Stopped by Panetteria E Stuzzicheria in Florence and waited about 40 minutes in line. The shop is tiny, but each sandwich is huge, so sharing is a must. The space is casual and cozy, perfect for a quick bite with friends while enjoying the bustling energy of the street. The staff were friendly and efficient, making sure everything was prepared just right. They cut the sandwiches right in front of you and show you the sandwich before packing them. We ordered 4 sandwiches, and each one was amazing. The breads were fresh and perfectly toasted, the meats and ingredients high quality, and every bite was juicy and flavorful. The sandwiches were hearty and satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable for the portion and quality. Overall, Panetteria E Stuzzicheria is a must-visit in Florence. Delicious, generously sized sandwiches, excellent ingredients, and great value. Definitely plan to share and come hungry.

I studied abroad in Florence about 10 years ago and all antico vinaio was always the go to spot for sandwiches, but coming back to Florence I decided to give this place a try and it was so good. Dare I say I like this even more!? They toast the focaccia bread so it's perfectly crispy and has that satisfying crunch and texture when biting into it. Then ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I told my husband I need to go back once more before leaving. It left such a lasting impression. My husband and I shared the la Giotto which was more than enough for the both of us to share!

Okay, I was heavily influenced by TikTok for this lunch venture, and I was a bit let down. There was a huge line (not as long as other sandwich shops nearby), but it took 45 minutes to get food. Staff seem annoyed at being so busy. And I think my expectations were too high. It's good, but it's not my particularly favorite style of sandwich I guess. Prices are SO good though. You can easily share 1 sandwich for under €10. We made the mistake of getting 1 each and wasted half. It's a tiny little place, and you have to squeeze in and out.

Line moves fast, and these sandwiches are huge. One is enough for two people, or you can save it for another meal. Definitely try it.

I promise you... wait in the line. It's WORTH IT. We don't like meat, and got the caprese sandwich (and added pesto to it). Staff was friendly, and the line moved fast!

Went to several sandwich shops in Florence, including the "famous" one with the long lines. THIS was the BEST in the city: crispy, creamy so, so ,yummy. We went back the next day and grabbed some for the train to Naples. Skip the other lines amd cone straight here, get the Golonosa, and enjoy!! Thank me later

Bresaola and stracciatella with tomato pesto. SO good!

Went for lunch one day and split the bresaola + stracciatella + tomato pesto panino. And wow, it was SO good!! Likely top 5 sandwiches of my life. And only ~10 euro for a giant sandwich that fed two people. The employees were kind and patient, even given the longggg line outside. Cute, traditional salumeria vibes inside the space. Would highly recommend this place for a delicious panino!

We had a couple of these classic Florentine sandwiches while in Florence and these ones were our second favorite! Very good and pretty fairly priced. There's a place down the street with very, very long lines but we had a very quick wait here. This place is really just as good for a 1/4 of the wait time. Would certainly come back. Fun vibes sitting on the street and eating.

We got and shared the "La Firenze" sandwich. There's ham, pecorino, truffle cream, tomato, and arugula in the sandwich and this sandwich was absolutely delicious. :D It's probably one of the best sandwiches that I have had thus far. There was a small line when we went to order our sandwich and we waited about 10-15 minutes on the line. By the time we finished eating, the line was pretty long during the lunchtime hours. There's also some seating outside and inside the sandwich shop. We just stood across the street and ate our sandwich. I'm definitely coming back one day to have their sandwiches again! Highly recommended.

Food to-go in Italy?!? Delicious sandwiches, large portions and great pricing! Your eyes will be bigger than your stomach, but one sandwich is enough to share. The line is worth the wait, especially when you're offered samples. Don't worry, it moves fast though.

Their $3 marinara pizza by the water

A little hidden gem for quick, cheap, and delicious food. Even though I was in Florence for only 3 days I went back twice for their marinara pizza. A small personal pizza is $3 and it's the perfect amount for me. Even though the pizzas were left out on the counter and heated up in a small oven after you order, I was still pleasantly suprised by the quality of their pizzas. The dough was very fluffy and airy - much better than some of the more famous pizza ppaces (like gusta pizza). I would recommend taking it to go and enjoying it by the water :)

You are looking for a fast served and tasty meal while cruising from one museum to the next? Your quest is done. This place has it all, fir a small price and friendly service. A big piece of a delicious pizza and a cold soft drink for less than 4 Euro, simply awesome.

Super fresh pizzeria. The staffs here are very friendly and there is many selection. I love the calzone and pizza here and it also good for the price. It uses local ingredients and it is very traditional italy cuisine.I would like to go here often.

American/Aussie owned bakery brunch spot by the river, such a cute little eatery. We loved our visit and though it's definitely more of a touristy spot, as most customers spoke English, the food was delicious to forgo the tourist trappy vibes. We shared a plate and added some items as we didn't want to get too stuffed on our first day of Florence. We had the Nduja Eggs plate with bacon and avocado added. Nduja is a spicy Calabrian pepper spreadable pork sauce, and oh boy was it so flavorful. If I remembered correctly, Melaleuca spread this sauce on top of a fried bread and eggs. I don't see it on the menu at the moment and it's probably a rotatable dish... but it definitely kicked started my hunt for the sauce. Since this is a spreadable pork, it's not something I could bring back to the US but I was able to find it online back home. The service was amazing and the beverages were delicious. Like many Italian places, the dining room is small and bathroom is a single small room that might require a small wait if they're busy. Didn't get to try their baked goods this last time, but definitely on our list to go back for more when we're back to Florence for a visit.

I had calamari and fried fish with fries. It fine enough. It neither dish had any flavor. I utilized a lot of salt, pepper, and lemon. Then it was edible. My sons had for starter's: the anchovies, tuna slices, and tuna tartar. I tasted the anchovies and surprisingly they were amazing. They put all the flavor and seasoning in the anchovies and tuna fish slices. The tuna fish had flavor but it still had that fish tuna taste. It was seasoned well though. I didn't try the tuna tartar but my son said it was good. It was over a bed of chopped up cantaloupe. The tartar was marinated and very flavorful. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't really memorable for me. I wouldn't be interested in going back. The staff was attentive and joyful. They played songs from the Mama Mia soundtrack and customers and staff members sang along. I may have picked the wrong thing but my family enjoyed what they had.

This place was inviting as it was lit and the pastries and desserts were so inviting. We didn't have a cannoli yet and their cannoli was just calling our name from the glass window. Caffe Neri is a small narrow shop with various goods from sandwiches to pastries to desserts and also coffee. We opted for the cannoli and a specialty cake that they are known for. Both were not too expensive and was just okay. Oddly enough, I've had better cannoli in Philadelphia. The sponge cake was just a sponge cake. It's a quaint little shop, good to try a few things, but nothing exceptional in my eyes.

They have a wide assortment of gluten free goodies -- from cookies to pies to savory bread-based delights. It's all priced quite fairly, too. I came in around 6pm on a Friday, and the kind woman behind the counter advised me to come back in the morning because they had more things in the mornings. I was sincerely baffled and said-- wait, more?! To me, they had a ton of great options even at 6pm! Apparently the cases are packed full in the mornings and if you want your best pick of the lot, go then. But if you're like me and not able to do that for whatever reason, you'll still find plenty! I can't have gluten or dairy. Sometimes it's hard to find dairy free goodies in a gluten free bakery. Not so with Starbene! They had cookies, pies and tarts as well as some bread-based savory items -- all clearly marked as without dairy. Grazie, Starbene!! Made my whole night! I ended up getting some cookies (3 for 1€) -- they were almost like thumbprints, with blackberry jam filling and with chocolate hazelnut filling. So. Good. I also got an apricot jam tart (~3€, I think). It was also delicious! The apricot jam was just the right amount of sweet and the crust was perfectly flakey. Plus, there was a heart shape on top which was just the sweetest little detail. I also got a focaccina, which was kind of like a bread roll pizza without cheese or sauce. It was super good! I took it up to Piazzale Michelangelo and enjoyed it with a view of the city. Perfection! My next visit to Florence, Starbene's will be a must do. No question about it. Gluten free friends, get yourselves over there and enjoy!
