We both ordered a create your own personal pizzas. Randy got the red sauce, pepperoni, tomatoes and garlic and Randy liked it. He liked the crust of it and wished the pepperoni was a smaller round but he really liked it. I ordered pesto with mushrooms, red onion and green bell pepper and it was good but too thick for my liking. I prefer a thin crust. I'm basically not a pizza person so the rating is based on Randy's assessment. We also had the cheeseballs - again Randy's assessment...he liked them. I'm editing this review to add: I didn't say anything about the excellent customer service. The young man at the counter greeted us when we walked in, answered our questions and went out of his way to help us figure out what we wanted and we watched him do it with everyone who entered. We got delivery here last time we were in town, pizza was not bad, and thought we'd try again. Unfortunately , after 8 pm they stop in-house delivery and refer you to Uber Eats. What? How can I take seriously the call to support local business when they just refer you to an evil mega corporation. My kids and I came here after doing the Chuckanut drive and seeing all the positive reviews. My oldest got the King Mahalo sandwich, my two middle kids got the pepperoni and Kick'n Chicken personal pizzas and my youngest got the Hilo sandwich, while I got the drunken nachos. My youngest refused to eat her sandwich after the first bite and there was very little meat on my nachos. But the worst came later that day, when my 2 middle children spent the entire night vomiting up their pizzas. Definitely not visiting again :( read more

The food here isn't good. It is SO DELICIOUS.. I can barely think of words to describe it!! What a fun little place. I was surprised that it wasn't busier! We perused the daily specials and happy hour menu and based on reviews read we started our visit with Cheese Balls. It's their house made Hawaiian bread then covered in cheese and served w a side of marinara. For my meal I opted for the King Mahalo Sandwich sans onions. My mom chose the Big Kahuna pizza. There were a couple other parties there while we dined, both only two person parties so all of us were able to spread out and not even hear the other ones goings on. I love the whole Hawaiian/Tiki theme. They have a great Hawaii mural on the one wall. Parking was easy in the lot that was abut to the building. Careful, if you go during business hours and park in the wrong spots the other business can have you towed. You go up to the counter to order and they bring your food out. It hardly seemed long enough to wait for our food. The other half of my sandwich was still just as delicious the next day for a late breakfast. I decided to try out this place after reading all the positive reviews. They are located just South of Trader Joe's and is off of James St. There is parking in the back of the restaurant, but lighting is poor in the back after sunset. The food comes out after approximately 20 minutes after ordering. You place the order with the cashier and they bring out the food to your table when ready. We tried the personal-size (7'') Pake pizza and the Tiki wings (about 8 wings). The pizza and wings were each around $15. My visit here was a very positive one! I went with a few friends and we ordered pizza, which is what they're known for! Although there is seating, you go up to the window to order. The staff are always so friendly and they make the ordering process easy. While you wait for your large cheesy pizza you can enjoy the ambiance of Hawaii! If the weather isn't so great outside you can feel like the weather is warmer at Coconut Kenny's! If you want to watch the big game, they have a few TVs for you to enjoy your favorite team! We got the Hawaiian pizza and this pizza is always a winner for me. But from Coconut Kenny's it's a win and a half! I don't know if they put extra cheese on it or what, but it was wonderful! We love Coconut Kenny's! We live close by but don't come by often, that is going to change! 4 adults and 2 little ones shared a large Spicy Islander pizza and a personal sized cheese pizza. We also had the meatballs. Wow! So much flavor, the crusty cheesy crust on the pizzas was perfect, and the meatballs were sweet, spicy, and delicious. The service was great, it was hard to get their attention at first, but once we did the employees were attentive and friendly. While looking for a place to catch some lunch on Yelp in Bellingham, I came across this amazing spot. My husband and I decided to split a pizza and some nachos. We chose a gluten free pizza with sausage, onions, and mushrooms. They have many varieties, but so happy they had a gluten free one.The crust was phenomenal ~ soft and little some crunch to it. The loaded nachos were fabulous. It was filled with lots of cheese, pulled pork, sliced red onions, sour cream, and jalapeño. The place has a Hawaiian motif with a painted mural of upper Washington state in the wall. There's seating inside and out. Since it was raining when we got there we chose to eat inside. The employees are so nice and friendly. This will be a place we stop at whenever we're in Bellingham. It should be one for you too. read more

Excellent service and yummy food in a super fun atmosphere. We ate a North Shore sandwich (with super tender chicken pieces in a sweet, creamy spread with crunchy fried onions) and a Kailua Kona pizza (with creamy, garlic ranch dressing, soft artichokes, and pieces of tender chicken). The pizza crust was thick and tasty. The server was incredibly kind. When she brought our food, she said that the sandwich wasn't up to their standards, so they started another one for me. This was our second time stopping in and I was pleased. Cocunut Kenny's had a very chill and relaxed vibe and lots of natural light seeping in. I had a pineapple cream soda, which was very enjoyable and unlike anything I had ever drank before. My mother ordered a Ceaser salad and it was quite fresh. The croutons were crunchy and they were pleasant and dissolved well in my mouth. She also ordered a Waikiki pizza which was AMAZING! It had a nice, tangy barbecue sauce that really gave it so much flavor! I myself ordered the All Meater, which was pretty good. This place is amazing especially their pizza of course. Came here with a friend after a hike called Alger Alp. We were thirsty for a drink and hungry for pizza. Found this place while looking at the Yelp's app. I'm glad we made the right choice to stop by Coconut Kenny's. This place seem very Hawaiian style, nice decor and etc. I got the Locust cider. They do have a brewing over by Woodinville if you want to try out their beer and cider. It was great! We ordered the Big Hawaiian pizza to share and it was delicious. Overall, everything was good. Friendly service give us some recommendation to where we should go if we want to see the nightlife. We will be back here for sure if we are coming to Bellingham again. I went to the Ferndale location because it's closest to me. It's an odd feel with all the "Hawaiian" decor that needs to be dusted. I don't care for counter service and I couldn't start a tab for some reason. I ordered the 7 inch all meat and a beer. I sat and waited at a booth for my pretty much well done pizza and one beer that came to right at $30 because I tipped at the counter BEFORE the burnt pizza came out. Counter service eliminates any service from the wait staff. No one checks a table so you, the customer, gets to be the server. I won't pay premium for self service and well done pizza. Maybe it's the norm but I don't like to pay premium for self service-if that's the case, I would have liked to have made my own pizza and not burned it. read more

Background. Several weeks ago, we visited and consumed a personal pizza during a quiet period. Upon entering, there was no one in the dining area, and the staff were mostly engaged with one another chatting. Seemingly, this was a 'dead' period, and the staff were not tasked with orders. Walking up to the counter, they presented us with menus, choose our meal, and even asked for an appetizer. During the exchange, we politely requested they delay baking the entrée order until we had received the appetizer. After this, we sat down and waited politely. Some 20 minutes later, the staffer showed up with both the appetizer and the entrée. When asked why everything was delivered simultaneously, we received an apathetic response that "they couldn't make it happen". Let me be clear, customer service matters and this exchange shows the staff are less interested in providing a unique, positive experience and more about completing the task. Also, as a business, we request you train the staff to understand an appetizer is supposed to be a distraction while the entrée is being made, and not to be served the same time as the entrée. Otherwise, what's the point of ordering an appetizer if you can simply eat your entrée immediately? Finally, I recognize our thoughts are unique and not representative of everyone's experience. I would like to state, my review is based on the staff's lack of initiative to resolve the ignorance associated with delaying the order. Looking for a new pizza place since Fat Pie closed since the last time we were in Bellingham and Coconut Kenny's, while different, satisfied the craving! My family ordered four pizzas: the Maui Wowee, the taco pizza, a barbecue pizza, and a white sauce chicken pizza. All were delicious! The service was excellent, with the wait staff offering samples of a couple of different drinks and bringing our order out pretty quickly. Our server even refilled the water bowl for our dog and brought him a little pepperoni slice as a treat! We ate outside in the covered area and it was really nice with comfortable seating made of thick logs like stumps and a nice wooden bar-type table. So, how have we never stopped by Coconut Kenny's during one of our previous sorties down to the States? This chain of Hawaiian-inspired pizza joints just came up on our radar recently so we decided to stop by after visiting Trader Joe's in Bellingham. It's a bit confusing when you first enter this island-hut interior. You can grab a table and then, when you're ready to order, head up to the front counter to place your order. We decided to try a few things since we've never been here before. First off was the Cheese Balls ($3.99). OMFG these were good! These sweet Hawaiian bread balls are baked with butter and garlic and then covered with a super cheesy blend and accompanied with a marinara dipping sauce. Served sizzling hot, there's an amazing cheesy pull and the bread is so light and airy on the inside. If you like cheese, you'll love these cheese balls. Seriously better than any cheese bread that I've ever had. Next up was the individual-sized Big Kahuna ($9.89) which comes piled high with pepperoni, ham, Italian and Portuguese sausage, bacon, red onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, and black olives. While the toppings are great, there were so much that they fell off pretty easily. But the thing about their pizzas is the best cheesy crust that gives you the perfect bite. If you like pan-style pizza, you'll love these pizzas. Not realizing how generous they are with their servings, we also decided to try a half order of their Maui Cheesesteak ($7.79). This is Kenny's take on the classic Philly cheesesteak with thin-sliced beef steak topped with green peppers, red onions, dijon horseradish and creamy mayo baked under a layer of mozzarella cheese. Like their cheese balls, the bread that they use here is amazing and reminds me of the sweet bread that we had in Hawaii. The bread is light and soft but you get some of the texture from being toasted up. And they don't skimp on the meat and cheese filling here... be prepared to be stuffed.
