The chicken itself was excellent. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly fried, and had a great crispy coating. My only issue was that the breading felt like it was missing a little something, maybe more seasoning, pepper, or some extra flavor. Growing up with places like Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis and Nashville hot chicken, I think I naturally expect a little more punch from the chicken itself. The sauce they serve is more of a barbecue style sauce, and while it worked, I personally didn't love it enough for it to carry all the flavor. The sides were a mixed bag. The collard greens were really good and definitely one of the highlights. The coleslaw, though, was way too pepper heavy for my taste. Also, the piece of bread that comes with the meal was honestly not worth the calories. I'd rather see them either upgrade the bread or skip it altogether. One unexpected highlight was the pebble ice from the drink machine. Small detail, but it was awesome and definitely appreciated. Overall, I'd come back and try some different sides because the chicken itself is worth returning for. With a little more seasoning or some different sauce options, I could see this being a 5 star spot.

Ray Ray's is a small chicken chain of restaurants in North Carolina. They have 3 locations total,…read moreMocksville,, Randalman and Asheboro. The restaurant is open and bright with tall windows along the front and sides. A very nice change from the cloned box chain restaurant buildings these days. They have a drive thru and dine in with lots of booths surrounding the perimeter of the inside and some tables in the center. They also have a small outdoor seating area. It's not covered though so it will be a seasonal option. The inside has a large counter that looks like it could be a bar area but it was empty and looked unfinished. We ordered at the counter where a friendly cashier helped us decide on what sauces to choose. Since it was our first time here we wanted to try a variety of items. I ordered three sliders and my husband got a tender combo. Our food came out really quickly and it was super hot. The fries were seasoned well too. No one likes unseasoned fries. One of the first things we noticed was how small the tenders were. I would have expected a larger tender for the price honestly. The flavor was delicious and we loved the different sauces they had. The spicy peach sauce was one of my favorites as well as the honey mustard. The pretzel bites we got as a side were ok. I'd probably skip them next time though. Overall we had a great experience at Ray Rays. I'd go there again for sure. Next time I'll have to try one of their sandwiches or bowls I think.

Not only are the portions beyond generous, but the food is DELICIOUS. There are not many chicken sandwiches out there that can rival chick-fil-a, but.... I might have to put Ray Ray's on top. As someone who usually hates crinkle cut fries, they are done right here. Seasoned to perfection and crisp on the edges! Also, so many fries included that I couldn't even finish them all in one sitting. The chicken itself is so juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. They also have fresh lemonade and orangeade, and yes, it's actually fresh. The lemon flavor packed a punch but in the best way. I am SO excited to have this new addition to Mocksville and I already can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

It's a cute little wing place with lots of antique looking signs on the walls. As I'm looking at the menu on the wall, the "too cool for school" dude behind the counter was ready to ring me up before I even ordered. The girl asks "first time in here?". It had been all of about 30 seconds since I got to the counter and with nobody else in the place not sure why the rush. The truth is, I had been here before but it's been a while and I was looking at the list of wing flavors looking for lemon pepper, which is not on the menu. The guy points to the counter in front of him and says, the menu is right here. I mean, I could see the menu on the wall just fine. I ordered the 10 piece wing combo with fries, a sweet tea, 1/2 Garlic Parmesan and the other 1/2 Sweet Red Chili and the girl says "That's a good one!"-referring to the Sweet Red Chili sauce. The guy points to the sides and says, "Pick 2". I said, "Two? It comes with 2 sides?" He confirms. So I said, "Ok add the Mac n Cheese" and he asks if I want any additional sauces. I said just Ranch and some Ray Ray Sauce for the fries. He rings me up and repeats back, "10 Nugget Combo". I corrected him with "10 Wing Combo" and he re-rings the order, I pay and go have a seat. The girl goes into the kitchen, comes back out and says they are all out of the Sweet Red Chili sauce so I ordered the Stingin Honey Garlic. When the girl brings me the order, it's the 10 Wing Combo with Mac n Cheese and no Fries. I asked about the Fries and we looked at my order which said 10 Wing Combo-Mac n Cheese. I told her that the guy at the counter told me to pick 2 sides but no big deal since I got what I paid for (or so I thought-people count your wings!) and it was just miscommunication. Once I sat down to eat, there was no other interaction with the staff. I did notice the floor had dried up sauce in various places and the floor could use a good cleaning. About the food. The Mac n Cheese was served hot and it's basically noodles with velveeta cheese sauce which is fine for this type of establishment but I remember the other time I had visited, the Mac n Cheese was served in a cup and it had actual cheese melted on the top. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were amazing. Just how I remembered them from last time. The wings weren't served as hot as they should've been (IMO), but seemed like they had been precooked earlier in preparation for the Rush. The Garlic Parm wings had a generous amount of sauce on them. The Stingin Honey Garlic wings did not have enough sauce on them. Some parts of the chicken didn't have any sauce on them at all. The tea was good. And now that I'm uploading pictures, I see they only gave me 8 wings. 5 of the Garlic Parm and 3 of the Stingin Honey Garlic. I paid for 10, the receipt is shown in the picture. Just took another star off. Really wanted to give them at least 3 stars.
