I must give a shoutout to this Papa John's for exceptional service tonight. I initially ordered 3 pizzas through Uber Eats and that experience was awful! Along with my guests, I waited an hour for the pizza to arrive, I received their usual text updates (the order was placed, it was being prepared, it was on its way, it arrived, etc...) I received the message that my order was being delivered and to wait a minute for the driver to drop it off. A minute later, I got a message that it was canceled! I was furious that after I was told it had arrived it got canceled, and apparently the driver canceled the order. How is that even allowed? I didn't order from the driver, I ordered from a restaurant through Uber. If that driver couldn't deliver it, they should have assigned another driver! Anyway, as my guests were still waiting for food, I quickly went on the papa John's website and ordered the same items. It was delivered in 20 minutes!! And the driver called me just to let me know it's at my door so it doesn't sit there long. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and professionally they fulfilled this order, especially after the disappointment half an hour earlier. I think they deserve a 5 star rating for coming to my rescue like this! (They didn't know anything about my UberEats experience, they just did a good job!) This used to be my go to pizza spot, they would always deliver earlier than estimated, they used to be friendly and always wanted to get it right to keep the customer happy. Recently i stopped ordering from them bc i gave the driver at that time a cash tip and he decided to write in the receipt 5 more dollars. Which if i wanted to leave a tip on the receipt i would have but i had cash that day and figured it would be easier. However they did refund me my money. I waited about a month or so to reorder and decided to leave tip when i placed the order online to avoid that from happening again. Today i placed an online order around 1:38 i ended up calling to cancel at 2:55 bc it was taking longer than what the estimated time said. I called to cancel the guy said oh he's on his way, i said well i didn't get a text like i normally do saying they are on the way so he asked if i still wanted to cancel i said yes. Then he said he would need to get his manager to cancel it i said ok. I didn't think i had to speak to the manager to cancel but he handed the phone and she responded with uhm hello... which btw working in a professional world myself, that is NOT how you answer the phone to someone who is canceling their order due to the amount of time it was taking. Then she said yes how can i help you and i asked if the guy i was speaking to didnt explain what i wanted, she said yeah you want to cancel your order i said yes bc it was taking longer and she said yeah all our orders are longer than an hour for delivery. But he is on the way, i was like yeah but i didnt get a message saying he was on the way so i would like to cancel. So she said ok i'll void it. I said thanks. Hung up. Not one i apologize it is taking longer than expected, or any signs of professionalism. I will not be ordering from this location again. They don't care about their customers and have what seems like a bunch of careless teens working there. Very disappointed from what it used to be to what it is now. read more
