I am giving no stars only gave 1 cause it's required . I never got my food And they didn't make it right. I ordered my food and walked over on my break a hour after it was scheduled to be ready. I waited till someone was free to help me just to find out after the time I was supposed to be back at work that they never received my order from their own website. then wouldn't deliver it around the corner for me even though it was their error because my meal was $4 under their minimum . I left back to work hungry, annoyed and late. Talk about being screwed over in multiple ways. I used to be a customer now I telling all my coworkers to avoid them unless they want to end up late to work and still hungry. Ashame. read more

The cashier who answered remembered our 1 pizza order from last week and we were 1st time customers. You can hear the smile in her voice wish I got her name. We ordered for the 2nd time. Sicilian pie instead of pepperoni got anchovies, and got the large 3 topping calzone special. Steak, mushroom and tomatoes asked for extra sauce. Wow! A pint of sauce!!! You guys rock! YUM!! I stopped by this place on a whim because I was craving pizza and so glad that I did ! It's delicious, slices are big, and VERY affordable. I got two plain slices +drink for 5.75 total! Pizza is not too thin, good sauce/cheese ratio, and pretty filling. After I ate this around noon, I was pretty much full for the rest of the day. Service was fast and the staff is friendly! All I can say is, "BRAVO!" Pat has brought a real pizzeria back to our neighborhood. The staff are always pleasant and accommodating. A good ole regular slice extra crispy with the garlic butter on the crust is always a go to. My favorite is the ricotta, mozzarella, and meatball calzone. Great local spot for authentic Italian Food. And the service is good. My favorite thing to order is the grilled chicken salad. It's well seasoned and fresh. The chick is also seasoned and cooked to semi-tenderness that goes well with the garlic bread. As for pizza you can't go wrong with their single slice. I manage a hotel in the area and have been looking for a place to recommend good, NY style pizza to our guests. I ordered on Seamless, pizza came, and it was DELISH! Piping hot, just the right amount of cheese and sauce, wonderful! Not an hour later I had guests ask about a local pizza place, and I gave them the info for Papa Pats. A little while later they came down asking me to assist, because the seamless app was telling them it had been delivered but it wasn't. I looked at their app and sure enough, it said DELIVERED, HOW WAS YOUR FOOD? As a courtesy, I called the restaurant to follow up. THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERED WAS SO NASTY! I couldn't believe the way she spoke to me! "No, it DOESN'T say it was delivered, it says OUT for delivery, get your story straight." Word for word. I told her to have a nice day, and not only will I not order from them again, but I will never recommend them to my guests again. Please invest in someone better for answering your phones. read more

Papa Pat,s is a good place for take-out. It is two block from UMDNJ. The Pizza is one of the better one's in this section of Newark, This is strictly a lunch or take home for dinner place it has a few tables, but I would not eat there it is just to blah. I have often gotten their meatball appetizers which is 3 meatballs in gravy for $3.00 the meatballs are good. The garlic knots are also good and they have a pretty extension menu of sandwiches and dinner menu. read more

I reached out to many pizza places when ordering for my students, many didn't take card or wouldn't deliver to school. I sure wasn't ordering from dominos when we have authentic Italian places like Papa Pat's. It was by far the best customer service I've had from any pizza place. I didn't know this at the time but Papa Pat delivered the food himself he was very kind and all smiles to me and my students. It wasn't until a coworker told me that it was Papa pat himself. I usually like their food. However, last night we placed an order for delivery. We ordered a large calamari, a grilled chicken hero with everything on it, and one large antipasto salad with oil and vinegar (oil and vinegar is the standard for this type of salad). It took about an hour and a half to get the order. The calamari was cold. The grilled chicken hero was literally chicken on a roll with mayo. All the past times we order this (which is alot since that's what I ate majority of my pregnancy) it was made with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and oil vinegar. The salad had bits of cheese all mixed in and if they already had it sitting there and tried to pick the cheese out. Considering I'm allergic to dairy and had already ingested the cheese I'm now sick and have hives all over me. Plus, instead of sending oil and vinger they sent me to containers of ranch. read more

Salad was hot, lettuce was wilted and completely drenched in buffalo sauce. Pizza was good but pretty beat up. The cheese had mostly slide off. Called the manager who was defensive and not concerned about my dissatisfaction. I would not recommend delivery at all. read more

This is a great Italian fast food place. They have great customer service, I love the sandwiches. It's very clean and they also accommodate a lot of regulars ,, if you're ever in the area stop in and grab a slice or a sandwich or salad. So me and my wife just recently moved to the Newark area from Florida and been trying to find a good pizza shop nearby, which turns out finding good pizza here is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. We ended ordering from Papa Pat's once we arrived and the food was decent, nothing special. They just seemed to be the only one willing to deliver. However, as of today I'll never order from Papa Pat's Pizza again. I ordered delivery, paid more than $16 and gave a tip then when I open my pizza on my dining table I see that they brought me a pizza that appeared to have been made this morning then did a sorry job by trying to cover it up with fresh cheese to make it appear new. Totally disrespectful. The pizza had no taste, the bread was tuff like cardboard, it was just gross and I'll never go back. They are so foolish to be so cheap that they are willing to lose a customer over 1 old nasty pizza when I could have bought their pizza 100 times more over in the years I'll be living here. I'm reluctant to give Papa Pat's 2 stars because their food is delicious. Unfortunately, their delivery service is horrible. Twice now the guy who delivered my food has been rude. He calls to let me know he's arrived and then hangs up before I can even get a word out. Then when I call him back to ask if he would bring the food up to my apartment instead of making me sclepp outside (the whole point of delivery, eh?) he acts like I'm seriously putting him out. To make matters worse, my order was incorrect. I get the feeling they don't read those little instructions you can add to your order at all. If they can improve their delivery, this would be 5 stars for me. read more
