We've tried both local spots in the Hollister area and this one by far is the chosen one for us. The broth to the Pho' is very tasty, nice and hot, and definitely hits the spot. We also tried the egg rolls and the chicken sandwich which were very delicious. Not only is the food good but the customer service from the gentleman there is very good. Very attentive and it's nice to see they have somebody coming out to clean the tables right away so they're available for the next guests. Went in around 8:30 pm on Sunday. Place was not busy, a few tables were occupied, but most were open. We took the table towards the back but we asked they clean it since it was still dirty from the other party. The gentleman came in fairly quickly to wipe it down and leave us three menus. Typical Pho place, lots of pics and you basically choose two sizes. We opted for the seafood & chicken. Which is a little odd pairing, my wife took the shrimp out of her bowl. In ordered the stir fry steak with veggies and rice plate. My food came out pretty quickly - 15 min? But my wife and son waited for their pho for at least 25min!? We thought isn't the broth ready ? A little too long to wait for PHO. It was odd...but nevertheless we waited without saying anything. Once it came, it tasted ok. We all thought this was mid for what you pay. It wasn't cheap. No one greeted us. We just asked some folks and they said to just sit down. They finally took our order. The menu read steak noodle and combination. We ordered 3 of those, another soup, and some chicken wings. Only 2 soups came and the the chicken wing. After I realized all these other tables were getting their food and not ours, we asked. I have to be honest and say I wasn't impressed by the cleanliness of this restaurant but their pho was amazing! Some of the best broth I've ever had, didn't need hoisin or hot sauce at all. The employees were so funny, super engaging, and just great at their jobs. I thought the price of their pho was really fair or average, but their appetizer pricing was higher than I expected. In my continuing quest to find the best Hollister lunch spots, I went to Super Noodles on Meridian across from the Lucky store. The plant is small--9 seating spots and the décor suggests that it was once another eatery, perhaps a donut shop. When many restaurants have odd Covid impacted hours and strange days closings, Super Noodle is open 7 days a week and does not close in the afternoon making it a good stop for a late lunch. With a large menu, Super Noodle offers a wide variety of Vietnamese food from sandwiches, rice plates, spring rolls, and pho. A steady stream of customers mainly seems interested in the pho and I found it OK, though with dietary restrictions, I am not a big fan of the carbs in noodles. Service is competent and pleasant; food arrives hot and quickly. All these things are a huge positive in the day and age of poor service. Lately I have been ordering one of many rice plates. The cooked to order plates includes a healthy serving of properly cooked vegetables. Prices are moderate. This is a good place and I find myself there at least once a week. I love to eat spring rolls they are my favorite thing there and the craziest part is the peanut butter dip tripped with Suraci all over. It is so good I know it sounds gross but it is so worth it. My husband & I love coming here to eat. The restaurant isn't that big, but every time we've come here - almost every seat is usually filled. The owner is super friendly & service is quick. We got our food within 10 mins of sitting down. They do get a good amount of takeout orders as well - during the time we were eating there, at least 5 people came in to pick up their orders. When I ordered the combination beef pho, the guy did not ask which size I wanted. He charged me for a large, so I'm guessing I got a large. There were bottles of sriracha, hoisin, and soy sauce on the table, but no chili oil (would've been nice). Big bowl of soup, plenty of noodles, veggies, and meat. I felt the broth lacked flavor, though. In my previous (and first) visit months ago: indoor dining was still not allowed, they had 2 tables set up outside. Same guy, assumed it was to-go and the meal was packaged accordingly, with separate containers for the different components. It was pretty sad sitting there trying to put noodles and toppings into the very full, tall broth container a little at a time, eating it, and adding more. He did notice when I was about halfway done and apologetically offered to put it all in a bowl, but by that point there was enough room in the broth container that I'd put the remainder of the noodles and stuff in. Kudos to him for noticing and offering. In that same visit, I'd also gotten a taro boba. That was hands down the worst boba I've ever had in my life. Absolutely terrible. Had to ask for our drinks 2x and we orderd spring rolls 2 for $8.99 and 4 for $15.99 when we got our spring rolls it was 1 spring roll cut in 1/2 what the hell i thought that was a mistake so i asked the server and he said thats how they come.
