Dayton is certainly getting some interesting new spots and The Silos is one of those mew must-try locations. It's such a unique gatherall for food and drinks with an ambiance that truly makes it stand out. It's not huge like some others but it's brimming with character. There are four food spots and a bar with great drink options surrounded by lots of comfortable seating. The food spots include Nood Bar (noodles), Kung Fu BBQ (Asian BBQ), The Burger Bistro, and Fete (bowls and salads). Here's the fiod we tried: The burger bistro -turkey burger -Brussels sprouts -chicken parm eggrolls Nood Bar -Japanese fried chicken Bao (3) -Korean corn dog Kung fu bbq -3 smoked brisket birria tacos with a side of Mac and cheese If was tough to decide an absolute favorite of everything, but I thought the bao was the best, followed by the eggrolls, and the birria tacos. I really enjoyed the Noods Bar! I had the Buldak Karaage Udon and it was GREAT. The flavor profile put you in the mind of the noodle version on Hamburger Helper. The noodles had chili oil and cheddar-infused pork broth, Japanese fried chicken, bok choy, fresh corn, scallions, pickled bamboo, grated Parmesan, and black garlic oil. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and the cheese pull that the noodles had. The service was decent. I wouldn't say its anything to cry home about - at both the bar and the restaurant - but the staff was pleasant. I will say I was a bit concerned regarding the food safety at the Noods Bar. I noticed that none of the people preparing food were wearing gloves or a hair net. In fact, the young lady who took my order at the register was processing basil without gloves. What I found most alarming was when the time came for me to order, she simply put the basil to the side for a moment - took my order by touching the ipad and took my card for payment - and went right back to the basil without washing her hands. read more

We love the repurposing of this site for a cluster of small restaurants. We had a hard time choosing which one to try, so we all went in different directions and each got something different. Well The Silos didn't disappoint. This time we had Kung Fu BBQ. We really wanted the Peach moonshine Pulled pork grilled cheese but it was a 30 minute wait on the Pork so.....BBQ drumsticks it was. The BBQ sauce was so good! Just the perfect amount of heat and sweet without the overwhelming flavor of something with a tomato base. The chicken was crispy and cooked to perfection. The one thing about these drumsticks is that they are messy Could've definitely used some hand wipes after we were done. The mac and cheese was very flavorful and creamy and no additional salt or seasoning needed. Love the atmosphere of this place. It was a little chilly inside but I love being surrounded by all the plants and windows. Can't wait to go try something new there again. read more

This is another place I saw on Instagram that's a must go! It's like a Factory 52/Element Eatery in the Cincinnati area if you've been. Food hall with different food vendors (I counted 4). The outside and inside are very rustic. It has a Madtree earthy feel. The silos has an urban look. Love all the plants inside! Gives it a cozy feel. They have a bar at the front entrance. They use shipping containers to build the food vendors which is very cool. They have an upstairs which we couldn't check out because it was reserved for an event. What kept me from giving it a 5 stars is the limited seating. Which was difficult to find but we managed to sit against the wall. They do have outdoor seating but not great for the winter time. I was surprised how small The Silos was inside; other food halls I have been to were quite a bit bigger. When you walk in, there is a big bar in the middle and 4 food vendors. The vendors were each on a different corner, which kept areas to keep from getting too congested. The bar had a line but the bartenders worked quickly we got our drinks in just a few minutes. The food vendors were quite a bit slower, but we went and sat down and relaxed with our drinks and they texted us when our order was ready. Our group of three tried the crab ragoon & chicken bao buns from Nood Bar and birria tacos & carrot cake from Kung Fu BBQ. They were all pretty good but I think the bao buns were my favorite. There is a lot of outdoor seating, which was great since it was such a beautiful day outside. We definitely want to go back and try feather bowling sometime soon! read more

We were inside today due to the rain upstairs the venue is absolutely lovely with all of the mixture of tables & loved all of the green greenery & plants hanging everywhere. Have a great bar with a variety of drinks enjoyed the homemade sangria today. Definitely will be back to have a beer. You can also get a flight of four beers/ciders. Great seeing a mix of people of all ages families too enjoying the venue . There are currently four food businesses inside burgers, vegan, Korean BBQ & noodles. Definitely will be back. The last stop on my Dayton day trip was at the Silos. It's a food hall and beer garden...such a beautiful space! I'm not a beer fan but I still sampled a few for the fun of it. We were too full to eat again by that point, but the Kung Fu BBQ restaurant did catch my eye. I took home a bouquet of flowers though and definitely plan to stop by another time. read more

Very cool place within walking distance of Daytons 2nd Street Market so that's convenient. Seems like parking could be a challenge during busy days as it's mostly on street parking in the area. How would I describe "The Silo's"? It's like an active chill spot that you meet your family and friends at where you can walk up the bar and grab your favorite beverage and if you're hungry, order some food from one of the amazing four crews in the box food joints on all four corners of main floor. They refer to this design as a 'food hall & bar'. We chose to order 'Crab Rangoon' from the Nood Bar that's run by the infamous Chef Dane Shipp. I've been following this fella for quite some time and it was an absolute blessing because not only were the Rangoon's delicious but that house made sweet chili sauce was out of this world tasty!! the folks here took care of me like I was family. The next dish was the Patriot from the 'Burger Bistro'. The wait was long for this one, the folks running this store were super friendly but the burger was okay. Wishing we had ordered brisket tacos from Kung Foo Barbeque instead but by this time, the lovely Mrs and I were full and ready to go out and wander the outside features here. The patios seem to never end. It's so big! It's super nice and appears they are working on the old building in front corner of the space. Curious what that will end up being? Maybe another bar? We will for sure go back and get another dish from 'Noods' but looking forward to brisket tacos from KFB. The Silos is a community beer garden and food hall in downtown Dayton that opened January 2025. They have a bar and four food vendors throughout the two level complex. The food vendors include: Nood Bar, which serves Asian-inspired noodle dishes with an assortment of bao buns and dumplings. KungFu BBQ, which serves worldly-inspired cuisine (Philippines, Japan, Mexico and Hawaii) with a unique smoked interpretation. The Burger Bistro, which offers a new spin on classic burgers and sandwiches. Menu items include smash burgers, cheesesteaks, fried chicken sandwich, chicken wings and loaded fries. Indigo, which serves seasonal farm-to-table salads, grain bowls, West-Coast inspired burritos and a line of herbal "elixirs. Each vendor is located in a corner of the warehouse in a cut out train boxcar. They inside is decorated like a greenhouse, with several hanging plants. It's a cool spot but definitely still a work in progress. The bar is located directly at the front when you walk in, and the line can get quite long, wrapping around a majority of the first level. The parking is another major downside as they don't have a dedicated lot. There is some street parking which is hit or miss. There is a lot adjacent to the building but it is technically for a different local business and cones were put out to thwart people parking there for The Silos. In addition, the food vendors took unreasonably long to prepare the food (1 hour+) for what should be fast, food truck style turnover. The outdoor space should be well utilized when the weather warms up. read more

Inside are men and women rooms - outdoor has single stall for each available also. What a great discovery - thanks to two sets of friends with great tips, we planned a visit to check this spot out after dinner Saturday night. Although we agreed it would be 'weather permitting', must advise there is plenty of indoor space on ground level and a second floor dining area. The real star though is the extensive outdoor space. Green turf for outdoor games have plenty of seating areas and a lovely partially covered patio area with tables and chairs to enjoy your finds and friends. Currently, there are 4 food vendors, tucked inside tiny little shipping containers retrofitted to support a food and beverage vendor inside the main structure. Outside are a few more of those Mediterranean containers serving up beverages - cocktails, beer, etc. The crowd was happy. Whether playing horseshoes, chasing children, complaining about dating (why do people broadcast this in public areas?), or drinking and/or eating - it is a lovely space to find yourself. I Want to Like The Silos--But It's Not Quite There Yet I've been to The Silos three times now, and each time I leave with the same thought: this place has so much potential, but it still feels unfinished. I can see the vision--it's a cool concept, and I want to root for it--but there are just too many small issues that add up. Let's start with the bar situation. It really needs rethinking. Every visit, the line for drinks has been out the door, and once you're finally at the front, you're squinting at a hard-to-read beer menu and feel rushed to make a choice. A simple fix? QR codes at the entrance or along the line so you can browse beer options while you wait. It would make a big difference. Food-wise, I've tried three of the four vendors: Nood Bar - 4/5 stars. Easily the best of the bunch. The food is fresh, flavorful, and consistent. If I come back, this is where I'll be ordering again. Kung Fu BBQ - I had the birria tacos. They were fresh but really light on meat and didn't have much flavor. The consommé was decent but couldn't quite make up for the lackluster tacos. The Burger Bistro - This one was disappointing. First off, the prices are steep--$15 for 3 deviled eggs? That's hard to justify. I tried the Triple B Burger, which came out hot (props for that), but the onion straws were tough, the BBQ sauce was overly sweet, and the jalapeños tasted pickled in a way that didn't work for the flavor balance. The cheesy fries were a mixed bag--loved the cheese sauce, but the fries seemed frozen, not fresh-cut. Overall, The Silos isn't a bad spot, but it needs polish. The concept is there, and I do hope they fine-tune the experience because I'd love to be able to recommend this place without caveats. Until then, it's a "maybe" for me. read more

It was our first visit. Great atmosphere, several choices for door and drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating. Love it

A food hall? In Dayton? Wild. This place feels very grass roots and community-esque, and it's really cool. The Silos is weirdly smaller than I'd expect, though. If you're used to the standard "food hall" vibes of larger cities (even Columbus ones), the Silos is extremely small with only four food vendors and a bar. PROS: -This place is GORGEOUS. Seriously, props to whoever is taking care of all of the plants all over the place. Even though you can tell the Silos was done on a budget (lots of mismatched seating, shipping container vibes), everything is clean, naturally lit, and covered in plants. It's really cool. -Lots and lots of seating. A built-in second story (only saw stairs) offers even more seating. Lots of large-group options as well as two-person options. Even with all this seating, they still manage to keep walkways pretty open, and it's relatively easy to get around the Silos. -Clean bathrooms too. Even during peak hours, the women's bathroom was completely fine. If they were going to host a large event, the few stalls probably wouldn't be enough restrooms, but it works great for everyday operations. -Beautiful, beautiful outdoor seating options too. Very few of the outdoor seating options were covered (and therefore, a no go on a super hot summer day), but lots of different outdoor options to choose from as well as different views for each spot. (road, silo, greenery, etc.) CONS: -One single bar for the full food hall. With only a few bartenders working during peak hours, this line was regularly on the verge of going out the front door. They might want more bartenders or something. Another suggestion: a much-larger drink menu that's easier to read. Quite a few customers were holding up the line because they couldn't see the possible drinks to order until they had gotten right up to the counter and had a bartender waiting on their order. -Important to note this single bar is also the only place for a dedicated drink vendor. No coffee shops, soda shops, etc. A few of the vendors sold bottled drinks (and Indigo had smoothies), but no alcohol or draft anything (even fountain soda) from the food vendors. -Why are the menus for all of the establishments not available online? The Silos website just links you to a vendor's Instagram. That's not helpful. Even Silos' own bar/beer menu is not listed on their own website. This is really annoying as one of the main draws of a food hall is that they have multiple types of food available to suit multiple tastes. -Parking is a little annoying as Silos doesn't seem to have its own dedicated lot. Lots of street parking nearby, though. Expect a walk of at least a block or two during peak hours. read more

I've been hearing so many good things about the Silos and I'm so glad I finally tried them! I was so pleased with the atmosphere, customer service, and overall experience! My favorite was the Nood Bar! Oh my goodness! The flavors they provided for the ramen bowl was amazing! The pork belly was so good! The broth was so subtle yet flavorful!! I've never had a "jammy egg", safe to say I'll have to try it again because it was so delicious! Everything just meshed together so well! I also tried Kung Fu BBQ! I only tried the collard greens. Overall they were okay, too vinegary for my liking but definitely flavorful and I'd try other items when I visit again. We also tried The Burger Bistro where we tried the salmon cheesesteak and it was so good! It had a "tropical rum" sauce that added a bit of sweetness and the salmon was flavorful and not overcooked! My family also had the Turkey burgers and chicken tenders for my grands, which they all enjoyed! We tried a few things just to get a feel of the food selections! The bar made us some very tasty lemonades and my son and daughter also enjoyed a lemon drop and rum and coke, which they said were good! Overall we will be back to try other dishes!! read more

What a GREAT new "hot spot" in Dayton!! I especially love that it's a old structure that's been repurposed. Beautiful decor, tasty food choices, friendly vendors, WONDERFUL spot for events, special occasions, or just hanging out with friends... What a fun venue to enjoy some drinks and food with friends. Only real issue is not having ample parking as the Children's Hospital lot across the street posts signs that they will tow. we've been roughly ~10 times and it's quickly become a family favorite. honorable mentions; the monster fries, morning monster burger & hot honey chicken deviled eggs @ the burger bistro. i had surgery at miami valley recently & my first thought after waking up was i must have those deviled eggs, & i did. the peach/apple moonshine bbq pulled pork @ king fu bbq. we once purchased 2 and took one to my in laws because of how in awe we were. we've come in on even the busiest of nights and still not had any negative experiences. truly only good things to say. read more

Came here for Galentines Day! Parking has been a hot topic surrounding this place. We found a spot about a block away. Bring mace or a taser or a black belt to protect you on your journey from the car to the door. Once inside, the atmosphere vibes! Lots of greenery, bright ambiance, open air and bougie AF. With a bar in the middle, and four restaurants with seating in a circular layout, it's a food court with style! I absolutely love this concept! There are four restaurants and a brewery to pick from, all overpriced. My non alcoholic drink was $6. They had some cool things going on like an artist giving mini tattoos (real) and a tarot card reader (fake?). It's loud inside, not recommended for an intimate outing. They have so much space, would love to see some live music or cornhole this summer! Downtown needed something like this. read more
