The pizza at the Longview store is good, however, I like the Pizza at the Castle Rock store Better. It is a little bit out of the way, almost at the edge of town, unless you already know about it it wouldn't be on your list of places to go for food. I have been to the Castle Rock Papa Pete's a hundred times but just made my first visit to this one. Clean, friendly service and the pizza was the same. The Castle Rock one is much busier. I stopped in the early afternoon and got a Hometowner with extra cheese for my GF. Great pie!! Came back at dinner time with my son and two young grandsons. Got a sausage with extra cheese and a beef Taco Pizza. No scrimping, great and flavorful toppings! Lots of leftovers. The boys rode the Merry go round. It was a very pleasant visit. read more

Decent Pizza Joint. I'm new to town and this place appears to be jumping as one of the main places in town for Pizza. I mainly just popped in and out, so I can't speak to much more than just the take out experience. Papa Pete's was kind of different from what I was expecting. It's more a kid oriented Shakey's/Chuckie Cheese type place than a tradition Pizzeria/Italian place. If I had kids this would be a good place to take them. The Good - Very nice staff, the kids they hire there are respectful and do a good job - Their pizza is pretty good. I got a simple pepperoni with garlic sauce and enjoyed it very much - I like their drive-up window, had I known I would've just ordered and did that instead. The Not So Good - Pricey, compared to most pizza places, Papa Pete's is pretty expensive. A large 1 topping pizza and a 2-liter of soda ran me $25. - Very limited menu, they only have pizza, salad, breadsticks and that's about it. Overall it was pretty good and I do recommend it if you're on that side of town. However the price and the limited menu is going to make me keep looking for a de facto pizza spot in Longview. read more

Yes (as the two stars indicate) I have experienced...ate and tasted far better pizza. In fact, this city, Longview, has not one good pizza pie maker/business. I am sure that Papa Pete's, and the others in town (Bruno's, Vernie's, Pie@trio, etc) try their best and have many satisfied customers. But, I wonder how many of these people ever had a "Real" Italian pie. I came from an area where there were quite a few pizza parlors that serve authentic "Italian" pies, and most were owned and operated by Italians. Papa Pete's advertizes as the best pizza since 1970-something...and from the locals' taste, they may be right. Sadly, I am without a decent pie. But, I have a very nice outdoor pizza oven that will be in place by summer...and, once again, I hopefully will have a good pie again. This place is 2 minutes from my front door and I have to pass it to go anywhere. I used to eat there when I first moved here, and the atmosphere and people are outstanding. The pizza is middle of th he road. Better than Dominos, but way more expensive. I settled on Poppa Murphys, which beats them both in taste and cost and 5 minutes away. read more

I grew eating Papa Pete's pizza on a regular basis. It was always a special treat. I moved to Alaska and return to the Longview area a couple times a year. The taco pizza has always been a meal I look forward to when I return home for a visit, not anymore. I took my extended family to enjoy a taco pizza which I had a bragged about for a month before a visit. It was definitely not the experience I remember. The service was rude, as if I was putting out the cashier when we put in our order. The taco pizza arrived with roughly 1lb of loose, low grade unmelted cheese on the top. The cheese fell off the pizza along with the lettuce and limited hamburger that was on the pizza. This is the first time that I have ever not taken the leftover pizza home. I was embarrassed that I had bragged about how great their pizza was to all my family. I will not be back. Save your time and money, go anywhere else. read more

I had my first experience with Papa Pete's last night and I was not impressed at all. I would go so far as to say, i would never go there again, and I will highly recommend anyone I know that is thinking about going there to go to any place else, instead. We go there for my Granddaughters birthday party, which was booked in advance. I had been told up to this point that their pizza is great and their service is good and it's a nice place. I walked into the building and I was impressed. It looked clean and it was roomy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. So far so good, right? They call my daughter's name to pick up the pizzas and they look decent. My first bite was a big let down. I love the pepperoni they use, but the hardened cardboard that they use for crust is dry and not enjoyable. Super dry. Like, I could use it for kindling, dry. The sauce was nothing to write home about, and the cheese was meh. The Hawaiian pizza was slightly better, because the pineapple at least moistened it a little bit. At this point, I'm wanting to get something to drink, so we look for the pitchers of soda that we called about previously and THEY SAID they would have on hand. Lo and behold, there was a policy change and they no longer did pitchers of soda for $6. Instead, we have to buy individual cups for everyone in the entire birthday party. At a price of $3.25. Each. Oh, but you get refills. Yay for small miracles. And I had to get cranky with them, just to get the 10% discount that was supposed to be normal for a booked party on the drinks. However before getting my drinks, I asked about the 2 liter's that they had for sale on the other side of the counter. "Those are only for take out and drive thru customers." "So I can't buy those and drink them here?" "No sir." Amazing. If it were my party, I would have packed up and told them to shove off and gone somewhere else, however it was my daughters and so I let it be after paying $50 for drinks. Then we needed another dry pizza for the people that didn't eat meat, so we decided to get a "giant" cheese pizza. Cheese is a fairly simple and cheap pizza, so we didn't think it would be too bad. Almost $30 for 1 cheese pizza that was not good enough to be charging $30 for. The $6 pizzas at Little Caesars have better taste than these pizzas do. The only saving grace is that I enjoy the corn meal on pizza crusts. I just wish that it had a little more moisture than dry wall does. So that was my experience there and none of us in the party will ever be going there again and I hope that if you do decide to try it out, your experience is better than ours. read more

My 4-year-old daughter and I stopped here on a road trip. I had some quarters to let her take a ride on one of the kids' toys. The donkey ride ate our last two quarters and did not give her a ride. She was disappointed so I asked an employee if we could have 2 more quarters so she could pick a different ride. The employee checked with her manager and then came back out and said sorry, no refunds on games. I reminded her that the ride actually didn't work and she offered to put an "out of order" sign on it. What kind of restaurant sets a policy to steal the last two quarters from a four-year-old? The pizza here is decent and the prices are pretty good (especially if you get the ginormous family sized ones which feed 5-6 people [or 3 drywall/plaster guys] and are about $25). They have the same weird regional toppings the other places do (taco pizza is inexplicably popular here) and the usual meat and veggie combos. Thin crust, sauce has a hint of fennel but no garlic or oregano. Red chile flakes are a must in my opinion since this pie doesn't have a lot of flavor going for it otherwise. I think they pile on the pepperoni a la Bruno's, so that could be a plus for some. If your house is being torn up and you have no cooking facilities, this will do for a meal or two. read more

There's something about road tripping to Portland that always leaves me hungry for pizza. We had to wait a while for our pie (lots of takeout business tonight), but it was worth it (and we enjoyed the music in the meantime). We got a medium rocket pizza and a pitcher of soda. For two people who typically annihilate a pizza, we actually had leftovers...probably because we were full from the tasty overflowing toppings. The crust was perfectly cooked and the grease level was below normal for a pizza with that much meat. We really enjoyed their pizza. Plenty of toppings and the pepperoni as a little kick to it. What we did not enjoy was their breadsticks.

So, this place is very spendy but the pizza is good. I telephone to order at least once a month because of the prices, and have done so for years now. I have observed for some time now that they have an unprofessional attitude with their telephone etiquette, and I mean really bad. "Papa Pete's Longview," and that's it. No may I help you or thank you for calling, very abrupt. I then ask for my same order as last time I called and I am told they have no record of me ever having done business with them. This depends on who answers the phone, as Terry Lynn always knows where to look to find my information and if she does not answer I get total ignorance. I do not appreciate their lack of valuing my spending $400-$500 per year with tip. They can kiss my business good bye! read more

I will not do business with Papa Pete's until they change "policy" about delivery and even taking payment over the phone. I wanted to buy a few pizzas for the county crew in our area for work they had done - and even though the county shop is just across the street, they would not deliver! I called the next morning to order (the county road foreman said he would go pick it up) and I had to show up in person to charge on my VISA. Completely inconvenient and very POOR on customer service! I ended up calling another local pizza place and they had no problem taking and delivering my order - all for a cheaper cost. Pizza is pretty good. Chicken nuggets are pretty gross, they barely resemble chicken nuggets. The breadsticks are ok, I much prefer Bruno's. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so I absolutely loved the music they play. My kids and hubby loved the games. Restrooms are fairly clean. read more

Upon moving to longview i discovered this great place to have pizza. It is different than what i am used to with the thin crust style pizza that they offer. They do not scrimp on the toppings as they almost make the pizza disappear under the heapings of them! My favorite is the lumberman. The order by phone and pick up window is a real plus for me as well, very easy when needing to feed my teenage daughter and friends. A touch pricey for pizza(hence the 4 instead of 5 stars) but would rather pay and get quality than be cheap and have lackluster food. read more

We went to the Longview Papa Pete's across from Baker's Corner and a few things affected my decision for this rating. The first, the prices are HORRENDOUS! Second, they offer NO specials. Third, we had ordered a large just for the purpose of saving some money and she quoted us at $25 then rang our card for $32! We didn't catch it until after the pizza was made then they didn't refund our money or the difference. Then continued to give us dirty looks like WE were the ones that were in the WRONG! I could not believe how HORRIBLE the service was and how they treat their customers. Even when we got home, the pizza was not $32 worth...by the way, that was just for ONE pizza! You can get 2 the same size at Papa Murphey's for the same price. Oh, and their breadsticks are over a dollar PER breadstick! You get 4 for $4.19! You know, usually I'm not the kinda person to go outa my way to leave a negative review on a restaurant but this was just irritating and overly expensive at the same time. The service was alright, I'd have to say the workers seemed nice. However the food was way too expensive for what you get. I know this might sound stupid but my biggest issue was the drinks were not free refills. Who does that now a days??? I wasn't aware till I went to get them refilled and had to spend an extra 5$-ish to get them refilled. The pop was flat as well but by that point I just wanted to finish the meal and leave. Seems like a cheap trick to gain some extra revenue to me. Anyways, two large pizzas and an order of breadsticks and two pitchers of flat Pepsi came to $75.00.
