Went online and ordered two pizzas from this Papa John's location for pickup. Literally, we drove from about 3 miles away (about 10 minutes with traffic) to the location to pick them up. Walked in the store and the lady greeted me with a big smile and asked what my name was and said my pizzas were ready. They had just taken them out of the oven and boxed them up....they were piping hot. The pizzas were very generously topped with the ingredients I had selected and for the money they were pretty much perfect. Highly recommend this location. Went to Papa John's many times over the last few years. Sign outside said, "large one topping pizza $7.99 before 5 P.M. It was about 3:30 P.M. I ordered one large pepperoni, (thin crust) and one large cheese,(thin crust). The order taker said $45.00 And change. I said why so much. He said because I ordered thin crust. The service was awful. I tried to call in an order the girl on the phone was rude and not helpful at all. I was trying to order three pizzas. Two that were on special and one special order. The girl charged me 75 dollars. The guy who was at the counter was shocked how much she charged us for a small pizza. It ended up being over 39 dollars for the small crappy pizza. During the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, we ordered a pizza for delivery. After the driver had left, I noticed that the sticker had been peeled back and to my surprise a piece of the pizza was missing. My wife called the store and they said that they would send a new one. I then called the store to request that the 25% tip I had left be refunded; I'm not going to overreact but I feel like this behavior doesn't deserve a tip. In a condescending and flippant manner, the manager refused and said that I could not be correct and that I'd have to take it up with corporate. He also said that any Yelp reviews I left would be removed. Order with caution. Better hope that the sticker that ensures an uncontaminated product is intact, because if not, they won't believe you. Nothing like ignoring a clear and obvious health violation in the midst of a declared pandemic. I'm not sure what the manager thought my scam was; I can't see what I have to gain by calling this out. Something is wrong with operations at this location. Bummer too because I like the pizza. If the manager would have handled this in a responsible way, I would have understood and continued to get their pizza. But after this, I cannot, and I recommend others look elsewhere. Update: My wife drove the pizza into the store to show them, and they actually told her that the pizza had the right number of slices and there was nothing wrong with it. First time getting pizza from a 'Papa John's '. Got 2 specifically LG pizzas and paid Xtra for stuffed crust. The cheese in the crust was hard and not melted at all. There was hardly any toppings on the pizzas. I've gotten frozen pizzas that have had more toppings. Very disappointed. Staff not wearing masks, breathing over pizzas. Not once did I see anyone wash their hands or use hand sanitizer. I'm a nurse that is working with Covid patients. This is reckless and beyond comprehension that you would put so many people at risk by not being sanitary and preventing the spread of an illness that is killing so many people. Your questions asked of staff prior to working are ridiculous too. Many infected with Covid-19 do not have symptoms at all and people who make low wages are more likely to lie and use Tylenol or other medications to hide symptoms to avoid losing their income. A big shout out to Papa John's! I found one of their 'Easter eggs' (a branded beach ball) didn't Easter Weekend which won me a free large one topping pizza! We got the Italian Sausage, which was very flavorful. I'm generally not a red sauce fan (I much prefer white) so all I can really say is their red sauce was tomato-y and thankfully not excessive. Good coverage of cheese but the absolute best part was the hand tossed crust. Fluffy and consistently cooked- no hard or chewy spots. You could pick up a slice with one hand if necessary and eat it like you should be able to eat a pizza.... It doesn't droop, the toppings don't slide off and it's not dripping with grease. Just not impressed at all. Dough is a lot of air and filling, and for a large pizza with such a large (No, massive) area of crust it really takes away from the whole "large pizza" kind of thing. When it is hard to find the two ingredients you ordered on a slice of pizza you are eating you know you are eating at the wrong place. Skimping (actually more than skimping - saving money by not giving what you ordered) was what killed the last Papa Johns in Bellingham many years ago. History is repeating itself. I have ordered from many Papa Johns in more than 10 states and it usually doesn't go like this, but for some reason in Bellingham they think it is okay to save a little money and give the customers much less. If it keeps doing business like this it will end up the same way the last Papa Johns did - out of business fast! From my experience I would definitely recommend going somewhere else for your pizza needs in Bellingham. Dominoes is a much better deal for what you get, Papa Murphys is far, FAR better if you are okay cooking your own pizza. In fact, anywhere you go would be better - so disappointed that Papa Johns is okay with this kind of pizza service in our town. I don't think it will last long, and I think that is a shame for people that like decent pizza, even if it is a franchise. I know what you're thinking- this is a chain restaurant and they are all the same. People at pizza places are grouchy and mean. Wrong. This is a great Papa John's! I order pizza here sometimes for carry out but they also do delivery within a certain delivery area. The carryout is nice because they have a 'carry out card' here that can actually allow you earn a free pizza! I always get a great pizza that's exactly what I ordered. My guilty pleasure is the garlic dipping sauce they have here. It's literally heavenly and they never forget to include it it the box! The people who work here are really kind as well. When I come to this Papa John's I'm always greeted by a couple people on staff, even if it's busy. One of the best chain restaurant pizzas I've had! As a picky eater, that's saying a lot. The dough is soft and crust is too. I usually don't like crust but with the garlic dipping sauce they give you, it's amazing! Definitely better than domino's and pizza hut. We tried this Papa john's for the first time on May 12 we received our pizza with no Peperoni for a all meat pizza with no sausage we actually got what look's like double sausage and no Peperoni. , the store did apologize when we called them and offered another free pizza. That is nice , but why do we as consumers have to constantly call to make our orders correct. the more we up the minimum wage the worst the customer service. I live in Everson, a good 20-30+ minutes away from this shop so when my fiance forgot our breadsticks and soda when he picked up our order I figured no biggie, was our bad and just accepted we missed out on that part of our mail. A lot of money was wasted. Lets first start with the most important aspect of this review, the food; upon arrival (delivery) the food was luke warm. The dessert (cinnamon dessert blobs) were pretty dank. The pizzas (spinach/alfredo/chicken/bacon concoction) smelled terribly of bad/spoiled ingredients. First bite, we all agreed it was likely the sauce, but could have been anything in the toppings. Terrible. The second pizza was a large chicken/bacon/ranch w/ olive and mushrooms. The olives smelled and tasted past expiration. The cheese was extra stinky beyond the usual parma cheese expression and the pizza could not be eaten. The only thing good about the selections were the crust, which was fresh and decidedly the best consistancy/flavor of crust in Bellingham. Otherwise, completely inedible. Delivery for this order was on time/better than expected. But the food waste was not worth the convenience. read more
