one small batch of fried rice." So much for the concept of fresh food. Commerical rice steamers take under 30 minutes to cook up to 100 cups (cooked) of rice. I was at the restaurant about 11:50am, the restaurant opens at 11:00am, the prep and morning crew (according to the server) arrive at 10:30am. It certainly seems like they had more than enough time to cook rice. The rest of the entree items, sweet fire chicken and surf and turf were completely unedible, except for 2 pieces of pineapple, 2 of red bell pepper and the lone shrimp in the surf and turf. The "turf" was almost black on the outside, totally overdone, too tough to chew and swimming in sauce and oil. The sweet fire chicken was hard as a rock. I even showed a co-worker by finally getting a fork through it and thumping it against the plate. The chow mein was very oily; the left-over brown rice fried rice was at least edible. The diet pepsi and the fortune cookie almost saved the day, but not quite. Needless to say I will not be going back to this location. It is actually easier to drive to Gilroy, even during lunch time, to get Panda than it is to try to deal with the food and service at the Hollister location. read more

Food is consistently good, but the staff is also consistently rude at night. Girl tonight was sarcastic and short. They started closing the restaurant an hour and a half early, and were openly bitter about requesting items that were out. Again, an hour and a half before closing. Didn't ask if we wanted our food for here or to go, just blocked off all the seating and handed us our food in a bag, with an "ok, get out of here now" look. Another couple came in after us, and the girl behind the counter slammed the pan in her hands onto the warmer, and told them this is all we have. No hello, no greeting, just rudeness. Worst panda I've ever been too. Unfortunately my bf and I love panda so we are here often. Horrible customer service, the workers seem miserable and are rude. Not to mention they are extremely stingy with the portions as if it came out of their pockets. I've been to too many pandas to not notice when they aren't good in keeping up with what food needs to be made so when it comes to the last bit of 10 orange chickens they only give 5 to be enough for the next customer. COME ON, I'm a paying customer, clock in, smile, WORK, clock out, go home, be happy. It's my first and last time coming here. There was not enough food. We came in at noon an it's hard to believe that they were already out of orange chicken, string bean chicken, and mushroom chicken!!! We got 3 plates and we each had to wait for an item to be replenished! When we finally got our food, my string bean chicken had 4 measly pieces of chicken and a whole bunch of half way cooked green beans. My husbands mushroom chicken had very little chicken as well...I have never had this experience at other Panda Express! To top it off, their soda machine was "not working" so we had to get bottled soda that was not cold so we were handed cups to get ice with our bottled soda! After seeing how they do things here, I would not be surprised if their soda machine was "not working" because they had not refilled the machines or because they want to charge customers more for their bottled sodas! Its 9 pm and this place does not close till 10.. they look like they are closing we ask for food to be made they refuse. Not much of a selection when you walk in. If thats the case i say you close this joint at 9pm instead of ten. All the tables are blocked off. Bad service if you ask me! First off, ladies are becoming more and more rude each time with no enthusiasm shown towards their work. They are always out of the entrees I ask for, so I end up having to wait for the food. I wait for the food and ask for another side of that and they only fill the little entree box half way! They do not give the correct amount of food so you are paying more than what you are getting. Sometimes they even forget to put the teriyaki sauce. Lastly, I really like their potstickers but sometimes they are really old, hard, and taste like really rancid oil. read more

This is the absolute worst Panda Express location! The food is never ready and there is always a line that seems to never move. The staff is rude and often times can't hear you over the line. Last time I went the lady put the wrong side in my order and then passed it on to the next person to finish off my order. I had to basically argue with the girl to get them to swap out the side for what I had originally asked for. Overall my last experience was a 22 minute ordeal that rendered cold Chinese food and poor customer service. My family and I have enjoyed Panda Express each and every time we've gone there! We tried the online order and it was fabulous!! Tonight, though, we are severely disappointed in the service of this restaurant! I placed an online order and was told to pick up at 5:06! My husband went to pick up our meal at the time appointed but found out that our order had not been pulled!! As he waited he was informed that they were out of one of our items and had to choose another. He continued to wait and was offered a drink. When he called me to complain, I asked if he talked to a manager! He stated that the manager was the one to offer the drink and then went on her break leaving him standing there feeling unsatisfactory!!! Now, I ask, how does a busy restaurant run out of shrimp on a Friday before a weekend? Also, how does someone not see our online order and not pull it so it's ready by the stated time? How does a manager go on break and not take care about an upset customer? And how do you make someone wait for their food that should have been pulled and ready when they walk in? Waiting for almost 30 minutes is unacceptable!!! Our order was taken at 4:40!! My husband left at 5:30!!! On top of this, we had to heat up our food in order to eat it!!! I can guarantee we won't be back for a long time!! And I would suggest others to think twice about going there!!! Good food. Horrible, horrible service. In the amount of time it takes to place your order here, I could drive to Gilroy for much better service. Typical past experiences consist of long lines, one person working the entire buffet and one cashier. Always short on food causing a back up. Average time from the moment I walk in and leave is about twenty minutes. Last time I went and this will be the last time, typical line and short handed. However this was the icing on the cake. One of the preps wanted to go on break causing the guy, the only guy working the buffet to start to argue with him in front of everyone. Meanwhile two other employees are laughing at this. As the guy starts to take my order, he walks away from me in mid sentence to go argue with the guy some more. Needless to say I'm pissed and feel like walking out. But I've waited this long, so might as well get it. I see I'm not the only customer who has the same issues here. I am a fan of chinese food. In fact. I do love it. Although, i have never been to a panda express where the line goes out the door and people still wait. Due to the fact that the food is usually delicious at a panda express i dont mind waiting. At this particular panda i was enthused at the fact that the line was so long. I figured, hey the food must be great here. what i have found is that the majority of the food is gone by the time you get inside. Do these lazy humans that work here not realize that people are hungry around 5 p.m??? Have hey not realized after being open for so many months that there will be a rush hour? I have been to many panda express's and they always have delicous fresh yumyums up and ready. The hollister panda has two hr old veggies and other foods just sitting, baking and festering in its own juices. I went there today for the first time in a month or two. Hoping they would have taken their heads out of their you know whats by now. Huge negative on the evac scenario! It took about twenty minutes to even order food. A big family of obese people came in with burger king and mcdonalds and sat down to eat their food. They took three boothes. By the time we finally got to the ordering area. There was pretty muh nohing to even order. The veggies looked disgusting. FDA should maybe pay a visit. The black pepper chicken was burnt and black and clearly no one had an interest in refreshing it. There was a scoop of kung poa chicken left. The chow meng was on its last leg and the rice was dryer than a skeleton in the sahara desert sun. I have never seen a server at a panda actually take food off of the to go box because they felt they were giving the customer too much! If you enjoy mediocraty and terrible service while watching a group of fat people enjoy burger king while the manager laughs and doesnt care about them wasting the space that actual customers should be using. Then this is the pace for you. A nice place where the food may give you food poisoning from sitting for hrs or food that doesnt exist because the chefs are too busy not being anywhere in sight. From now on. I am going to gilroy for panda. The owner of the hollister panda express should re-think his/her staff or maybe sell this franchise to a human that cares about customers read more
