The gelato is everything! They have so many flavors and the friendly staff will let you try them so you can decide for yourself what you like. I had the cherry this past visit it was so delicious. They also have a variety of baked good the tres lychee cake is so moist and delicious! I love when you have friendly staff member who doesn't mind letting you sample. Sandwiches are decent but service is horrible. Worker would hardly acknowledge us. Charged us $80 for two sandwiches and three waters. When my husband asked it to be fixed, she gave no apology and just slapped a $20 on the counter. This person should not be working in a service capacity. We went there twice, one for ice cream. They have a selection of roughly 12 flavors, I took pistachio and stracciatella and I must say that the last was my favorite. I was going for the large size but the person serving me advice it was very big, I followed his advice and he was right. The medium size is already plenty. We also went for breakfast, they have nice panini sandwich that are quite large. Ask them toasted which makes them way better. They also have espresso drinks, so the beans aren't the best but it's still fine. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. Outdoor might be a bit noisy because it's right by the road. So happy to find this cute little Italian café! I was on the hunt for a cappuccino when I came in and changed my mind at the last minute when I saw they had affogatos. You can pick a scoop any of their flavors of gelato topped with their espresso. I chose the coconut and it was so good! Honestly a magical moment. This shop has a really cool atmosphere and the coffee is solid, but my recent visit during a holiday week was disappointing. The place was severely understaffed with only one person working the entire floor. I felt terrible for her; she was working hard, but with a massive line of people, she couldn't keep up. As a result, the tables and floors were quite dirty. Lauderdale and I had been eyeballing this place bc it looked like it had delicious pastries each time we passed by during our stay. I am so glad I ventured out to them on our last night. Also, many times it's way too acidic and not potent enough. Or just horrible. Well. Pan'e Dolci was far from it. It felt like ordering coffee in a "bar" in Italy. Absolutely NOT disappointed. They use only Lavazza and your last sip stays with you. The pasties were absolutely amazing. Huge fan of the nutella croissant. SOOO good. Yes, they do use real nutella. Not like some fakers that will mix it with cream. Or use chocolate and call it nutella lol. There's also bread ciabatta style, rustic, to purchase to take home. You can even take a panino ("sub" with their homemade bread) to the beach. The sfogliatella is a true dream. Delicate, crispy, thin, airy and very crunchy. Ricotta filling is very rich and delicate. This coffee spot and pastry heaven is to die for. If you're in the area come by for a quick cappuccino and chocolate croissant and hit the beach afterwards. There's also gelato! I was around the corner at a church tag sale and decided to walk down to the beach after. As I made my way down I couldn't help but notice a large group of bicycle riders gathered at the entrance of this gorgeous Italian bakery. On my way back the crowd had cleared out and after glancing at the bakery cases I had to come in. Pan'e Dolci specializes in gelato, baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee drinks. They have everything that makes up my dream breakfast and it all looked so good. After looking around I finally decided on the prosciutto panini, a small cannoli, and a cappuccino. You order at the counter and then you can eat in their elegant dining room or outside at a few tables on the sidewalk. The toasted panini was so delicious with the salty prosciutto, creamy melty cheese, and meaty tomato served on a crusty bread. The cappuccino was also artfully made with a thick foam topping. The only thing I didn't care for was the cannoli with its soft shell. I think I will stick with my favorite place that pipes it fresh in front of you. The cases were filled with other treats like the fruit topped pastries that I would try next time. Also on my list for next time was the beautifully presented gelatos adorned with fresh fruit, nuts, and cookies. I have since learned that Pan'e Dolci has another location on Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale. The lady that helped me here was as sweet as their pastries. It was a real treat to stop in. They have a sign on the counter that states you will forget about the price when you taste the quality. Guess what people remember more than quality? Rude service on top of obnoxious prices. Staff should be providing service with a smile, not like they are doing you a favor. The Pastries aren't worth the insulting prices along with the rude service. Take a stand people and avoid establishment that are ripping you off and being rude at the same time. I don't mind paying obnoxious prices if the staff serves you with kindness and a smile. It's been a while since I've reviewed a place. Life happened. Actually today is my first outing since July. I wouldn't even get on a plane right now. But I had to write a nice review on this place. It was a special place for me and someone I use to know since we would come here for the coffee a lot. Good stuff. Today I brought my favorite date. We had a cappuccino which was DELISH!!!!! I've really been pleased with my visits to Pan'e Dolci. It's super clean, super friendly (though the clerks sometimes seem confused), and has a very pleasant atmosphere about it. Matter of fact it really is very much like some of the little corner pastry shops I've known in Italy though the ones in Italy usually have more than pastries or baked goods.
