I ordered a new Sandwich on the menu and asked what came on it. I was told it came with multiple things including chicken, onions, chipotle sauce, tomatoes, lettuce etc. -The worker who took my order was incredibly hateful and didn't give me a receipt. I also got my sandwich- opened the container and it literally had chicken and onions mushed between to pieces of bread. I have always loved Panera (white girl- of course) I will never go back to this location again. I really enjoy Panera, as I used to work there and loved the food. But for the past year or so every time I go it's a hit or miss. I normally get the toasted frontega chicken and it comes with a really good chipotle aoili. Unfortunately, almost every time I've gotten it it's been some sort of spicy chipotle sauce and does not taste good with the sandwich in the slightest. I know they didn't change to sauce because my mom got it the other day with the normal sauce. It must be different cooks using different sauces but it would be nice if they would make sure they're using the right sauce when they make it. It's literally one of my favorite sauces and i genuinely am so sauce and disappointed when i realize it's the wrong sauce. Its tastes so bad with the spicy one I can't even eat it. read more

What came to the door was not what I asked for at all actually it was a bright yellow soup with black seeds in it. Clearly not what I asked for. The job of these people is to read off a screen and put the food it says into a bag. No cooking is even involved at this mediocre restaurant. Reading and placing in bag. Plus sides: comfortable seats, fireplace in the cold, free refills, microwave, nice glass storefront. But I was disappointed with my pick 2. I asked for dine in, I got take out, I asked for extra Lettuce and tomato's, They forgot, I wasn't asked if I wanted chips or apple for bread w my pick 2 so I had to ask for a bag of chips. The salad pieces were wilted and blackened and unwashed, the soup in the tiny container was 3/4 full in the already minuscule cup, I didn't get any utensils for my soup but just a fork for salad, barely any feta cheese but maybe 10 crumbs for my Greek salad, French onion soup had tiny flakes of gruyere cheese if any, and my table was dirty. I cleaned it myself. Panera is one of my favorite places to eat in the US but this one in Grand Forks was disappointing. I wish they would listen to the orders more carefully and wash the veges and throw out the blackened and wilted pieces of lettuce and fill the cup to the top for soup bc the cup is already tiny. The annoying thing about this place is the that I like it. I like the sandwiches, the salads, even the pastries. The thing that makes my blood boil is the bait and switch they do when you order online. If they are out of something they still charge you for it and then ask you to choose another item. I don't want something else, I want what I ordered. If you want your money back you have to wait for the manager, who I assure you is in zero great hurry to make time for you. Completely destroys the rapid pick up benefit and leaves me very dissatisfied. Happened to me twice in a row. First time I boycotted the place for months. The second time, same problem, I'm never going back. Either let the register staff do a quick refund or automatically refund what is not available. A better solution is to keep an accurate online inventory. This should be possible in the computerized automated age. read more

I've never dined-in here but I have ordered delivery about 15 times through online ordering. The delivery times are very fast (10 minutes one time) and the food is hot, shakes are still cold and the order is always correct. Great service! read more

The first time we went here I was really disappointed, but that was a week or two after it opened and it wasn't designed for the huge crowds (Which admittedly could still be a problem. The lay out really doesn't work well for large crowds). The second time we went for noon lunch there wasn't as big of a crowd and we really enjoyed the food. I gave them 2 stars in my last review, largely based on bad service, but I love Panera, so I went back with hopes of a better experience. Not so much. The line in the door is a mess. Some folks think there is one line, others think there are 2 or 3. This causes angry customers as the perception of line cutting causes a bad impression right from the start. A high point was the register service today, as she was very polite, but unfortunately for me, the line chaos allowed the last plain bagel to be stolen by someone behind me in line...very frustrating. Then when I went to get my food (to go because cleanliness was an issue last time), they called our name. When I tried to get my food (bag), there was an employee looking exhausted with arms and grand leaning on the counter directly in front of my food. I tried to politely ask for it, but it became very awkward. She glanced around, looked doubtingly at us, and very reluctantly moved. I don't know what's going on at this place. Where do I start, has such a bad experience with my cashier, he didnt know what a bread bowl was (I am pretty sure he was high on weed) I then asked to see a manager, it got even worse after that. I dont even know how this guy got promoted to manager. I explained my frustration to him and he just flipped me off and then told me to piss on a wall. Their food is usually quite tasty, but their drive-up definitely needs improvement. I was just there getting a group soup for the office which typically comes with a ladle, cups and silverware. No cups or silverware for a second time in recent months makes it quite impossible to eat. Then when you call, they think you can drop everything and drive back a couple miles to pick up. The Panera Bread in Grand Forks, in my view, excels in the bakery department, which has an excellent array of breads, bagels, and muffins. They also have a good selection of desserts. The service is generally pretty good. The menu items are more on the OK to pretty good side as I tend to think Panera needs to revamp its sandwiches and salads and make an effort at providing higher quality options. Not that they are bad, but they are not outstanding. I often buy bagels and breads here as they are consistently very good. If you like breakfast, then try their breakfast souffles as they are definitely quite good. read more

My coworkers & I have ordered Panera a few times for delivery and have always had pretty good experiences. This time it took over 2 hours to receive our food. I placed the order at 11:08am and it was delivered after 1:15PM. I received a text that the food was on the way at 11:19AM even though the suggested delivery time was between 11:45AM-12PM(Which we were fine with) At 12:15PM I decided to call as we still had not received our food. The Manager was very nice and said there was something wrong with their delivery system and the driver was back on their way with our food. She also offered 4 free pastries which was fine. I was tracking the order online and I could see the driver coming in our direction then the driver turned around and went back to Panera. At no time during this did I receive an update as to what was going on with our order. A phone call would have been nice. I tried to call again after seeing that the driver was back at Panera. The line was either continuously busy or no one answered. Finally the driver showed up after 1:15PM with the order. He apologized and said the other driver got into a accident. Im not sure what to believe as I was told two different things. We would have been much more understanding if there really was a car accident and there was some communication from the business. Our food total was $63.00 that took over 2 hrs to arrive and we were offered 4 free pastries...If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I have never really had any problems with a Panera before until I went to the one in my home town. The salads were smaller than previous salads I have purchased at different locations and they are not cheap salads. They forgot my salad dressing and the strawberries in my mom's strawberry salad. They gave me bread when I asked for apples. I called and they appologized and claim to be sending me a coupon in the mail. Expensive. The bread often tastes okay because it's a different flavor and texture than you can buy at Hugo's. But overall i have been disappointed. Every thing tastes like it was made yesterday, esp. the brownie! The iced tea was room temp! The sandwiches are often overwhelmed by the bread and difficult to chew.
