Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh, homemade cookies, and warm weather to survey the property. We enjoyed our afternoon at the dock, overlooking the lake, and then enjoyed a nice hike! The weather was warm and sunny- but by the next morning, we had hail, rain, and snow! That morning Rebecca ventured out in the snow to bring us our tasty breakfast! The waffles and eggs and bacon could not be beat! We made our own coffee in the room, plus she provided orange juice in our refrigerator. (She stocks the kitchenette with tea, coffee, cream, and sugar.) By that morning, power was going on and off but they thankfully kept it on with their generators! Whether sunshine, rain, or snow-- we stayed cozy and loved it! We tackled the snow and left, but we will be back to Three Falls Cove and stay longer stay next time!

i was visiting Amarillo for a week and needed to get my runs in while training for a marathon and…read moreone of the closest trails and parks was Medi Park on the north side of town in the medical district. There's a large playground, the Amarillo Botanical Garden next door and a 1 mile loop around the pond which made it easy to do my runs. I was warned about the geese infestation and the possibility of geese poop on the trail. I didn't see any while I was visiting, but I thought that was worth noting. There's an extended part of the trail but you have to cross traffic for it, so the one mile loop worked best for me. A lot of people were walking the trail through my three visits, a school bus was there with kids in the playground and on Saturday plenty of people were fishing in the pond. A really great and well maintained park!

I stopped by not expecting much, and ended up staying longer than planned. The lake in the middle is calm and relaxing, with ducks waddling around like they own the place (and honestly, they do). There's a playground that kids were loving, plenty of open space, and shady spots to kick back. Everything was clean, safe, and just felt easy. Whether you want to stretch your legs, feed the ducks, or just enjoy some sunshine, Medi Park is one of those simple, happy places that makes a town feel like home. Five stars, no doubt.

They also stock variety of beer and sodas plus ice and just about any snack you could possibly need. The owners go above and beyond from the moment you walk into the store making you feel welcome. If you dont see what you need just ask and they will do there best to get items in for next time you stop by this great establishment. Lets not forget they also have a RV park on site. Just a few minutes away from the lake and boat dock. Make sure to stop in and say hello.

We hiked through the entire North Prong Trail which totaled about 7 miles and it was truly gorgeous. There were some difficult moments at points, but nothing I couldn't do. The weather was nice, there was plenty of parking to head into the trails, and I had a great time. The Canyons are absolutely stunning and mesmerizing know this is hidden away in Texas. A day pass is $8.00 and is good till 10:00PM (you can leave and come back). They give you a map as well. You can drive the whole thing and see a lot from your car. There's also plenty of pull-offs for picture opportunities. For ones that like hiking, there's plenty of that there. I'm not big into hiking, and I also didn't pack to do so. Lol. There is cave you see from the road, and if you want you can do a short hike to it. I wasn't on planning really hiking anywhere but this was short enough. Easy to get up, going down you have to be a lil careful. Good place for pictures too. Camping ground are available too. Anyways, if you're in town visiting or never have been there, I definitely recommend it!
