I always have really good luck with this Five Guys location in Grand Forks. It is in a strip mall right near the TJ Maxx and Sierra stores, and it is a great spot to stop in between shopping. The quality control here is solid. The food is always really good and the inside of the restaurant has always been clean for me, which I cannot say is the case for every Five Guys I have been to. I usually get the giant cheeseburger with everything on it along with a large order of fries. I have tried the milkshakes before and they are just OK, and I think they are a bit overpriced, which is pretty common for Five Guys in general. The food itself is still very good though. The service was fast and the inside had ample seating. There was also a good amount of parking available. If you are in town and want a quick spot to eat, I would recommend coming here. read more

Professional staff. Theres some road construction so getting around that is a nuisance but this location does pretty well i mean its burgers and fries youd think you cant fuck it up you totally can. My wife ordered me a Cheeseburger and normal order of Cajun Fried tonight using Door Dash. The order consisted of a Grilled Cheese and a shake for my wife and a cheeseburger and regular Cajun fries for myself. When the order arrived my burger was full of bacon. I can NOT eat bacon. My wife drove to the store in Grand Forks, ND to get it replaced. What she faced in your store was not excusable. When she showed the people at the counter the order and gave them the order they had no clue what they did wrong. They were rude from the start. She asked them to replace the burger that had bacon on it. After the person in the front gave them the order and had them remake it, they complained at made very rude Karen jokes that were very apparent from the front counter. This is a small store where you can hear the whole kitchen from. My wife says that there was only one person in the whole store that wasn't rude to her. When I got my burger I couldn't even keep it in the bun to eat it! The burger was in about 10 pieces and the parts in the burger like the onions were not under the pun. I had to eat it with a fork because the cheese couldn't keep the burger together. By the time my wife was able to get to her grilled cheese, it was a soggy mess. Her shake was also completely melted. My fries were completely cold. I would say the whole experience was bad. This is the second time something like this food-wise has happened when ordering from this store. I have had great experiences at other 5 guys restaurants, but I don't think very highly of this store. The bad and mistimed food, the rudeness and name calling from the staff. Man, it's just a really good burger. I think people are accustomed to eating fries that have been frozen and processed, so freshly cut fries don't taste like what they are used to, but give em a shot. Personally, I think these fries are world class. I get the cheese burger with onions, lettuce, relish, ketchup and mustard. It's a little spendy, but you get so much food and it's so good. Five Guy's is on the very short list of things my brother and I agree on. I've been to stores in 3 cities now and they all delivered the goods in a big way. One thing, you should not try and drive while eating a five guys burger, they are too messy and you will probably crash. Or get food all over you, Or Both. I love this place! The food is always freshly cooked. Even when I pick up my call in order it's always only a few minutes wait for fresh fries and it's ready. The staff are very nice every time we visit here. They always greet us and have a smile on their faces. The staff seem to enjoy working there together. I always order my burger without a bun due to being gluten free. They always ask if it's an allergy or a preference. I appreciate them asking for more information to make sure they accommodate me correctly. My burger comes in it's own container and covered to keep it warm until I get home. It's really a great service they are providing by adding this option for those of us who do not and can't not eat bread. Thank you guys for always being so amazing! read more

Was in Sunday afternoon. Never been so bad! My grand daughter and I stopped in. She ordered a grilled cheese and I a bacon cheeseburger. I asked for a second bacon cheeseburger in a separate bag Togo. Grand daughter also had a shake. I will start with the shake. Half was all whipped cream and just un- drinkable. She left on the table (like most everything else) when we left. My burger was broken into pieces inside. Impossible to eat and not good. I asked for a the other burger in a second bag. Nope. Had to put it in a greased out bag. I have been here at least 2 doz. Times and never had an issue. Grand daughter was given a hamburger flattened and burnt into what they called a grilled cheese. Flattened into a disgusting $4 hockey puck. I gave the Togo burger to my wife not telling her about how things were for us. An hour later I asked how was the burger? She said good, thank you. I told her about our experience. She said OMG. She didn't want to feel ungrateful so she said she had one bite and threw it away. Plus she got mad at me for not telling her. I never miss an opportunity to hit a '5 Guys' and when we had a break between games at the co-ed state softball tournament; a good portion of our team made the short drive to the Grand Forks '5 Guys'! We were pretty excited to take a few first timers with us, the food was fantastic, I get the double burger 'all the way' and drown the fries in the malt vinegar; it seemed like my cup of fries wasn't quite as full as other times I've visited a '5 Guys'; so that struck their perfect score. The restaurant was clean; and I was very pleased to see they featured the 'Freestyle' Coke machines; and we all took advantage of doing drawings on the little index cards to leave our mark! read more

I was really hesitant on this place. Reviews were mixed and these chain burger places are often pretty marginal but I finally had to give this place a try. I walked in at about 7pm on a Monday night. There was nobody in line at the counter and about 10 tables seated. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos and Cajun fries, paid and walked down to the pick-up end of the counter to wait for my order (#59). A couple of minutes later I saw them bagging up a burger and order of fries and then just as I reached for the bag she called out "order #52". WHAT? 52????? 6 more orders until my burger is ready? I figured they must have skipped some numbers. I was wrong. 23 minutes later (according to the order time on my receipt) they finally called #59. STRIKE 1. To make up for the delay I was given a quick "sorry for the delay" but no explanation. STRIKE 2 - you know what, if you acknowledge that there is a problem you really should do some explaining. Yes, you gave me a ton of extra fries but seriously, I'm by myself - extra fries do nothing for me. Luckily, that would be the last strike for Five Guys. The burger was perfect - cooked just right, bun was fresh, tasty and lightly grilled, jalapenos were fresh and hot and the bacon was just the right level of crispy without being burnt. It was excellent. I thought the fries were slightly over seasoned but they, too, were well cooked and quite tasty. Too bad I threw away about two pound of them (they gave me a ton). I'm not sure what cause the delay in getting the food out but by the time I was leaving they were churning out peoples' orders within a few minutes. I expect that that is more the norm. The burger was good enough to bring me back despite the wait. Yes, I wish they offered blue cheese as a topping and maybe a couple of flavors of malts but for a simple burger they are definitely worth a stop. read more

And their fry size is very loose terminology because they fill your size and then fill the empty space in your bag with fries that my family of four can't finish in one sitting. When my son and I walked in we were treated amazingly. The man at the counter went through the whole menu with us. The food was so good, my burger had fresh jalapeños, not the pickled kind. The fries were fresh and hot. My son ate his ENTIRE burger. And the people that work here are awesome. Someone is cleaning the place the entire time and I saw every single employee wash their hands numerous times. This will be our go-to burger place. Just wish I could bring my daughter. I've been here twice since moving to Grand Forks, and both times have been decent. Good service, food ready in a reasonable amount of time. After going to a few in the DC area, where Five Guys started, it's a lot different going to one in the middle of nowhere, mainly just knowing that the place was founded down the street gives it a more "happening" feel than way out in North Dakota. Food from this place doesn't worth its money. First, it takes more than 10 min to cook a burger and fries which is almost eternity for fast food. Second, as it was mentioned before, fries are very greasy: they just put it in a paper bag and it absorbs all fat from fries. I've never been to a Five Guys before, but we have eaten a lot of burgers in the Grand Forks area so we decided to give this place a try. My order: a 'little burger' with regular size cajun fries Husband's: a burger with regular size (non cajun) fries, and a small drink Time: about 5 PM on a weeknight. After my husband ordered his fries the girl at the counter looked at me and said 'you know one regular fries serves 2 people...' I had to explain that I wanted to try the cajun and my husband doesn't. (Thought it was nice that she was looking out for my health, but why not point out that the 1000 calorie burger my husband ordered also serves 2 people, technically?! Also, I'm not overweight, so it's not like she had cause to be thinking 'wow, fatty, back off on the fries...') So we got our napkins and ketchup and drink and sat down. Tick, tick, tick... I suppose about 10 minutes passed before our food was ready (and they put it in the wrong bags--his burger with my fries--worth noting though it doesn't matter). I thought that was quite the wait given that no one was in front of us. The food was... Okay. The normal size burger (husband's) is actually a double burger (2 patties). I don't think it said that it would be double anywhere on the menu. He liked it though, said it was good. I ordered a little burger and expected a little burger...this was a large-to-normal sized burger. Bigger than I wanted but that was the smallest option. My burger was kind of dry and not that flavorful, and there was SO much bun! I could barely taste the burger through all the bun, even with the burger being as big as it was. The cheese on them was American. Tasted like kraft singles and had that 'sheen' about it that those fakey cheeses do. Oh well--most burger joints have this type of cheese. The bacon was perfect. The fries left a lot to be desired. My husband LOVES good french fries, and these were just not. They were mushy and greasy. He probably ate 10 of his fries before tossing the rest back in to the bag. My 'cajun' fries were dusted with what I think was a lot of Lowry's seasoning salt. OK, but again I only ate a few because they just did not impress me at all. Oh, and this food wasn't cheap. It was $20 for 2 burgers (1 little), 2 orders of their smallest fries and their small drink. Seemed like a lot for what we got, which was average-to-mediocre fast food. For the wait, the price, and the lack of options I probably would not go back unless I was with other people who wanted to eat there. I would suggest trying Buffalo Wild Wings' burgers. They're cheaper and taste better, IMO. Ditto for Burger Time, Hardees, and The Blue Moose, among others. read more

I hit this "restaurant" up at primetime bulktime, i ordered a 5 guys 2-2-2 lb meal which consisted of a 2 lb Murican burger with a side of 2 lb mini regular burgers topped off with a 2 lb chocolate shake, i love me some chocolate. Burgers taste like cardboard, regular fries had zero taste despite the grease they came in. Me and two friends came here on high hopes of a good burger. First the sticker shock high prices but we fiquire maybe there worth it, after all the place is filled with "best burger and fries " type slogans. I haven't been that disappointed in an eating establishment in a long time. I had a bacon cheeseburger, and yes, it did come with two patties; however, they were very bland, and the bacon tasted like it was deep fried, then crumbled on the bottom bun and fell out all over whenever I would take a bite. I also had Cajun fries, which were horrendous!! I am not scared of seasoning. I also love french fries made out of fresh potatoes, but the fries were old, cold, and not cooked completely. There was too much seasoning on the fries, which was like eating a salt lick with a soggy middle. I don't feel it was reasonably priced either. For 2 burgers (two patties each, which isn't specified on the menu), 1 order of fries, and 2 regular drinks, the total came to $21.57 to include tax. I am willing to pay more for fresh food, but I feel this is way too much to pay for a less than mediocre "fast food" meal for two. On the plus side, there was cheese on each hamburger patty, and there was a sufficient amount of french fries....if only I could have eaten them. read more
