The breakfast here is really good. I would recommend the roots skillet to anybody looking for a veggie-filled, healthy morning dish. However, I went for supper not too long ago to try out their new menu. I had a the butternut squash ravioli and to tell you the truth, I really didn't care for it. I also heard that the chicken tacos weren't great either. While the food wasn't as amazing as I had my expectations set for, it did spark a new love of butternut squash for me so I'll have to thank them for that. Overall the atmosphere is friendly and warm. Had actually heard about the cafe through my hair stylist in Waconia. So nice that something unique like this in Waconia. Best. Orange. Juice. Ever. for real - you must try it. As a person that eats out multiple times/week, I am now compelled to write a review for the first time. We decided to try their breakfast and were very disappointed. We sat down at about 9:30AM and finally finished after 10:40AM due to extremely poor service. We had to ask for them to please take our order and we ran out of water and coffee multiple times. One of our meals was dropped on the floor in the kitchen (we heard it and the waitress confirmed it was one of our plates and apologized) it happens I understand. Meanwhile for the next 20-25 minutes our other meal sat under the heat rack. When the food finally came one was piping hot while the other was nearly room temperature. By now we were very hungry and just ate our food. I considered sending it back but we didn't have the patience to wait another forever and our waitress never came to see how our food was. Once we finished our meal now one showed up to bring us our check (at this point we came to expect this) so we walked up to pay. They asked how our meal was and I said "mine was a bit cold" and the reaction was "uh sorry bout that." Our bill was $26 and I'm not going to lose sleep over it but at the least act like you care about your customers because there are plenty of other places to eat. Bottom line: the food, if it wasn't cold, actually seemed pretty good but the complete lack of customer service was unbelievable. We may try this place again at some point to see if it was a one time thing or a trend. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Waconia. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here numerous times. I think I've probably had just about everything on their menu, and I can honestly tell you that there is nothing on this menu that isn't great! The old building that it's located in just adds to the character and atmosphere. Love this place! read more

Eat. Here. Now. I've had both breakfast and lunch and both menus are a-ma-zing! I am not a breakfast person and when I do eat breakfast out, it's eggs, toast, meat. At Pangea, I want to try everything on the menu! Especially the Sake Bloody Mary! I had the walleye sandwich for lunch and my husband had the grilled chicken sandwich. We spent most of our lunch arguing about who had the better lunch and the rest of the time eyeballing the other lunches coming out of the kitchen. We both already know what we're getting next time (poached pear salad for me-chicken lettuce wraps for him). Plus, you can get a glass of (good!) wine or a beer! The staff is terrific and ready and willing to take the time to offer their opinions, if you're like my husband and want to hear extensive descriptions of each and every thing on the menu. While visiting my sis and family recently we enjoyed a delicious breakfast here one Sunday morning. Everything we ordered was tasty and the service was (almost) impeccable. We ran into some difficulty with a young waitress who (politely, but still...) argued with us about whether the toast we were served was the sourdough we ordered or light-rye we received. read more

Went here for lunch at noon on a Saturday. We arrived at a little before noon, placed our order shortly after and waited 35-40mins for our food . They were only about half full, and while the servers were working hard, the food was just super slow to come out. Might be better to hit them up at slower times until they figure out how to handle a Saturday crowd. Too long to wait when you have two hungry kids waiting with you! read more

I went to Pangea for the first time today and I have to say it was amazing! The food was just awesome! Definitely worth the price which wasn't terrible for the quality. The only thing is getting our food was a little slow, but our waitress made sure we were taken care of and not forgotten! We love this place and will be back for sure! We stopped by today for breakfast on a whim. Our family was pleasantly surprised at the warm, yet refreshingly hip atmosphere. Great food and coffee are a pre- req for a good breakfast joint and this cafe definitely hit the mark! I could tell the menu was well thought out and the food was well executed. For only being open for 3 months, I am pretty impressed. We are happy to see we have a new go- to breakfast place for the weekends, seriously. Yippee! Finally a fantastic breakfast/brunch place in an area that until this has been a bit of a desert for good options. I had a superb eggs benedict dish with a perfect, light hollandaise sauce, husband had corned beef hash with big, juicy chunks of corned beef. Great service, good coffee, fun and funky decor. My husband and I had breakfast at Pangea this morning. It was fabulous. I had an omelette and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. We also ordered Carmel rolls. All was really good. We were so full when we walked out. Also, great staff. Our waitress was so nice it made the entire experience great. We will be back! read more

I give this place a poor review. I left so disappointed in this place and the management. We ordered take out, went to pick up our food. They realized that they had given our order to someone else who left with it. They proceeded to tell us that the person that took the food is a regular, on her way back, and that she didn't touch the food. We requested new fresh food since we had waited so long anyways, and that our food left the facility. They struggled to give us a response for our request, and told us that there was nothing wrong with the food. The lady gave us our food and the manager was behind the counter listening and did nothing. The waitress assured us our food was okay, and we left with the cold food. Shame on them for not fulfilling our request, not refunding us, and leaving us with cold food. I have worked at restaurants in the past, never once did we give someone else food that had already left, we took it upon ourselves to make fresh food. They did not try to solve the problem, only to make it through lunch rush. I will never eat here again. Food has always been good, however, this situation has left me furious. read more

We went for lunch, but they serve breakfast through lunch as well. I had the Harvest Club. It was generous in size and the focaccia bread was delicious. I took half of it home. They have sooo many breakfast options, we will likely go back with the kids for a weekend breakfast. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their lunch offerings, too. read more
