So we pull off the expressway specifically to come to Panera bread. We don't want to eat fast food and Panera is always a winner. Every single time forever... Until today. We walk in in this location is kind of dirty and disorganized on the outside and the inside. Go to order our food and she says they're out of this bread and they're out of that bread. So every sandwich I choose is not really available as it's described on the menu. We want to get salad, but they're out of Romain lettuce. They're also out of some of the soups. She says I'm really really sorry it was like this yesterday. So I'm gonna have a soup. I didn't really want so I can get back on the road. Ridiculous ridiculous ridiculous. Each and every person going to the counter is going through the same thing. Having to choose one of the limited things left on the menu. How could this possibly be? Going to the restroom was an adventure in itself. In the vestibule between the restrooms, there was trash and paper towels on the floor. Once you enter the men's restroom, there was at least a dozen pieces of paper towel and toilet paper strewn about. The floors, counters and toilets look like they haven't been Cleaned ever. There was a couple lightbulbs out in cobwebs in the one that was working. As we were getting ready to leave, I went over and spoke to a gentleman wearing a fleece zip up with tons of pet hair on it. I asked him if he was Rob the manager as it said on the door. He said he was. I pulled him aside and said what the hell is going on here? He seemed confused and then I started telling him all of the things that had gone wrong at this visit to Panera. He said he was terribly sorry he doesn't have any help. He said he does everything at the store which I found incredulous because I could see three other employees working with him there. Most of them were about and not doing anything to clean up or Address any of these things I was seeing. He knows that it was a terrible experience and tried to offer me some free food. I didn't want any more of the free food there because the place was really disgusting. Like I said, kind of embarrassed we even stayed here, but we were just so damn hungry. It seems like Panera has been going down hill for a while now. I don't know how many times I have ordered something just to discover when they are out of an ingredient, they simply leave it off without comment. Tonight was apparently no different. We ordered a couple of Caprese sandwiches with apples as a side. If the sandwiches had the balsamic vinaigrette as advertised, you couldn't taste it. I know it sounds like a pretty minor thing but the balsamic vinaigrette adds a lot of flavor......but only if it's include. Most of the time a visit to Panera is a well-oiled machine, so I'm not sure how this place gets it so wrong. This location has been a frequent stopping point as we drive to visit family, but has consistently been disappointing recently. The restaurant is often dirty - tables that need to be wiped off, floors that need to be vacuumed, and restrooms that need attention. I always have Clorox wipes handy since we travel with a messy toddler, but it's still unnerving to wonder when the last time was that the eating area was thoroughly cleaned as we set our trays down. On our last visit ("last" meaning both "most recent" as well as "last time we will come here"), they twice got my order wrong, first adding mayo to a sandwich where I had explicitly customized "No Mayo" (with the receipt to prove it), and then re-making the same sandwich without many of the vegetables that come on it (and which I had not customized to leave off). I didn't even bother to bring the second mess-up to their attention. The staff blew me off when I first brought up the sandwich with Mayo, and seemed irritated that I wanted it re-made without it. That visit was the last straw. We have not stopped at this location since, and have been pleased with another restaurant just down the road that offers similar menu items but with a clean restaurant and friendly and courteous staff. read more

filthy and overpriced. when I went to sit down, there were several different plates simply left there, but that's not the only thing. every crevice of this location is pure filth. it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 6 months. same with the kitchen, which I caught a glimpse of. it looks gross and dirty. I don't even know how the workers work in that condition. as for the food, extremely mediocre. it's all frozen and thrown in a heater device, as it is with all panera locations. the baguette I got was pretty good, and the green tea was decent. my silverware was dirty. this location randomly closes sometimes, likely due to health code violations, if I could assume. Third time having Panera this week while traveling. I onviously enjoy the food but this location was incredibly bad tonight. The mac and cheese was barely warm so I asked for it to be warmed up. I was told I had to go use the microwave since they couldn't take food back. I took a bite of my sandwich and didn't notice the onion that should be on it. I had onion chunks/petals. I asked if I could get sliced onion and was offered more chunks. Plus for a place that requires employees to wear masks, they need to be over both the mouth and nose to be effective. read more

I do not wish this experience at Panera Bread to anyone. I'd give this negative stars if possible! When a team member (when asked the name given was Jessica) made my food I noticed she threw the sandwich box in the bag causing the sandwich to spill into the bag. I asked for a new one and got a HUGE attitude where she proceeded to ask why I wanted a new sandwich made. She made a new one-- and her negative demeanor towards me made me return the entire order for my money back for the principle of it. I am a frequent patron of Panera Bread. I have only been to this location on a few occasions and the food has always been great. My issue isn't with the food quality and if you like the food you will pay the price of whatever you choose. I had ordered a half salad and soup, both of which were good, but I added avocado to my salad for $1.00. When I received my salad there was literally one slice of avocado for that Dollar. I understand restaurants have to control costs however this is down right cheap! I guess a Dollar really doesn't buy much these days unless you are McD's or Wendy's. read more

This location is right off the freeway and knowing the standard menu makes it a great choice while traveling, especially with kids. We stopped in for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff and a clean store. We are all a fan of the U-Pick Two, we each chose a soup and salad. Love the chicken ceaser, broccoli cheddar soup, and garden salad. This location didn't do the buzzer but it was not very busy when we stopped. Very good food. It tasted fantastic!! And the staff was very respectful and helpful. I would give it five stars for food and service. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is the environment. The floor is littered with scraps and paper, while the trash cans are full and no room to stack your dishes on the overflowing towers of plates and bowls. The bathrooms are the same way, too many paper towels are in that trash can, that if you try to put another on top, it frequently ends up on the floor. If it was a busy time, I would believe that would be the cause, but there may have been only 15 people in the restaurant. read more

Standard Panera so not going to talk about food. Nice location next to the hotel I stay at for business when I am in the area. Speedy service and wasn't packed during lunch. Some cons include the almost inaudible person calling out names to pick up food- I've never had that problem at other Paneras. Also- 30 minute wifi during peak times? Not impressed with this policy. This is by far the best Panera in the Dayton area. The staff is very friendly and efficient and they keep the place clean. The best sandwich is definitely a Chipotle Chicken, paired with a bowl of Broccoli Cheddar Soup or sometimes a Greek salad. I will always stop here when I need a good pick-me-up during the day.
