I'm always craving pho from Saigon, literally all the time. Always consistently good. I get the combination pho, and my boyfriend loves the pineapple fried rice. We share a sampler platter because we can never decide at app we want, it has a little bit of everything. We love the chili oil on EVERYTHING. I got the tai pho and the noodles were a little on the overcooked side but the broth had good flavor. The service was ok, took awhile for server to take my order but once my order was placed, I received my order in less than 5 minutes. Come here often for reliable, well-priced Vietnamese food. The pho and vermicelli are consistently solid--nothing mind-blowing, but definitely above average for the area. Saigon Noodle House; Goleta, CA Ordered: Special Combination Pho Bún (Vermicelli) Chicken fried rice Review: As soon as you step into the doors, there is a sign that says to take a menu from the basket & take a seat wherever you want. I appreciate being able to choose our own seats, but the menus are printed on regular paper & tri-folded. Most menus have gotten wet & are wrinkly and/or stained. That should have been the first red flag... Special Combination Pho- The pho was very underwhelming. The broth came out dark, which indicates that they leave the pho spice bag way too long in the pot before taking it out. The broth tasted heavily of spices, particularly cinnamon, which overpowered the beef flavor of the broth (you couldn't taste the beef flavoring at all). They only give you a small pinch of bean sprout, 1 basil stem, & 2 thin slices of jalapeños. The size regular ($15) is really small compared to other places, so I recommend just getting the large ($16) for $1 extra if you truly wanted to give the pho a chance. Rating: 2/10. Bún (Vermicelli)- The bowl first came out visually appetizing. I poured the chili sauce that came with the bún into the bowl & as I was mixing the sauce into the bún, I noticed the oil from the meat that was under all the veggies. After incorporating the sauce into the bún, the whole bowl became oily & there was no flavor to the bowl whatsoever. I also specifically asked the server for no bean sprout & they served us the bowl with bean sprout. There was no attention to detail at all. Additionally, the sauce bowl was cracked from top to bottom (picture attached), so sauce was spilling all over the table. Rating: 2/10. Chicken fried rice- The fried rice came at a good portion size with enough pieces of chicken in it. The only thing I would say they could do better is with the seasoning- the fried rice was on the saltier side. Although they do serve it with a side of their pho broth with 4 pieces of small, cubed tofu in it, the broth is overpowered by the strong cinnamon flavoring & it does not pair well with the salty fried rice. Rating: 4/10. Overall, I would not return to Saigon Noodle House. The food is below average, the staff's attention to customer's requests go unnoticed, & it left a bad taste in our mouth (no pun intended). read more

Best Pho in town. Generous servings. Shrimp pho had more than double the shrimp of a rival's pho less than 1/2 mile away. The rice plates were enormous and the beef very tender and flavorful. Yum! My cousin goes to UCSB & said this place was very delicious, so I had to give it a shot. The waitresses are attentive & helpful. The pho is delicious! There is no really a time of day, any time and every time are always a good time! The service is not really the best, but it's got my approval. I mean we all have bad days! I love the food and prices here, but unfortunately I suffered food poisoning from eating here on my birthday. The business has since taken the proper steps with the public health department. The manager was very kind to me in dealing with this situation and called to apologize and refund me for my meal and medical expenses. It's extremely unfortunate that this happened but I believe that following the incident they handled it as best they could. Updated this review on 3/26 after speaking with the manager. read more

Love, love this place! Our faves are their Combination Pho which comes in regular and large sizes. Their egg rolls which comes in either 2 or 4 pieces per order plus their number 34 (Chicken and rice). For the drinks, their milk tea and Vietnamese coffee are our favorites. In terms of customer service, it is warm and friendly especially Anna who warmly greets customers both the regulars and new ones. A homey place with good food. We were told that effective February 8, 2022, they will close every Tuesdays. Just sharing this update, so this place is open all days EXCEPT for Tuesdays starting tomorrow. read more

Decent prices and friendly people. I had the pho with brisket and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The broth was full of flavor, packed with meat, with large portions. The coffee wasn't bad, but not great either. I'm grateful that nobody laughed at my feeble attempts to eat my pho with the little spoon. If I had attempted using the chopsticks I suspect they wouldn't have been able to hold back the laughing and pointing. read more

I just want to say this review is for take-out. I came in and ordered at the back register. The guy who took my order was super nice and gave me recommendations. I ordered the #8 Chin, Nam and two sides of noodles for my kids. They packaged everything so well and nothing spilled on the drive home. The food was extremely salty! I got Pho Tai ($9.50) and the broth came out very dark and a lot of msg as it made me thirsty. We also got rice with bbq pork and egg loaf ($10.50). It's regular steam rice not broken rice. The meat was not grilled, it was pan fried and really tough. It was salty and so was the egg loaf and fish sauce. I had to squeeze a lot of lemon into my broth. I have to admit that this place was busy. I was also disgusted that they reuse take out paper menus. The bathroom was also dirty and no more hand soup. I hope the employees have another sink that they use because the soap bottle was completely out and someone prior had poured water in to dilute it. Didn't work, it's just all water. read more

I'm honestly quite surprised this place only has 3 stars. Being someone that has eaten Vietnamese food my whole life, this has to be one of the best pho spots in Goleta/ SB. It tastes very authentic and not super whitewashed. The pho had a really deep depth and flavor and was delicious! I recommend getting Pho Tai (rare thin steak) so good! I prefer this place over Pho Bistro in IV. This is a family owned business that has great service, friendly workers, and amazing food. Coming on a busy, rainy night, we were quickly seated. It's spacious with a range of booths and tables for families to sit. This restaraunt is located in the shopping center of Target. I ordered a Thai tea and Chicken pho. My friend had the brisket pho. Both amazing choices with a great size for a regular & we were happy with the toppings they had.
