Lunch at Panera on our first day of vacation in Panama City Beach area of Florida. We both had South West Salads with bread. Hot coffee for drinks rounded out our lunch. We used the ordering kiosk and it worked out better than we usually do ordering from the cashier. The restaurant was clean. The dining room could used a refresh. The staff was not particularly helpful. The coffee in the self-serve urn was cold (it's always cold and 99.44% of the Panara's we visit.) The gal at the counter told us that she would bring hot coffee out. That never happened. My wife asked again 10 minutes later and she admitted she forgot. Eventually we got our coffee. If I was King for a day at Panara, I would not change the food or the menu. However, I would try to get some help that are more customer-focused and try to get some consistency in everything from food to drinks. read more

Broccoli cheddar cheese soup is wonderful. I ordered it every time Restaurant is clean and service is quick.

Hot Chocolate is not good. Ordered 2 cups and got two cups of hot milk no chocolate. Returned to report the problem and they remade it, but only had a small amount of chocolate in it. This sandwich was served with the winged creature on it. Man at the window told my daughter it wasn't a bug, that it was char as he shoved it into the bread. He then told her he couldn't take it back and basically too bad. It wasn't until I walked around that he changed his tune. I clearly told him I had taken a picture of it just in case this very thing happened. He said they would remake it but walked away angrily. I remained until the girl spoke and said she would remake it. He eventually came back and threw it away. I believe he would have served her the same sandwich if I had not stayed there. read more

We ate outside and it was filthy! It was not busy at all. No line. Every outside table was empty. It was 12:30 pm. There was trash everywhere. Smushed food on the ground. The tables have this circle with a statement that tables are cleaned and and sanitized regularly and it was extremely gross. What looked like dirty spit dried up. This was days or weeks of filth. I have been going here since Day #1...It has gone downhill. I always bought quiche for breakfast, and they stopped selling my FAVE-SUNDRIED TOMATO. I LOVE their bagels, breads, cookies, pastries and macaroons...EXCELLENT!!! BUT, for meals, I'm disappointed. I got a $10 reward on my card, went in and got a pepperoni flatbread, caesar salad and raisin oatmeal cookie. The store was clean, cashier friendly, but flatbread had no spices/herbs... just bland. The side caesar salad was room temperature!!! The dressing had no bite of anchovie paste...just croutons and lettuce with powdered cheese...boring. AGAIN the cookie was PERFECT!!! This place is the worst! I came in for a quick dinner and it took 15 minutes for my Mac and cheese and my little sisters Mac and cheese to come out. The place was empty (and dirty) so I don't know why it took forever. When I got my Mac and cheeses, they both are the same size, even though they are adult and kid sizes. We used to order from here weekly for work. We stopped because every time we ordered there was a mistake. I made the mistake of coming for breakfast, for pick up, they got my order wrong and when I went back and went in to get it corrected they brought me the wrong thing again. I've given up. Ordered a pick 2 and 2 salads for my family. 2 hours later after I get the baby put down for the night I find that there was a missing salad. When I called up they said I could come in tomorrow to get my missing salad. ???? Why would I come in tomorrow for my dinner tonight? How is that a solution to the issue? I asked to speak to a manager, the gentleman who actually handed me my food, I said that coming in wasn't going to happen since it was far away from where I am staying. First off, I am a HUGE panera fan. I've ordered from this Panera with zero issues. My only complaint was we ordered the new smoked chicken baguette which was very delicious....yes I love bread. Went there early, right after they opened. After I ate, I made the mistake of wanting to use the restroom. I have been in fraternity house bathrooms cleaner than this bathroom. Not just the toilets and sinks. The walls, the floors, the tp dispensers... every surface area was dirty, dusty or hairy. There is no way that place has been cleaned in a month. I previously had a 5 star rating on here bc this Panera used to be soooo good! Now I'm lucky to even get everything I ordered. They always forget something (dressings for salad,etc.) or skimp on the avocado. The soup is cold at 6 pm and the Mac and cheese is soupy. The meals are always made poorly or incorrectly. The manager always seems to be there when I go in so I don't know why these things keep happening. The only reason I keep going back is bc I love Panera and there isn't another one on the beach. Filthy and out of stock. Big PB fan but this location is dirty and poorly operated. Several tables still had food and plates on them and people were waiting for a place to sit. They remained that way for the entire time we ate our lunch. I know you are supposed to clear your own table here - but some people don't know that so someone needs to keep the dining area clean. Three times this week we stopped in to get coffee and a snack. All three times the iced coffee was out. We requested that they make more and we were told "it will take 5 minutes". 15 minutes...still no coffee or any indication that anyone was working to resolve the issue. I absolutely love Panera Bread! This was the worst experience I've ever had! The food is good but the service from Laura my cashier was horrible. She was beyond rude from the beginning of my experience here and she messed up my order. First I asked for a steak and cheese she told me they didn't have it, then a man corrected her. I asked for no onions she told me they didn't come with onions. When I got home they had onions on my sand which. My sister is allergic, we had to trash the food we spent 20$ on, great! Tracee the other cashier was phenomenal she attempted to help Laura. Another woman came to also accommodate me after I asked to have a copy of my receipt (I originally said no the first time Laura asked). Laura rang in Mac and cheese, I ordered half a grilled cheese. I asked for a buzzer, she said they'll call my name. She never asked for my name. I had to come back and ask for cups. She handed me cups. No straws. The drink I ordered wasn't available. Conveniently located at the Simon Mall plaza. Fee steps away from main stores. What I like about this place is consistency of food. I like to go simply with unlimited Zoppa tuscana soup and salad. I really like bread sticks. Just with this combo you can suffisfy person of any size. Usually I get this combo with hot tea. From time to time I like to get some entry with signature chicken. Seriously surprised this Panera hasn't been shut down yet. The service is SLOW & we were one of 3 couples inside. They also only had 4 people working. They didn't get our order right the first time or the second time & the staff doesn't communicate with each other. Someone was supposed to make the bagel & another a smoothie. When I went up to ask where those were, no one had any idea. They were all pointing fingered saying "He was supposed to make this." or "She was supposed to make that." We are locals and travel extensively for work. We've eaten at many Panera Bread restaurants but this is one of the worst. The staff, usually 6-7 young adults are disrespectful to customers. The quality of food and cleanliness of the restaurant are sub-par when compared to other Panera Bread locations. It's currently 4:25pm and there are 5 occupied tables, every other table in the restaurant is dirty. We are watching as the staff are conjugating behind the counter goofing and playing. read more

Food was good (like every other Panera). Try the Mexican corn chowder. They were busy, but definitely not horrible. We got there just around 11. Staff was rude. We are on vacation and it took the fun out of eating at this establishment. With so many good choices in the area, we won't be returning to a place to be treated rudely. read more

We usually love Panera (especially the Fuji Apple salad)... but this location at Pier Park seems to struggle. We usually order take-out, and our orders always have at least one big mistake. Also they are usually OUT of key ingredients by 5:00 pm -- like, out of BREAD for sandwiches (!), or out of greens for salads. They close at 7:00 pm. This might be due to the fact that it is hard to staff any business on the Florida Panhandle because you can't find workers... OR could be because this Panera is completely out of food by then anyway?? The manager is usually there and he seems like a decent chap... not sure what the problem is. read more
