Bucco is a true gem, and everyone I bring here falls in love with it and can't wait to come back. It's a small Italian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and incredibly friendly, welcoming staff. The food is amazing, and they always offer several daily specials which makes choosing a dish delightfully difficult. Pricing had all of the entrees in the $30 range, with some specials up to $40 and most of the appetizers ~$15. I had the Pecan Crusted Chicken which was fantastic. It came with grilled Asian pears and a melted Brie on top of the chicken which was paired very well with the pecans. It was a great dish. We came here as part of a food tour that was hosted by the Bloomfield center. They had the air conditioning going which felt amazing as it was so hot that day. Jennifer the owner could not have been more lovely and accommodating. It's a cute little spot in Bloomfield and the food was delicious. They have some good options to pick from and we got to try penne vodka and mozzarella and Carozza. We enjoyed everything we ate! Finally came here since I was a big fan of the original Buco in Clifton. The location is easy to get to in a newer, up and coming part of Bloomfield, with an indoor parking garage across the street. The restaurant decor is very modern and open. Beautiful wood tables and you do not feel crowded. The menu was eclectic, I had the burrata and my fiancé had the Asian Pear salad, both were excellent! I had the baked rigatoni and she had the haddock, again, terrific! Tiramisu and a Cappuccino for dessert equals an awesome dining experience. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They are also a BYOB which is nice. My only minor critique, they have a television in the dining room playing the Food Network, I would expect this in a bar, but not in a beautiful restaurant, it was frankly distracting and unnecessary. This BYOB is a hidden Gem!! We had the most fantastic dinner at Bucco. Clams...you are absolutely dipping the bread in the juice. Burrata with grilled pears (so good) Boneless braised short ribs over polenta, and the pork chop. I cannot even begin to tell you the flavors in each dish. I'd like to give 1 star for my most recent experience but the last time I was here it was a pretty good overall experience. This particular review is for those looking to visit on a Friday night in the summer. Unfortunately, it took 2hrs!!!! for guests to get there food. Not just us. I don't know if they were short staffed or what but no explanation was given about why we were experience such delays. Felt bad for the servers but they did themselves no favors. They forgot to bring out more water when asked, didn't bring out more bread until asked (1:30 into dinner reservation), and did not seem to care to communicate what the hell was going on. To make matters worse, the managing partner or owner seemed to also be quite alright with what was transpiring. Sat down at 7pm, didn't even get asked for our order until nearly 7:45 and our plates touched our table at 9:20. Absolutely one of the worst service experiences I've ever been a part of. Food was as expected for the most part aside from the burnt (not blackened) piece of chicken that was added to my risotto. No discount or other complementary service/product was offered. I hope they use the unwarranted tip that was given to help fund kitchen assistance and server training. This type of issue begins at the top though. I usually take pictures of the food but I was so pissed off. Can't believe I still tipped 15% and it's going to be extremely hard to go back to this establishment. Patrons pay too much money to not feel the hospitality. Idc how good they think their food is. read more

To save on pricing, they outsource liquor/wine to a local place that delivers in literally 3 minutes -- so no outrageous drinks pricing. Was excited to try this place after reading the reviews here and seeing some pictures. Unfortunately it was very underwhelming. Place was empty but a few people arrived later. Salads big. Clams good though small and small portion. For mains: one of their chicken entrees, salmon with horseradish, their pasta with Bolognese sauce. The service was wonderful, with patience. and recommendations. The apps. were different and very tasty. The entrees are eclectic with incredible sauces. Oh my God so good we get the spaghetti and meatballs, so big and so good you get bread butter we have had the fettuccine the servers there are really great. Compliments to the chef who heard the 2 of us order and confirmed we did the right thing by ordering the artichoke appetizer and the side meatballs!! Wow to flavor ! We went to dinner on Valentine's Day and selected items from their special menu for the day. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. I had Italian Meatballs for an appetizer and the Short Rib Ravioli for dinner. The wife had clams and then linguine with crab and shrimp. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The homemade brownie with Ice Cream was the perfect end to a great dinner. We will be coming back again soon read more
