My friends and I stopped in for a quick snack after spending a few hours shopping at a nearby boutique. One of my friends ordered the veggie panini, and I had a few bites. It was decent, but it had more soggy green peppers than I would have liked and could have used more eggplant. It was just okay overall, and we ended up taking most of it to go. My friend also picked up a cookie, which she really enjoyed, so that was a nice treat. One thing I did appreciate was that we were able to sit, relax, and enjoy our food without feeling rushed. It was a pleasant place to take a break before heading home. At least they had good a/c, which is a definite plus in FLA! I stopped in for a few pastries, and the owner was super kind. As he was putting fresh trays of cookies into the display case he showed me the cookies I was looking for with almond. The eclair was phenomenal. The cookies are my favorite as always, and the cannoli was heavenly. The cappuccino was excellent!. I usually don't drink cappuccino past 10 o'clock, only espresso, but why not this one was really good and I had not had breakfast yet This shop has the most authentic Italian pastry in all of. Broward County. They use ingredients imported from Italy. Yes, the prices are a little bit high, but the quality is so worth it! Soon they're opening a Panini shop next-door. I can't wait to come and try it! Now they will have sweet on one side and savory on the other. I'm not embarrassed to say that several times I've driven from Pembroke Pines over here just to get a couple of my favorite cookies. Wow, the amount of different pastries, pizzas and focaccia here. It was amazing. It smells so beautiful inside. But extremely pricey, I was just passing by on my way to the airport and had heard about this place. Not sure if it's worth the hype and money,but my treats were very tasty. I brought them back on the airplane to share with my daughter back in California. Service was fairly quick, considering there was about 30 of us inside in line. The only thing I didn't like was about 20-30 different pastries were sitting on the counter and you're speaking to the cashier over them, which was pretty gross. Walked in for an afternoon gelato with my elderly Mom and aunt and two cousins. It took about 10 minutes to get acknowledged by the guy working the counter that just looked annoyed that we were there. There was more obvious lack of patience as we asked to try some of the flavors. Gelato was nothing to write home about but servicable. However, $10 for 1 scoop is the highest I've paid and I live in one of the most expensige citiies in the country (not FTL). After we were done my cousin wanted a coffee. The same guy working the counter didn't see him as he was slicing meat. We waited a few more minutes before asking if he could order a coffee...he said to wait with just a bad tone. Pan'e Dolci is an Italian bakery, gelato and coffee shop located in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The space inside looks upscale, from the very shiny floors, to the crystallized chandelier. You will find a huge assortment of house made gelato flavors, cookies and pastries. I got the Stracciatella gelato. Stracciatella is a vanilla based gelato with some very thin layers of dark chocolate throughout. I got the small, their small is very small, most places call this cup a "kiddie" size. To be fair, they really did jam pack my cup. This was $8.00, which was pricey, but to be expected for this part of town. This was very tasty, I especially enjoyed the larger chocolate pieces, they offered a nice crunch, among the very smooth and creamy vanilla. We stopped here to get some sweet treats after a long walk around downtown. The lady behind the counter was working alone and she did not look very happy about tending so many people....any way, we got a fruit tart and the eclair. The tart was nice and well balanced...not too sweet, not too tart. A treat that I would get again. The eclair on the other hand tasted fake and not good at all...it tasted like day-old pastry. Let's start with the prices, I just paid $21 for a focaccia panini which had mortadella, mozzarella and provolone. When I try to breakdown the price in my head the math is not mathing, because what about this panini can add up to $21?! I would love for a response from the owner with an itemized breakdown so that I can make sense of this transaction. I am in awe..... The panini was "good" but not $21 good at all. Was in the middle of enjoying actually great gelato when 2 customers had gelato scooped into a cup and then realized that they didn't have their wallet and left. In addition to this location on Las Olas, they also have a bakery in Lauderdale by the Sea and Oakland Park. Pastry Chef Roberto was born in Viareggio in Tuscany where he learned to make bread, wedding cakes, Italian desserts, cookies, and cakes. He then went on to assist the Master Pastry Chef aboard Princess Line Cruises. After working in Seattle Washington and Las Vegas, Nevada he became the pastry chef at Gran Forno, on Las Olas Blvd before opening his own bakery, Pan'e Dolci. I had previously been to the Lauderdale by the Sea location and loved my visit. I was introduced to this location by a friend who treated me to one of their pignoli cookies, a favorite of mine. You order at the counter and then can sit at the one of their tables although this location feels much smaller than Lauderdale by the Sea. The employee was so friendly and helpful. What I like about this place is they have dairy free options. Cute little spot for gelato right off the main strip. They had a reasonable amount of flavors from typical to more adventurous so sometime for everyone. They also had 4 non dairy options so that was nice too! The staff was extremely nice and helpful in letting us try flavors. The store itself was pretty small so not great for large groups to sit and chat as there really wasn't any seating. The gelato was also a little expensive as a small cup was $8 so keep that in mind. We were waiting for Cuba Libre to open for happy hour when we saw this patisserie, we ordered the cheese cake fruit tart n croissant, the cheese cake was so good we ate the whole thing w the coffee which was very good. We sat at the bar n saw his bio, this dude is a real Italian from Tuscany n he has worked as a pâtissier since he was 16, he was also a pâtissier for Princess cruises till he opened this bakery. Stopped here after an evening at the beach a little before they were supposed to close. It was just one woman working, taking orders and making them. She was insanely fast, but still crazy attentive. I got a scoop of lemon and coconut gelato. They were creamy and light, and tasted so fresh. That was gone way too quickly. I also ordered a chocolate dome, which was also delicious the next day. We did not realized until we already paid and we told the cashier and she gave us our money back in cash. She was very rude about the situation and did not even apologize for making this "mistake". Great stuff. If you want mouse poop and pubic hairs in your food. I just discovered this place and was really excited, until I went in again on Saturday to get a loaf of the Casarecchio(sp?) bread. Started eating it on Sunday, and then Monday while I was tearing pieces from it, I come across, in the center of the loaf AND baked in, what looks like mouse poop and 100% a pubic hair. I went back to the store and the girl on duty was really nice and accommodating, gave me a refund and told me the owner would be in touch with me. It's been three days and I'm still waiting. They either need to be shut down or reconsider their sanitation practices because this is disgusting and I was sick for two days straight because of this. read more

Maybe it's just me but I've eaten at lot of bakeries that have been out of this world but this one just did take the cake. I order a chocolate eclair something else that the girl behind the counter told me was like a pound cake soaked in rum and a cookie that looked delicious it was like a sugar cookie with jam in the middle. I tried the eclair first it had milk chocolate on top and the custard in side didn't taste good the rum cake thing well she must have drank the rum and just put some kind of sticky coating on it to make it look good and finally the cookie it was just not good to me extremely dry. I tried the gelato it was ok it tasted like it had some water had small ice crystals wasn't very creamy until it melted in my mouth. Won't be back! read more
