The place is family owned and the manager has been there for over 11 years. All staff is kind and show they enjoy working with seniors. 3 meals a day are served and the facility is close to St. Peter's Hospital. The place is very clean and never are there old, depressing smells in the lobby or the elevator. We were so fortunate to find this place after our mother passed away. recently a relative decline hard enough that they needed to be moved into not only hospice but into…read morea place where there was 24 hour staffed... it became clear that the level of care was just too much for the family to manage (with the help of hospice). so, we got everything moved in and on day one I was not too impressed. the overall smell of the place left me thinking of poop, dirt and dirty people. it was more than a little disturbing to me. the staff though is top notch. in particular, Jeff was amazing at how much attention our relative got. as time went on we found even more staff that was pretty amazing. then it happened... the "on staff" doctor stuck his nose in and altered the meds for my relative and hospice had to get involved. with all of that said, the care was good, an aging facility and the only thing I truly didn't understand is why the TV was fuzzy. almost looked like watching a show on an antenna. and yes, that's small nitpicky kind of stuff.

If you love to take care of patience and make a difference in somebody life then this is your calling. but if your in it for the money this isn't your job.

Their rooms were very dirty and obviously no caregiver had checked on these people. It was so very hard to see. It looked as though they don't have anyone there to take care of these residents. I can only write about what I saw with just these two people in their rooms, There was no activity going on with residents, only saw a couple of workers, who in my opinion didn't look busy at all. My opinion, I absolutely without a second thought would NOT send my family here! I actually think they should have a surprise inspection! They would definitely fail! These people are being neglected. they obviously are not getting the care that they pay for.

Most importantly, his relationship with his only child has also improved. The staff at Olympic West is really good at putting dad at ease. (Particularly when his mind is looping) He enjoys the food and regular meals at his table with the guys. The 24hr nurse can evaluate him at all hours and has prevented several unnecessary ER visits. The staff is also great at communicating with us. All in all, we are so pleased that this facility exists and wish we could have moved dad here earlier.

But don't you worry - they'll send you a check for the difference. Right? Wrong. The check has (supposedly) been in limbo (mail) for about three weeks. Repeated calls/emails result in disastrously nonsensical excuses. Five grand lost to the void. Phenomenally scummy corrupt management.
