I love their Harvest Chicken Salad. I've always ordered this whenever I've dined in or had take out. All the components that go with the chicken salad itself are all fresh and delicious (fresh fruits, greens, small piece of blueberry muffin, crackers). The service is always friendly. The place is mostly busy, especially for the outdoor area. I've tried the SOUTH SHORE BURRITO, SMOKED SALMON BAGEL, WAKE N BAGEL, CINNAMON ROLL, and the BLUEBERRY MUFFIN. They were all well-made and the ingredients used were all fresh. Their coffee is good too. I would like to try some of their pies and quiche for my next visit. 'Til next time!

We had a really good dining experience at this eatery on a Sunday morning. We pick this location because they allow pups on the patio. Upon arriving, we were able to find parking directly across the street from the venue. To our chagrin, there was a vendor out there selling dog friendly treats, so we were able to purchase some items for our pup to enjoy while we ate brunch. The staff at this location were really accommodating and friendly. They brought out the nicest bowl of cold ice water I've ever seen for a Dog and it was much appreciated as the temperatures were rising on this morning. For food we started with the cinnamon roll, which was very tasty on the occasion. They had a maple base cinnamon roll with bacon bits, and we enjoyed the sweet treat. For drinks we both got Arnold Palmer's as the tea was not too sweet and the lemonade was just right it was a good combination. For food, my husband got the breakfast burrito which was huge and had plenty of leftovers. I got the quiche with the Italian sausage and it was pretty tasty. I will say there was something very salty about my side salad and I'm not sure where that was coming from. Overall, if back in the area, I would definitely dine here again. The place was very quick at getting out your food. Everyone was friendly and it was overall a very nice vibe on a Sunday morning.

Located within a beachfront neighborhood along Lake Michigan, this beach cafe has the feel of an ocean front cafe (without the ocean). It's open and airy and many tables are outside. Food is delicious and fresh, and while I loved everything, what really stood out to me were the breakfast potatoes with the baked on Parmesan. Service was solid and food came out quick despite them being busy. Glad we found this place!

This is a nice cozy spot for breakfast. Sat outside and had a great meal. It's also pet friendly. The waitress was very attentive and recommended the meat omelette, which was more than enough food to grab a to-go bag. Five stars

Enjoyed our second breakfast visit to Dune Billies. There is limited food close to the shore in Michigan City, and we are thankful to have Dune Billies when we visit. They are open Wed-Sun for breakfast and lunch. They are often busy during this limited schedule, with servers and chefs that handle the crowds with both efficiency and friendliness. We try to sit outside on the patio. Their coffee options are limited. I was pleasantly surprised at the elevated level of their smoked salmon wrap with Tzatziki sauce. The greens in the wrap were very fresh and the wrap was both generous and tasty. We will be back on our next trip!

This place is a charming little mom and pop restaurant. The menu items have colorful and funny names that tie into a specific theme (I.e Hoosier wake-n-bacon). The staff is friendly, while eating outside on the patio I observed a group of 8 young women ask the owner if they knew where they could get ice for the venture today and the owner told them they would get them the ice. There is street parking and a small limited parking lot behind the building, and some public parking for a park across the street that can also be used. Great breakfast food! There is a 20% gratuity on groups of 6 or more, but they are well worth a great tip.

Came here for breakfast before heading out of town. What a cute atmosphere! We sat outside as it was a beautiful morning. I ordered the quiche which came with a side, salad and watermelon. Very tasty and moist. My friend ordered the mushroom rosemary soup and said it was delicious. A bit out of the way but a place we're stopping to visit.

We found Dune Billies when I was searching the web for restaurants on the east side of Indiana Dunes National Park when we were driving back to our hotel. The menu includes breakfast all day as well as sandwiches, quiches, salads, etc. I got The Washington Park sandwich which was piled high with spinach, artichoke, provolone, and more on sourdough bread and my husband got a turkey Reuben on marble rye. Both were DELICIOUS especially the bread. As we were dining, we saw a pan of fresh blueberry muffins come out so we ordered one for dessert and it did not disappoint! So light and fresh! We enjoyed our lunch so much that we came back for breakfast the next day. My husband got the Wake and Bagel (sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich) which was delicious. I had a breakfast burrito--again , delicious, especially the tomatillo salsa! The service was excellent--fast and friendly. Cute little beach town restaurant with both indoor and outdoor (covered porch and sunny patio options) seating. (Near a small playground. Does not have a beach view.) We recommend highly!

The salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. The portion size was just right. Only complaint is that it could use a bit more variety in the ingredients.

My husband and I just ate breakfast here and it was such a nice experience, I had to write a review! We decided to stop here on our route from Chicago to Michigan, and were blown away by the hospitality and charm, and really delicious food! Lisa (the owner) was the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. Highly recommend!!

Avocado Toast, captain choice for what we ate, very clean and friendly servers. Went in with large group thinking it would be a wait. Nope they had large tables up stairs. Oh yeah HATS OFF TO THE CHEFS AND ALL THE WORKER!

This is a cute little spot situated right next to a neighborhood and park. They have a great deck to sit outside. Their breakfast was tasty and served with fresh fruit. Yum!! Friendly service.

Opted for rye toast (in lieu of pancakes) and a side of cottage cheese. Water to drink. Was asked if i wanted butter on the toast. After asking if they use butter or margarine, it was confirmed they use margarine. So toast was ordered dry and I would be required apply butter by opening the small "whipped butter" packets inborder to enjoy some buttered rye toast . The Omellette was ok taste-wise...but the entire time eating it my mind is questioning if I'm consuming eggs cooked in margarine? Then I'm thinking of the experiment where I placed an unwrapped stick of margarine on a dish in my garage for 2 weeks and observed that not an insect, rodent or any other living creature disturbed the lab born condiment...completely untouched orbdisturbed.. and thus I haven't poisoned my body with that garabage ever since...until possibly now??? Place was dirty with soot on the window sill at my booth. Bill comes and is over $20...highest price I've paid for that meal anywhere, which i order from various establishments a few times a week (including the 5 egg omellete establishments). Then I'm asked "cash or card?" Then informed that DEBIT card is another upcharge of $1.40, or so. The "how was everything" converstaion deserved a comment from me about the ridiculous price I'm paying for some eggs. The off-putting, I assume, owner steps in, then starts trying to justify the upcharges that resulted in a $26 omelette (by the time i threw in a $5.00 tip). This guy continued trying to convince me that he has the lowest prices and best quality...blah blah blah...trying do hard convince me his price chiseling way of doing business is justifiablr. Oh, well, could it be that I feel my arteries are clogging with margarine as i write this? Oh well..won't visiting this place again.

Makes this a very cost effective breakfast. Also, look at the pic of the tea service. TWO teabags, honey, FRESH lemon slices and enough hot water for 1.5 cups. I put both bags into the pot and it came out English Breakfast dark. A very proper cuppa. My server Kristine kept making helpful suggestions while I ordered and was very attentive during the entire meal. A true professional. We ordered the Elote Pizza, and overall it was really good. It had a nice wood-fired crust that was probably the highlight of the meal. The only downside was that it came with a garlic aioli that was very heavy...there was so much on the pizza that it overpowered some of the other flavors. I think it would have been even better with a lighter hand. For drinks, I had one of their sour beers and my husband ordered an IPA. Both were good, but neither really stood out as anything particularly memorable. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and took good care of us. The layout of the brewery was a little unexpected. We walked into the main entrance, then the host brought us back outside and over to a separate building where the bar is located. It was a little confusing at first, but it ended up being a neat setup. The restaurant was clean, with a spacious dining room and a nice-looking patio. The only thing that kept this from being a higher rating was the value. It felt a little expensive for what we ordered, and while everything was solid, nothing really wowed us. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in, especially as a place to escape the heat for a while. If you're in the area and looking for a casual meal and a local beer, it's worth checking out...I just wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit again.

We stayed at this inn for our anniversary weekend and came all the way from Indianapolis…read more We ultimately enjoyed our stay and had a great anniversary, but encountered some functional problems during our stay. We stayed in the Jo's Sunset room. We were warned that the jacuzzi buttons would be sticky, and they were. It was very hard to get them to turn on at all, almost next to impossible, and it would've been nice to have this be an easier experience. The sink in the bathroom didn't seem to want to drain at all. My fiancé went downstairs to talk to someone about it (I believe his name was Shaq) and he was very friendly but informed us it was something that couldn't be fixed during our stay. Luckily my fiancé is a plumber and he was able to clean out the drain himself. He says that after he cleaned it out it was still draining slow but was better than not draining at all. We also asked Shaq about how to turn on the main ceiling light and fan in our room because we couldn't figure it out the first night. He told us that it actually didn't work at all in our room. The first night was really warm so it was unfortunate to not have the fan working. Shaq was able to find us a plug in fan for our second night which we really appreciated! When we checked out Sunday morning we were asked if we were checking in for the breakfast that was provided with our stay. I was so disappointed to find out as we were leaving that breakfast was actually included. When I had made the reservations online, everywhere on the website and on my receipt said that breakfast stops being included after Labor Day so we just went off of that, and weren't informed on breakfast information when we checked in the first day... However we did go to a breakfast place called Memo's both mornings but it would've been nice to know that breakfast wouldn't had been an extra expense on our trip. The first night we had our anniversary dinner inside the inn and it was amazing. The service, food, drinks, and experience were so worth it. The three minute walk to the beach was also a very great addition to our time spent there. We also didn't realize folding chairs were provided to take to the beach. We found these under the bed as we were making sure we had all of our belongings for check out. When we had walked to the beach both days we kept mentioning how we would've liked to have had chairs to sit on so that was a little disappointing to find out after the fact as well. We really did enjoy the stay and these issues were minor but eventually added up. If these were fixed it would be an absolutely amazing stay.
