This is definitely not the place to go for atmosphere but the service was friendly. Biscuits and gravy was okay but could use more sausage. Do not ask for extra crispy hash browns because they might be a bit burnt. I did not care for the English muffin in the eggs benedict but the rest of it was okay. They do not make their own corned beef hash. The Meijer brand orange juice was not very good. If you have basil that is not in good condition, then shred it and leave out the bad parts. I think once was probably enough here.

Skillet with hash browns, biscuit, sausage patties, gravy and two eggs -- plentiful & delicious!

We were vacationing in the New Buffalo, MI area and having a difficult time finding an open breakfast place nearby on a Tuesday. After finding Lydia's online, we decided to take a drive and give it a try. When we entered, we definitely got the feeling Lydia's is a comfortable gathering place for locals. We were greeted, chose a table and placed our drink orders. Our server was friendly and efficient. My better half opted for the breakfast burrito covered with sausage gravy and accompanied by hash browns (off the posted specials board) and I went with a skillet (can't recall the name) stacked with hash browns, open-faced biscuit, sausage patties, gravy and two over easy eggs. Our food was served promptly and both were delicious in a very satisfying, down home cookin' comfort kind of way. The portions were huge; we could've easily gotten three meals out of each! If you're good and hungry, Lydia's will feed you well -- reasonably priced, too!

Western omelette was very good. I tasted my husbands gravy and it was good as well. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Toast was burnt and cold. Ask for fresh and hot toast. Server was nice.

Eggs Benedict: inside almost a hardboiled egg. Good flavor but that egg HAS to be runny for a real eggs Benedict. Disappointing.

A hit and miss. Food is good enough. Big disappointed with the eggs Benedict! Eggs almost hardboiled. That's the joy of eggs Benedict--runny eggs. Had a good flavor. Biscuit gravy tasty and green pepper soup. Slow as molasses though. Service ify. They'll give you coffee but they don't check on you.

Very friendly staff! Nate's gut buster skillet is my favorite! So fresh and yummy! I will be back again!

Unbelievably slow, food mediocre at best! I honestly have no idea how this could be rated over 2 stars.

Wonderful little country place. Food always good and staff friendly. A down home place that seems to be filled with community people.

What a find! Tried their Chicago style. It was delicious. I can't wait to visit the area again to…read moreget that and try their other styles. Color/Char is flavor! Loads of stuff to try. Nice market. Thanks for a great experience. I'll be back!

Wowww wow wow! I…read morewasnt sure what to expect when my friend suggested this place but I was thoroughly and pleasantly surprised. The "Detroit style" pizza really reminds me more of focaccia bread. It is SO fluffy and delightful. Unpopular opinion here but I typically don't consider pizza to be a "meal." It's something you eat when you don't have it in you to cook, and even if you get it in Chicago it's like...a last ditch effort at feeding yourself. BUT this feels like a meal. Like a treat. Like a schmancy lil indulgence you deserve. My friend is gluten free and I never in a million years would guess this is gluten free. I almost hope they didn't mistakenly put it on regular dough, for my friends sake. But if this is legitimately gluten free, I would gladly get it again even if I wasn't with a gluten intolerant friend. The artichoke pieces are massive, tender and tangy. The sausage is a bit strange, ground sausage instead of little lumps. And the mushrooms really top the "artesenal" feel. There's a cute little market with interesting delicacies and they have an incredibly diverse assortment of non-alcoholic beverages. The clerk did an amazing job of describing many of the options, took a lot of time making sure we knew what we were looking at. Definitely a connoisseur. Fabulous. A little pricey but, again, this is an indulgence. A meal. A quaint opportunity to relax and engulf yourself in fluffy, delectable fare that feels authentic and real. Not just ingredients tossed on a piece of dough for convenience sake. I look for to my next visit here!
