    Torta Cubana

Stopped by this place at random today and it was ok. I ordered myself a torta cubana today and it had very little to practically no pineapple which saddened me :( I love pineapple in my torta cubana & I asked the server if it came with pineapple & she said it did. The torta itself was good, different from other torta cubana's that I've tried but it was decent. It had lots of chorizo, Milanesa, & little bit of Ham. The place is small, but was kept tidy & clean. I didn't get to try their bakery items, but they sure looked tasty. This place doesn't have a menu for you to look through as you sit, it's an order at the counter type of place. Overall this place was ok. I give it a 3 because it seemed a bit pricey at $11 for a torta & no drink, I wasn't given napkins, & my torta lacked pineapple.

Pollo torta de tamal. This is a tamale in between their in house baked torta bread. Stuffed with onion and mayonnaise.

TL;DR 11/10, great first impression, will definitely be coming back to explore more of what amazing creations this place has to offer. Literally just walked in on a whim today. I come from an area where authentic Mexican culture is not really common. So I decided that, on a rainy day, I'm going to experience an authentic panderia for the first time. The girl behind the counter was really helpful in explaining some of the different foods they specialized in. That's when she pointed out the torta del tamal on the menu. I gave her my trust and ordered both the pork and chicken to go at $4 each; an amazing price. I collected my food while she muttered "hope you like it." Trust me I did. In the back of my mind I was sitting there thinking about the double carb and how consistency might clash, and wondered how onion and mayonnaise fits into this whole combo and so on and so forth. But the chaos of all these ringing questions were quelled upon impact of the first bite. Freshly baked torta bread with a warm tamale with tender meat in every bite almost like a patty, marinated in their respective sauces with a gentle bite from the sweet onion and savory finish from the mayonnaise. This is a simple delight that speaks directly to the soul. This place is one among few of the truly hidden gems that Costa Mesa has to offer. I'm glad that I got the chance today to begin a new expedition into a goldmine of culture and tradition baked fresh every day. If you don't believe me, take a chance and try it for yourself.

Ordered a tres leches from here for my baby shower and it was amazing! It was the most beautiful cake, moist, fresh and delicious! Super happy and cannot recommend enough.

Chocolate Dino Birthday Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting

We asked for a Dino birthday cake and they hit it out of the park! Our 4 year old was blown away by the design and our guests loved the flavor of the cake.

This is what I got... look at how crooked the lettering is and it doesn't even match the cake I showed them.

This was probably the worst cake I have ever gotten... I'm so disappointed, I asked them if they could make a cake the looks like this picture and they said yes no problem it would be easy. The cake they gave me was completely crooked and the lettering was not even centered... I ordered a tres leches cake and it was completely dry I would never recommend this place.. I paid way too much for an ugly looking dry cake.. so sad

I went on a Friday night and it was VERY lively! There was a band playing by the bar and it was packed! People were drinking, dancing, hanging out. All of this is happening in a supermarket! Lots of food vendors to check out and all of it looked delicious! I don't remember the names of the places my friend and I ordered food from, but I had a chile relleno burrita, seafood cocktail, and pozole. I've never really had chile relleno, so I decided to just go for it and try something different even though there were other options that were more my preference. It was alright. Good thing it was only $5. The seafood cocktail was delicious! They did not skimp on the seafood and everything in it tasted so fresh. Pozole wasn't terrible, but just like my burrita, it was a bit on the bland side. Maybe my palate skews too heavily towards salty, but I felt like a little salt here and there would've really improved the flavors in everything we ordered. Overall the quality/freshness was there! Regarding the market part, nothing special. Maybe a little more selection than your typical Northgate, especially in the liquor department. Their wall of tequila was impressive. I will definitely be back again to try the other foods! In fact, I may just come all the way out here to do grocery shopping from time to time. I saw a guy doing some shopping with a cocktail in his cart and I want to live that life. Bro definitely had the right idea.

During my recent visit, Wendy at cashier station 5 on 6.13.2026 at around 7:30pm provided extremely disrespectful service and openly stated that she did not care enough to learn the pricing codes while scanning items. This raises concerns about pricing accuracy, not only for me but for other loyal customers as well. Fortunately, the employee assisting with bagging demonstrated far more professionalism and took the initiative to correct the mistakes caused by Wendy's lack of attention and concern. I hope management addresses this issue, as customers deserve courteous service and confidence that they are being charged accurately.

It was so soft and cooked to perfection! It was almost sweet and the skin so flavorful. It was a side of white rice with a sweet tone to it and fresh veggies. I will definitely order this again! My friend had Chicken Fajitas and they were super yummy. I also had a Watermelon Cucumber Margarita and it was simply delicious. I will also order this again!

It has beautiful tropical decor with a huge bar area. There are also semi private dining rooms ,booth seating and patio seating . We chose to sit at the bar since we really wanted to get a drink and just relax and enjoy the vibe. The bartender came over to say hello and took our drink requests and also our food order as well. Got an appetizer of chicken taquitos which was really great generously stuffed with meat and drizzled wirh 3 tasty sauces ! We ordered a couple of drinks 1. Strawberry margarita 2. Cucumber cilantro margarita & two entrees. 1. Carnitas plate ( with rice & beans) 2. Spinach enchiladas ( with rice & beans) *Complimentary chips with salsa & BEAN DIP * The bean dip was so delicious that I hardly used the salsa which was good on its own. Although both entrees was good and satisfying and we could only eat half the meal . Great place for a meet up with friends ! I'm betting the bar scene is great in the pm! Only disappointment was that they don't offer Happy hour ( Sad face).
