This is a nice, small, quiet, peaceful, and well maintained mall.  It is an L shaped mall that has…read moreplenty of close parking and it's largely occupied by medical related offices and a dentist, but there's also the high quality Minelli Deli.  They have a nice and relaxed inside eating area also.  Recently, Anytime Fitness joined the mall roster.  Admittedly most of my visits here have been related to medical followups but occasionally we visit Minelli Deli and the Jewel that is at one end of the mall.  There is also a Starbucks coming to the corner of the parking lot right by the Oakton St and Milwaukee Ave intersection.  I don't know if the Starbucks will technically be part of Oak Mill mall but whatever.  I always thought whoever the mall manager is, they do a nice job on appearance, maintenance, and upkeep here.  I like that because I pass by this place fairly frequently and it's a lot better seeing something well maintained and attractive rather than rundown.

I was surprised that it wasn't contained inside a store, but actually took a large amount of space off to the side. They had a great selection of stickers, greeting cards, stationery, notebooks, writing tools, backpacks, cases for technology, and plushies. Prices were reasonable, considering these are imported goods. Staff is very kind and friendly, and they allow you to peruse at your heart's leisure. Small selection to choose from, sad to see because when I was a kid, Golf Mill mall was popping and had a ton of stores to go to. This place is a hoot!  I dropped in here after a nearby lunch just to see what this place was like…read moreafter seeing a review, and having never been in their predecessor Chicago store of some 25 years on the northwest side of Chicago.  This store has been in Uptown Park Ridge for only about a year now, and for being on a busy commercial strip, they keep a low and quiet profile and are kind of easy to pass by and skip, because that's what I did for a year apparently! I was going to rate the store 4 stars, but I gotta give it 5 just because it's really a one of a kind shop.  They have all kinds of eclectic, random, fun, goofy, and also educational stuff and gadgets.  It's all supposed to have a bias towards science and education though.  Random things like military helmets, plastic wheels of various sizes, telescopes, microscopes, old typewriters, a Big Foot crossing sign, beakers and flasks, science kits, goofy models, toys, and trinklets, rubber mice, plastic ants for your next picnic, and whatever.  It's a great store for getting that unique geeky gift for someone, and also a place where inquisitive kids and adults alike can putz around and learn and laugh as well. They have their own convenient parking lot.  Their only other stores are in spread-out Geneva IL and Milwaukee WI.  Their prices ranged from cheap to modest from what I saw. I came her with the intention of finding a flashy brooch and I got more than that! The absolute perfect brooch that is silver with a touch of gold and it's a rose- my signature piece. I also found a unique bolo tie for my brother in law. A perfect complement to his Blantons (other Christmas gift). I also got myself one and it's a horse- perfect for my for personal nickname reasons. Service was also attentive and very helpful. Gurl was I impressed by the stock! There is plenty to go through where it can get overwhelming. I would take your time being here due to the seemingly limitless supply of fun and unique items. Their clothing and accessories are expertly curated, fun and fashionable. Most items price around the 20-30s with some items going for more or less than that. I was able to find a cute brooch, a pearl necklace, a scarf and colorful beaded bib necklace for under $100. Parking is shared within a small strip mall and you'll need to ring the doorbell for entry. The owner Jules is a doll and greeted me at the entrance. She recognized that this was my first visit and she helped me navigate through the store. She also found expert sales associates to assist in finding particular items. You are given a small plastic dish to place items in and when you're ready to get rung up, take the dish to the counter and they will bag/box your items for you. Hours of operation are a little odd however I've attached pictures of their current hours. Call ahead before going to make sure they are open.

It's also a bright, airy, and clean store. It's mostly women customers and I have a feeling they know there are some good deals here, and I agree from what I've seen. I don't personally always buy much of anything, but if the timing were right, I've seen some pretty good values on items like socks, luggage, clothing, local sports team wear, household or kitchen knick-knacks, and even coffee if it's on on sale. I'd say it's a good place to drop in on occasionally and putz around and find items you didn't know you needed and at a good price.
