Gorgeous location and well stocked. The lemon merengue tarts were perfect. The empanadas weren't - the pork was wet pink mess, and the spinach one was unappetizing creamy glob though fresh. 7 people working behind counter for 8 people in line still took nearly half hour still to buy some bread, and that's if you know which part of line to stand in. Really incompetent staff - at least that day past week.

Cute little french bakery near the center of San Miguel! We stopped by one morning and were happy to see that the line was fairly short as the couple of days before when we walked by there was always a long line which deterred us from grabbing something. We weren't hungry but decided to get a concha to go. We ended up getting a traditional concha which turned out to be great - really light and fluffy inside with an addicted sugar top which turns the bread into a nice treat. They also have breakfast plates and savory pastries as well with a few tables inside if you want to eat-in.

What a great treat! Both the concha and the Apple empanada were absolutely delicious and paired with an iced Americano, a great way to rest and take in the sites of the Central plaza and Church.

Chocolate croissant, sausage empanada, and cappuccino

Stopped by here for a light breakfast. Reminds you of a European bread shop. The americano coffee and cappuccino were both good. I had the chocolate croissant and my wife the sausage empanada. The croissant was delicious and flaky and the empanada was stuffed with tasty sausage. We decided to finish with a lemon tart that was good. Very friendly servers and the place quite charming.

Was super excited to try the Kouign Amann but was SO bummed. It was dry and not flavorful. The spinach and ricotta empanada was also disappointing. Mostly spinach and very light on the ricotta. The donut we got was good--definitely the bright spot.

My biggest regret is that I tried this on my last day of vacation. Do not make the same mistakes I did. I had passed by this bakery every single day of vacation, telling myself repeatedly to go in but never finding the right time because I had always just eaten when I was passing by. Finally, on my last day of vacation, I was seeking out pan de muertos and decided to give this place a try. It was the best decision ever. The bread was SO light and fluffy with a hint of lemon. Basically it was heaven on earth. I tried to go back later but the bakery was closed and I didn't have time to go again before my early flight the next day. If I'm ever in SMA again, I'll be sure to come here on day 1....and really every day I'm in SMA.

Went twice while staying in a nearby hotel. Had hot and cold lattes and donuts, all were great! Would go back again on my next visit.

The food was good and very reasonable in price. The overall service was good. The location for seating is a little tight.

Nice little French bakery in SMA. I tried the croissant, blueberry scones, madeleines, and eclair au chocolate. All of them are great!

El café ok solamente, los panes excelentes. El latte sabe mucho más a leche que a café.

Going with the pineapple pastry, we thought the flavors were very good: perfect amount of sweetness and a fresh tasty pineapple filling. However, the dough seemed a little undercooked and there wasn't enough filling for the amount of dough. Otherwise, the experience of picking your dessert is so fun and this spot is a great example of a panaderia with homemade baked goods! The service is helpful and quick so I would recommend stopping by to see what catches your eye!

After much debate, I decided to go with the pan dulce to share with my sister as a dessert after our meal, and I'm so glad I did. Not only was the pan dulce absolutely delicious, but the kindness of the owners made the experience even more special. It was only 13 pesos, but we only had a 500-peso bill, so they generously gave it to us for free. We felt bad, so we gave them $1 USD as a small thank-you, but their generosity truly stood out. Pan Dulce itself - It was perfect--the custard filling wasn't overly sweet and had a slightly gelatinous texture that I really enjoyed. The outside was super crispy, and the sugar coating added just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect treat to end our lunch! Between the amazing pastries and the wonderful hospitality, I would absolutely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious pan dulce.

Conveniently located on the cobblestoned artery between our hotel and Zona Centro's social hub, Jardin Allende, this three-floor cafe was compact but surprisingly relaxing given the constrained layout of the seating. The cafe's name translates appropriately to "good aromas" since the roasted beans wafted throughout the space. On our first visit, we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and treated ourselves to the MX$85 Affogato, a nice combo of vanilla gelato and an espresso shot (Photo 10). We came back the following morning when the place was literally percolating with customers. This time we shared a table on the rooftop. What I appreciated was how the owner had no compunction about telling laptoppers not to monopolize tables clearly set up for multiple people. This time we had true beverages with their own twists. I had the MX$60 Cococcino, a cappuccino with a touch of coconut oil, and Jamie went for the MX$70 Iced Buzz Latte with honey and a double espresso shot (Photo 9). Both perfectly satisfied because beyond the quality of the beans, we saw the exacting process they followed in their execution. It was a smooth brew in a chill space that was obviously attracting a lot of expats. I wish we had more time for a third visit.
