We drove from our hotel in Reidsville to Eden... about 20 minutes. It was a Saturday night at about 7pm. The parking lot was full but we were seated immediately. The placebos not fancy but clean. The food was really good. I got the "Create your own" platter with fried shrimp, scallops and oysters. The oysters were so sweet! The platters also came with a potato and coleslaw and hush puppies. All wonderful for about $19. I was stuffed!! The waitress was so friendly and did everything to make sure we were well attended to. Would definitely recommend!! read more

This has been my favorite restaurant for several years, until Saturday night 6-27-26. There were several changes, all bad, to the extent that I likely won't go back. I have always loved their salad and jumbo shrimp. The salad was so different that it might have come out of a vending machine... not good and obviously not fresh. The shrimp were not as large as always before. And they had destroyed the shrimp sauce (which was even worse. The sauce is a major factor in how good the shrimp tastes. It was obviously watered down, too much horseradish to cover it up, and ANY brand (even the cheapest) off a grocery store shelf would have been much better. I was so disappointed that both items that I drove 20 minutes for had been noticeably changed and not worth going back for. Even the service failed. After assuring me that I could finish my salad before turning in my order, my food appeared before my salad was half eaten. Having to voice this negative report is almost as bad as losing my favorite place to eat. read more

The best seafood anywhere in this area. We live in Danville, Va and we have 2 seafood restaurants but are more than happy to drive to Eden to eat here. The service is outstanding, the restaurant always looks very clean, and the food is always fresh cooked and hot. Great seafood spot in Eden! My youngest son and I stopped in here on a whim and glad we did. Our server was fast and friendly and the food was great! Ordered the broiled combo platter with a side of crab legs and everything was seasoned well and fresh. The crab legs were actually really good which is surprising for most local spots like this. Portions sizes were large like most seafood joints and prices were reasonable. The whole family now wants to come try it so we hope to be back soon! read more

We wanted to take a nice drive to enjoy this beautiful day. Rodney used Yelp to find seafood in Rockingham County. The Fisherman's Galley in Eden, checked all the boxes. They opened at 12:00 and we got there around 12:30. People were still filing in but the building is a lot bigger than it appears and they've really maximized their seating layout. We got seated in a booth, with no wait. Our waitress immediately came by with napkins, silverware and took our drink order. We ordered our food when she brought our iced tea because we were thinking their would be a long delay. Guess what? It arrived piping hot within 5 minutes. I'm not kidding. FIVE MINUTES! I got the small size, two item combo of popcorn shrimp and fried flounder with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Hubs got the large 3 item combo of popcorn shrimp, flounder and a deviled crab with coleslaw, hush puppies and a baked potato. You can see from the pictures that the flounder was very large. It had such a clean fresh and mild flavor and man it was crispy goodness and no bones! The shrimp had just a light breading and were flash fried and that method really keeps them tender and lets the sweetness come through. The hush puppies were finger size, slightly sweet, moist and very light. We loved the creamy coleslaw, the tartar sauce was killer with the perfect amount of pickle and no onion. The cocktail sauce was also good but mild. The baked potato was outstanding. They have got to be cooking them old school in the oven. The inside was so creamy it was almost like mashed potatoes. I would definitely get the baked potato next time. Our ticket only had Server 24. I called them and asked if I could have her name. The gentleman asked questions about time and seat location and then got the seating chart. He told me her name was Bailey. He also asked if everything was ok and was very appreciative of our business. He could not have been nicer. Now more on Miss Bailey. As busy as they were, she took the time to chat with us about the clam shortage, public fishing access and even recommended Scoops when we inquired about local ice cream. She kept our tea full and checked back to make sure everything was correct, then verified we were enjoying it. She was this friendly and efficient with all of her tables. The busboys were the fastest we've seen and they sanitize all the tables. As soon as a table was clean, new people were seated. As we were leaving, there were 3 bus boys waiting and you could tell they enjoyed working together and kept things fair and efficient. The management must be top notch because this place runs like a well oiled machine. We will definitely go back during the week so we can stroll thru the little town after we eat. We also passed a cute Drive In movie theater! Lots to check out in Eden! read more

A popular local seafood place that many - based on other Yelp reviews - seem to go out of their way to enjoy. Mom had Senior order of fried popcorn shrimp w/baked potato and slaw and loved it. I had a salad to start, followed by a really well-seasoned and well-prepared serving of broiled grouper which came with fries and hush puppies, and I ordered a side of slaw at my Mom's suggestion. One of the owners, Rita... she feels like her employees are her slaves. She thinks she can talk to them however and she loves to embarrass her teenage employees. Was eating Sunday dinner and saw her screaming at the teenage buss boy. I think that speaks for itself... food is great, Eric who is her son is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and the wait staff are some of the best waitresses ever. Great restaurant, service was fantastic. (Bailey) Thursday special was a great value. Shrimp, potato and hush puppies were awesome. Catfish was a little rough but nothing a lot or tarter could not solve. Only complaint is the shrimp cocktail (jumbo) for $7.95 was a rip..shrimp were VERY small. We got 1 order of broiled flounder - 2 huge pieces, baked potato with cheese, veggie, nice salad to share, lemon pie and cheesecake - slices were a bit small on the dessert but good tasting. This is the best seafood you'll eat in the surrounding area. First of all- the servings are plentiful, the staff is great, and did I mention the food is awesome? The broiled fish is seasoned to perfection. I was not a fan of their deviled crabs though. It's probably the only thing I've tried that I don't like. My son loves the crab legs. This is one of the best fried seafood restaurants not located on the coast. A friend recommended this restaurant, knowing how much I love my fried seafood, and I tried it several weeks ago. It is a good size restaurant located near the Eden Mall. The tables are good size, and well spaced, and the booths are a nice, comfortable size as well. I hate sitting in a booth that seems designed for a child. All the seafood we tried, fish, shrimp, and oysters were fried perfectly, and came out hot and crispy. The slaw and fries were nice, and the hush puppies very good. The service is as good as the food - they serve you quickly and check on you often. This place is about fried seafood - if you want fish messed about, you will not find it here. The portions are large, and the cost is reasonable. I find little, if anything, to fault here. read more

If I could give Fisherman's Galley one suggestion, it would be to provide Splenda ( their only choice is Sweet & Low in pink packets) to their customers that drink coffee and unsweetened tea. read more

Up front: 4 stars is the max I would give this place because I don't eat seafood, and the non-seafood options they have are limited. I luckily love their Alfredo, but other relatives who don't really eat seafood have more trouble finding something suitable. That Alfredo is really amazing. It has a bit of spice to it. The ranch is homemade and quite good. My relatives who love seafood swear by the food.
