Went to this place because of the good reviews however left feeling a bit underwhelmed and disappointed. The vegetable tempura and it was crispy however I've never had bell pepper in tempura so that really threw me off. We also go the spicy edamame which was a bit too sweet and saucy. The udon noodles were cooked well but also the stir fry was heavy in sauce. We also got a shrimp tempura rice bowl, which again tempura was great but the ratio with rice was way off. Overall food was okay. Service was great but not sure we would be returning. read more

We came in with a group of friends from our cruise ship to try Pho and Ramen. I used yelp to get directions. It was hard to find as this restaurant is a combination of Vietnamese Pho and Ramen. There were some tables outside and a customer informed us this is the right place we were looking for. Our waiter arranged a table for us as we had a group of seven. The service was friendly and immensely helpful as we looked at the menu that has two sides, one for pho and another for ramen. This is a 2 in 1 restaurant. Yes, it has ramen and Vietnamese along with a bar. It is a decent sized restaurant that has 2 entries. Ambiance is not much to speak of. Their menu has 2 sides, one side for ramen and the other for Vietnamese They have also clearly marked vegetarian dishes and have a separate portion. We ordered Golden egg roll, crispy and crunchy as it should be. Vegetable Tempura was slightly battered, with little oil than I like but tasty. Stir fry soft noodle soup with vegetables Veggie Miso Ramen Vegetable curry with rice All the dishes were perfect, right quantity, service was quick too. I can see they are understaffed, and it shows. I can go back anytime without second thought. The entire family enjoyed it. read more

Very pleased with the Saigon restaurant. Kind of unusual it's two restaurants in same place Vietnamese and Japanese sharing the same men one place on each side of menu.Didn' t have anything from the Japanese side but if it's is as good as the Vietnamese side it's must be excellent. They several good imported beers on tap and also wine and sake ( my wife had sake).As for our food my wife had a chicken broth with noodles she was very pleased, her cousin had garlic beef plate said it was delicious, I had the pho soup really yummy I added hot sauce to mine. I was craving pho, and we found Saigon while in town for the weekend. Interestingly, this Vietnamese restaurant is merged with Sachi, a Japanese ramen spot, so while I got the rare beef pho, my partner opted for the chicken ramen. My rare beef pho was decent: portions were huge and I appreciated tons of rice noodles inside. However, I did find the beef to be tough and not very enjoyable and the broth, while flavorful, was too oily. Service was kind and checked in on us a few times to make sure we were doing well. Luv this place, vermicelli is so good & fresh. Pho is amazing and broth is fantastic. Luv the fresh basil and mint, great fish sauce. Cute place in nice neighbourhood, very fast service and usually pretty busy. Pretty reasonable prices with large portions, happy hour has great deals. read more

I've been here a couple of times, and the food is fairly good! Definitely satisfies the craving of pho if you're from OC and missing the authentic Vietnamese food. I only give it 4 stars because I didn't care for the broth as much, but overall a good place to go to! read more

Saigon used to have two locations, a 5 point location and one on state street. I was surprised to find out that Saigon had merged with sachi ramen! I was a little bit hesitant because sachi ramen was never my favorite place but I LOVE Saigon. So I decided to give it a try and SHIVER ME TIMBERS I am glad I did. The service was BEYOND amazing. The food was even better than I remembered. I was mad at myself for getting full to quickly. The restaurant at first glance walking in seemed unassuming and maybe a bit quiet but it quickly because buzzing with patrons as it was lunch time. I will be coming back every visit I make because this place is unforgettable and in the best way possible! read more

Everything was amazing, food, service, quality, atmosphere. Just the best. Night prior we had a horrible experience elsewhere, so we didn't expect much but this place blew us out of the water. We asked if we could bring in our kid's burger because she really wanted it and I felt bad, I hate bringing food into other places but she said no problem! It made us feel at ease. The prices were fantastic, everything that came out made us so happy we couldn't help but order more. The waitress was one of the nicest ladies I have ever met and she made the kids feel at ease. Each roll or dish that came was so flavorful and tasty we ended up ordering a ton to take home for dinner! We spent almost half of what we did the night prior elsewhere and got twice the amount of food if not more and had some of the best service ever! WE WIL BE BACK! Yum! I went here for the first time on Valentine's Day for dinner on a date. We immediately found a table and a server came over promptly to ask our drinks. The menu was expansive and I had a hard time choosing between the ahi poke bowl and the teriyaki chicken bowl. I ultimately chose the ahi poke and my date ordered the chicken ramen bowl. All of the employees, including the owner, are very friendly and welcoming. My poke bowl was superb! I was craving Pho, so ordered carry out. The restaurant is located on busy Chapala, and it can be hard finding street parking depending on time of day. It is unusual to order Pho and have to pay extra for vegetables. I was just looking for a traditional shrimp pho. Imagine my surprise where I was asked to build my own soup, with the only option of beef or chicken broth for my shrimp pho. Add another five bucks for vegetables. The soup quickly added up in cost. The soup itself had two pieces of shrimp, and uncooked and uncut bok choi. I didn't realize they were going to serve me a plant. My husband ordered beef and broccoli, but there was little broccoli! And he was miserable all night after eating. I hate to say it, but they may be using MSG because he had a bad reaction to the food. I'm just looking for a traditional restaurant that serves traditional, clean Pho in town. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not fulfill my Pho fantasy. read more

This place is a long-time favorite of mine but I almost always come here for the Vienamese Pho. But it's kind of dual-culture cuisine, the other being Japanese. I'm not a huge fan of Ramen, but I noticed on the menu this tomato vegetable soup with a kind a Ramen sensibility: a rich tomato broth, but with Ramen ingredients such as beef and soft-boiled egg as offered add-ons. At just $15 the tomato soup is a bargain, butt adding eggs and beef make it a stellar combo, and still under $20. The tomato soup itself is chock full of thick-cut veggies such as onions, celery, carrot, cabbage, bamboo shoots, and chunky tomato. The beef was thin cut and served medium rare, Pho-style, and the soft boiled egg was a perfect Ramen egg. My new go-to combo! read more

Solid restaurant, fair prices, nice atmosphere (if not just a little cramped), with tvs scattered around and lovely lighting. And the food was great. I ordered the classic rare beef pho and it was good by itself, but amazing when I altered it to my taste with all the sauces they provided. The meat was tender and the soup was nicely seasoned. I understand why some would say the service lacked, however I think that the restaurant is just very busy and the staff is a bit overwhelmed. Once we waved down a server we were greeted, sat, and served very quickly. The hostess had a bit of an attitude but she was also dealing with to-go orders so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. The thai tea was very tasty and refreshing. Only complaint is that the portions were so big I couldn't have possibly finished in one sitting, but they provided a perfect little to-go soup container for me to use. read more

I got food poisoning from eating here. I ate a soup with salmon in it. It was I was horribly sick right away which indicated it was staph food poisoning. This is caused by the employees not washing their hands. My girlfriend wrote a review to let the business know and instead of apologizing they reported her review to get it deleted 3 times... Came in to order my curry, egg rolls and a Thai tea. My coworker who paid separately also ordered a Thai tea but they forgot to add it in her order but gave her her Thai tea regardless without our knowledge of their negligence of not adding it into her receipt..came back to order more food for my other coworker who also ordered a Thai tea. When I recieved the last order it did not come with a Thai tea so I asked politely about the tea. The cashier lady as well either two other workers stated that we didn't pay for it. Without my knowledge that she didn't charge my coworker for her tea I was completely confused. They decided to make a big stink over $5 tea that was their fault in the first place. Accusing us of not paying in front of other customers when we clearly paid for all of our food in the first place. Three of them arguing with us for a $5 tea that made me not ever want to go back. The egg rolls were also very underwhelming. I don't know if this is the same Saigon from 5 points but I'll never go back. read more
