Croquet Madame with chicken parm soup
    Angela B.

I love a local spot, and this one didn't disappoint. Clean and timeless diner vibes, friendly staff, specials, and great flavors and portions. The soup of the day, Chicken Parmesan was the star of my order, honestly. The freshest tomato with the perfect blend of spices and perfectly cooked chicken under the gooiest layer of cheese! As a bonus, apparently a perfect spot to watch the local 4th of July Parade too!

Food is excellent, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients and everything is made to order. It did take a bit for our food to come out, despite the business being pretty slow. Service was friendly, and the space itself has a cozy coffee house vibe. It's tucked into a shopping center and can be a little tough to find, but they do have their own parking lot on the side of the building. All in all a pretty good experience...that said, the prices were very expensive for what we got - two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees ran us just about $50.

We catered Panini Panini at work and it was phenomenal! Everyone loved the flavorful sandwiches, fresh salad, and fruit. There was a great variety for everyone. I tried half the grilled cheese and half the mushroom sandwich both were delicious! The staff is always kind and the atmosphere is cozy. If you haven't tried this local gem, you're missing out!

    Tuna fish panini--deliciously!

Delicious! Delicious! I ordered the tuna salad panini and it was huge! And hugely delicious. It also came with a tasty green salad (no iceberg here!) and a couple slices of fresh cantaloupe. I could only eat half the sandwich but I can attest that the other half was nearly as delicious for lunch the next day. I had also ordered a slice of the lemon tart, which the wrapped and pro-actively kept refrigerated for me. I sat on their outdoor patio, which was really nice, despite the day's heat, with flowers, greens, a Buddha and Ganesh statues. The service was tremendous--they even brought a bowl of water for my dog.

The lazy ceiling fans, the piano jazz quartet music just over the hum of the kitchen fans, the handwritten menus and specials boards, textured walls and ceiling and the character of impressionist art, the Euro-American cuisine, the delightful surprise dessert case, you would be forgiven for thinking you walked out of Michigan City into a 50-year old neighborhood classic favorite in Boston or New York City. Rich in character, Wonderful food (the Cubano were delicious, and my wife loved her chicken pest and French onion soup , friendly and reasonably fast service, great as a family or lunch spot (we visited with our 2, 3.5, and 5yo). Recommended by our Airbnb host and we pass it on to you.

Absolutely amazing food with stunning homemade bakery by the wonderful owner, Mars! The food is a triumph, caters for gluten free folks and the atmosphere and staff are fantastic. We can't wait to come back :)

What a divine little spot in Michigan City. Waze took us through some questionable neighborhood roads and we started to question if we were going the right way, but sure enough we found Panini Panini. It's a gem hidden in the community. I got the gluten free turkey club. It was delicious. The gluten free bread tasted like the real stuff - impeccable! Love their garlic sauce on the sandwich. Husband got a Ham and Swiss but subbed for cheddar. He also loved his sandwich. He said the crunchy bread was great. We both got Great Lakes kettle chips and Jones soda as well! I loved their homemade grape vinegarette! It paired perfectly with the side salad that as fresh shaved parm, tomato, and cucumber, and red onions. I could have had that as my whole meal. All together I think the meal was around $40 with the brownie. We loved it and the quality was definitely there. Would love to go back if we're ever in the area. Seems like it is well known by people in the area as there was a steady stream of people. Staff was also super nice! Check it out!

Quite surprised! Much more quality food than I anticipated. Food was wonderful. Atmosphere was cute and I loved the patio. For the prices, there was a lot of food. The staff was helpful and extremely friendly despite how busy they were! Would return and try all the things on the menu.

Loved the food, and big props to Thomas, I came in yesterday and had to return today after his outstanding service and cooking. He once again accommodated my allergies perfectly and even surprised me with two slices of cantaloupe that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ordered the mushroom truffle pasta and it was so comforting. The sauce was creamy with a rich earthy flavor from the mushrooms and truffle. I loved that the pasta itself was fresh and had a nice texture. There was a good amount of sauce without it being overly heavy. Our server was kind and gave us great wine suggestions to pair with it. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with warm lighting and soft background music. I'd definitely come back just for this dish.

Excellent lunch spot with Jones cola on the soda machine. The sandwiches were tasty and big enough to share

What a delicious little find! Sometimes, traveling with a dog leaves you with not so great options. Panini Panini delivered on all levels. Very friendly & attentive staff. Cute outside patio with umbrella covered tables. And the food - SO GOOD!! Ham Breakfast croissant- yes please. Breakfast BLT - amazing! Perfect & pretty vanilla latte. A huge water bowl brought table side for our furry friend. We really enjoyed it all & can't wait to come back!!

I ordered the White Fish dish and my wife had Tortellini with vodka sauce with added sausage crumbles. Both dishes were incredible and I'd strongly recommend. Now for the downside and the reason for only rating 4 stars. Prior to dinner we split a Zsa Zsa Salad. The menu describes this as having poached shrimp, asparagus bits, bacon, avocado, tomato with a Balsamic Vinaigrette. For some reason the shrimp decided to leave the plate before we got it. Without the shrimp, the salad was boring and pretty much flavorless. We would have liked it better had they used Romaine rather then the foliage we all used to discard before serving. We asked the Bartender about the missing shrimp and she put in an order for a side of shrimp. The side arrived after we had pretty much finished with the salad. Not complaining because we ate the shrimp as it was the best part. The surprise came when we received the bill which contained the $19.00 charge for the salad as well as a $10.00 charge for the side of shrimp. I pointed that out and it was promptly removed. In summary, I'd suggest a hard pass on this menu item. Not to leave this review on a sour note, we love Cafe Farina and as previously mentioned the entrees were both fantastic. As a side note, we tried their privately labeled Farina Valpolicella Red. Moderately priced and well worth it's $56.00 price. We will order that again.

Just a full serving of stanky attitude with a side of complete indifference -- and I didn't even order that. They've got 444 on the door. Angel numbers. Protection energy. Our group started with the pierogi appetizer, and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. They were perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and topped with sour cream, bacon, and onions. Super flavorful and hit the spot! For dinner, I ordered the Chicken & Bacon Jam Sandwich with sweet potato fries. While the chicken itself was tender, the bacon jam was much sweeter than I expected and ended up overpowering the sandwich. I was hoping for more of a savory flavor. The bottom bun also soaked up quite a bit of oil, making it pretty soggy and messy to eat. The sweet potato fries weren't quite my style either because they were heavily coated in sugar and tasted more sweet than savory. Unfortunately, neither is something I'd order again, even though both sounded great on the menu. We visited during a busy Saturday dinner rush, so our food took a while to arrive, but our server was friendly, attentive, and acknowledged the delay, which I always appreciate and understand! We sat outside on the patio, which was a fun place to spend the evening. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn't any music playing outdoors like there was inside, and I think that would have added a little more energy to the space. Overall, I don't want to knock this place too much because I genuinely think it's a great spot for Michigan City. Between the local beer selection, large menu, welcoming atmosphere, and outdoor seating, it's definitely worth a visit! I'd happily come back and try some different menu items next time!
