We saw the movie IF and after crying at the movie I needed a coffee pick me up. The service was so friendly and very helpful. I had the lucky monkey and my husband had the nutty monkey and we split a cinnamon roll. Cute seating inside and gorgeous pottery for sale. We also bought two mugs we are using for coffee at home.

Such a quaint and local coffee place in downtown Waconia. Loved the array of coffee, latte and mocha choices. The staff were relaxed and polite. I appreciated that because we were drinking our coffee there, I was able to get a beautiful hand crafted mug. The quiche was phenomenal and was perfect size for 2 people to share.

Best coffee shop around town! I grew up in Waconia so I remember when the downtown location was the only one! Make sure to check our their monthly specials if you want to try something new. Mocha monkey is the perfect place to get ahead on homework! Jon is also an experienced pottery maker so if you need a gift idea stop in and check out their mugs! Not a coffee drinker? They have Italian soda and you can choose any syrup to add and make it your own!

Mocha Monkey is a staple of Waconia. Never disappointed with their drinks and good vibes all around. I usually go with the americano, but I switched it up and tried the Rhesus Monkey Mocha which was phenomenal. Great place to catch up with friends and family!!

After hearing so many good things about this place, I had to stop in when I had a few minutes in the area. Now, I wish I lived closer. I got the Lucky Monkey, which is white chocolate and mint, made with oat milk. It was amazing! So creamy and delicious. The espresso was nice and smooth. Price was great. I didn't have time to sit down inside, but it was gorgeous in there, and if I were a local, I'd be there all the time.

The Iced Mocha I ordered was Warm. Not at all cold. Disappointing. Don't think they are very adroit @ iced coffee drinks. Location makes bank runs with children a lil more tolerable. #CheatCode bribe the kids with a Rice crispy treat lol

So another fiver for MM a refreshing surprise in downtown Waconia. I was expecting something cool as I recently saw a TV story on innovative small businesses and this place was highlighted. In a well preserved old green house there is counter seating with a window view and a few tables, but there is more seating up the wooden stair case. Check the huge wall menu which is all but a mural. A large pastry case and made to order items. It was warm, (both temperature and genial) and they own a drive through in Waconia and another shop in St. Bonifacius. Air pot coffee which I usually approach carefully but the brew was hot and fresh.

Cute local coffee shop with some pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and gelato! I love the inside and that they support local artists with their pottery as small wood tables. The jungle mocha was delicious and I also really liked their cold press coffee. Excited to return for some gelato and chill in their spacious upstairs for work!

Was charged twice for a drink and was refused a refund/another drink when showing the receipt and card history.

Ended up sitting at the bar, which is fine, we're bar folks. But let's talk about the chairs, which I know seems an odd thing to write about. SOMEONE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT! Chef Pedro took our order (bonus points) and we had a lovely conversation about New Orleans. The menu here has a lot of New Orleans food intertwined. Based on where Pedro previously worked in New Orleans, he has an outstanding culinary background. I was going to order the Muffaletta, which can be served hot or cold, but they were out. When I heard why, I was impressed. In New Orleans, the gold standard of bread is Leidenheimer. Minnesota doesn't have the same bread (Trung Nam Bakery is the closest substitute). Pedro uses Leidenheimer for his Muffalettas. Pedro also makes his own olive salad. I am looking forward to trying a Muffaletta. My husband ordered the Zambon Dip and really enjoyed it. I had the Herb Brooks Focaccia. It was great. Big portions. What is really funny is I knew the North Stars as I worked at the Met Center. Fun memorabilia too. On street parking and some tables outside. What we used to call a neighborhood joint. Stop in and say hi to Pedro. Now I just wish he would make Gumbo with some okra and filé.

It's well away from the beaten path of downtowners, tourists, and suburbanites and I think it can truly represent what locals like in a deli. There are some great sounding sandwich combinations on the menu. Unfortunately, during my inaugural visit, they could not make some of them because they were out of key ingredients. That seems a little lame for a shop that only does sandwiches but it gives me an excuse to go there again to give it a try. What I did taste (a Dino Italian Sub and a North Star Deluxe) were well above average. Maybe not legendary but certainly exceeding a typical sandwich from a chain franchise. The prices were also about 1/3 higher than a typical chain franchise but I guess you get what you pay for. I liked the hockey themed schtick of the place and the young guys manning the lunch rush could all pass for avid hockey stars which fits the theme since the shop seems to be named after the old MN pro hockey team (North Stars). The only thing that was not super authentic about them were the lack of extreme mullets and they all seemed to have a full set of teeth. The sandwiches are fairly large, messy, and tasty. There are some great sidewalk tables to enjoy your lunch on a nice day. They even provide local hot sauce (Cry Baby Craigs) on the table which is very un-Minnesotan due to its spicy kick. What's not to like? If in the area, this is a definite recommendation to change up your lunchtime boredom with the same old same old.
