I came back in town for Thanksgiving and I had to make sure I stopped by here with my mom. Jerardi's is one of my favorite little shops and deli. The food and sandwiches are always tasty and the people are always friendly. I had the triple decker and my mom had a turkey sandwich in rye. I also picked up some potato salad which I loved. In the land of Dayton and all the garbage fast food, this place is a delicious gem! We were in town working for a week, and we had a local we were working with recommend ordering sandwiches from here. We ended up ordering three days in a row. Honestly, the people working here seemed to get a little annoyed with us, which I don't get as we were giving them business, but no big deal, the food was still tasty! They have specialty sandwiches, build your own, as well as yummy salads - get the Greek! I heard about Jerardi's word of mouth from a colleague in Cincinnati, so as I'm up in Dayton on a regular basis as the hidden New York style deli in North Dayton, so I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. Note you can truly pass up Jerardi's, its a little shop on a windy road off the Needmore, Frederick and Peter's Pike, just notice the cars as most of the front of the shop is filled with cars. When you walk in you see the gem of the shop, all of the wine they carry from around the world! They are being COVID-19 safe enforcing wearing a mask and social distancing, so look for the distance spots on the floor to stand on to keep your distance while waiting in line. They have over 30 sandwiches available to choose from with their Italian sub being one of their most popular. I love turkey sandwiches and they have 7 different turkey sandwiches to choose from, so it was hard to decide, but I love a turkey sandwich with provolone, plus this had pesto so went with the Mediterranean Turkey and it was delicious. There were several associates behind the counter taking orders, all very busy. On the sides, the associate helping me said they were very busy today, so many of their sides were almost gone. I went with the pesto farfalle salad. In the case they also have a variety of main dishes to take home and reheat, I saw enchiladas, flatbreads, meatballs, loaded baked potatoes. The special they were promoting was grilled burgers, so since I was going to my parents house, felt we could have their burgers for dinner. Also while I was waiting for my food to be ready, I checked out their wine section (they also have some craft beer & sake too). I was delighted to find one of my favorites a sparkling Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand (its hard to find and rare to find anything sparkling Savvy Blanc as the Kiwi's & Aussies call it). It is not an easy place to spot, but well-worth the effort. We planned our first visit to pick up something for dinner and chose two sandwiches to share: Italian sub and a CYO Roast Turkey with Muenster on a sub roll. Both were very good. A last-minute addition after chatting with another patron influenced me to also order a small container of shrimp and crab salad was my favorite item. In addition to 2 bottles of wine from the extensive and remarkable collection, we also picked a small bag of potato chips for the sandwiches and couldn't wait to get home to have it all for dinner. High and low... but the low is high quality. The store is small but well appointed. Tucked among the wine are cultivated snacks and specialty food items like Italian tuna in oil, olive tapenade, crackers, and pastas. The real reason to come here is the wine. Loved this little gem that I happened across when coming into Dayton. They had some lovely nice quality small entrees and side salads. They also have a great looking deli sandwich menu. My choices were marinated beef tenderloin skewers, a boneless chicken thigh with Mediterranean seasoning and several little side salads. I went back to get more of the tenderloin skewers, the fettuccine salad and couldn't resist the giant 1/2 muffuletta sandwich. They had a nice selection of wines and some craft beers. I saw a few cases of wine go out the door on my first trip. I will definitely be back! read more

Have a taste for excellent Seafood Salad give it a try. Medium size shrimp and chunks of Crab meat. The seasonings are fabulous. They have other salads and meats back at the deli counter I have to admit I haven't tried them but there was customers waiting for hand carved specialty sandwiches. This place is amazing! Jerardi's Little Store is an awesome little store that carries all sorts of fine alcohol products, including wines from every region imaginable, specialty things like Saké, ice wines, bitters, and some hard cider brands that I've never even seen before. In addition to having an absolutely stunning collection, they also offer a vast array of homemade sandwiches and italian deli food, including a delicious house-made hummus that I have become slightly addicted to. The owner, Eric Jerardi, is a super kind, super knowledgable man, who has a very admirable passion for what he does. He was extremely kind to this vegan celiac, and offered to make me a lettuce wrap with fresh vegetables in place of a typical sandwich. I was ecstatic and am totally going to be back for that masterpiece on a regular basis. The meat and other sandwich options have been a hit with my family, especially my mother, who says that she hasn't enjoyed deli meat this much since we lived in New Jersey and had access to a similar level of quality. Jerardi's Little Store also carries snack foods, artisanal non-alcoholic drinks, and various sauces and jarred vegetables. They don't have anywhere inside the store to sit, but this isn't a big whup. Just stop by, pick out an amazing bottle of whatever you're in the mood for, nab some tasty Jerardi creation, and enjoy when you get home. I came here today after a recommendation and I was very impressed. I got an Italian Sub that was huge and made just like a NYC deli would do it and had the best pasta I've ever had, bow tie pesto and thai peanut noodles. What I loved about this place was the authenticity and actual real food made by actual Italian people. They also have a very great beer and wine selection. read more

The store front is very nice but the inside is flawlessly stocked to the roof with any type of wine you'd like. I go to Jerardi's for their amazing food. What a little gem that is hidden away and has great sandwiches and service. Being a Ohio/California transplant after living in California for 35 years it was nice to find a place that's not fast food in the Vandalia area.
