My first time at this eatery & enjoyed what I saw: spaciousness, stained glass light shades, long wooden tables, numerous TV screens & a salad bar- oh my! The latter are very few in this area, hence my excitement Paper menus can be found at the counter where orders are placed. I ordered a personal pizza with my choice of 4 toppings, one trip thru the salad bar (large oval plate) & a beverage for a llttle under $20! The salad bar is basic yet sufficient: chopped iceberg lettuce, fresh spinach, sliced beets, a variety of chopped fresh veggies, shredded cheese, a good variety of dressings, croutons & other common type of crunchy toppings. Potato & pasta salads were also present, of which I enjoyed some of both. There are choices of salads made by the staff available as per the menu as well, and unlimited salad bar option for those so choosing. Upon ordering, they give you your plate for salad (if applicable), a beverage cup & a number so they can locate you to deliver your pizza. Help yourself to the beverages (photo) & salad (photos), and soon after I was seated & began eating my salad- my pizza was delivered, hot out of the oven! My pizza toppings of choice was artichokes, pineapple, fresh mushrooms & Italian sausage. I found it to be delicious & especially enjoyed the crust: thin & crispy - just the way I like it! My only complaint is about the artichoke hearts: being a fave vegetable of mine & having consumed many artichokes, I could tell that the ones they use are most likely water packed: my first bite was of a very fibrous & inedible leaf. Whereas my fave artichoke hearts are the ones packed in oil & with some vinegar & Italian herbs, understandably the water packed are less costly. Next time, I just won't order them & choose a different topping. The staff are very friendly as well. Alcohol & a small selection of desserts is also available. We passed by this pizza place a few times and decided we should try it. I'm not entirely sure how you pronounce the name of this restaurant as the sign out front reads "Pie@Trios." The building itself is massive for a pizza parlor. There is plenty of seating both inside and on the patio. The inside felt almost like a drinking hall, with long tables and not too much in the way of decor. The menu had some interesting pizza offerings like a 'Taco Pizza'. But there really wasn't much other than pizza and salad. There was a solid beer list to choose from, and they serve the beer in frosted glasses The pizza itself wasn't overly flavorful. The meat lovers option tasted mostly of ham, and the combination pizza was so loaded with olives and mushrooms it was hard to taste anything else. The pizza slices were incredibly crunchy all the way through (even on the bottom). One thing I'd never seen before, on the combination pizza they served it with rings of raw green pepper on top. It wasn't bad, just different. They also asked if we would prefer canned or fresh mushrooms. Apparently, the canned mushrooms are softer, but we went with fresh. Some tips: I would consider ordering a beer with your pizza. The frosted glasses were a nice touch. The patio is invaded almost like a greenhouse, so, even on chilly days you can enjoy sitting outside without worrying about being chilly. Cheers!! read more

For some reason I had high hopes for the pizza here but I was brought back to reality as soon as it arrived at our table. Crust was really excellent, but the rest of it didn't live up sadly. Way too much cheese, which I know sounds weird to some people but a big blob of tasteless mid cheese doesn't do it for me. Pepperoni was low quality and sausage was worse. I choked down 2 slices of a large and that was plenty. Very disappointing. I did like the place itself, good atmosphere and service but sadly the pizza just isn't worth going back for. read more

I feel like I went back in time to the 80's. The good news is everything was clean and organized. Even the bathrooms!! Now for the pizza! Yummy!!! The cornmeal crust was crunchy yet not burned. We got a large cheese pizza with extra cheese. I guess we didn't need to order extra cheese. There was plenty of it already! (See pic!) We sat outside because they allowed our dogs in their courtyard. (See pic) It was a sunny day and the sun protectors and a nice breeze going through made it especially pleasant. Since this place doesn't have a website, you have to assume facts online are correct. According to what I found, the son or sons of Pietro's founder own and operate this location using original recipes. It's only 5 minutes off I-5 so if you are coming or going from Oregon, it's worth the stop. Back in 2018, we drove to Milwaukee and ate at a large Pietro's. It looked like I remembered as a child and the menu was the same, however, the pizza did not impress. The toppings were really bland, I've never had pepperoni and sausage that needed salt, but the meat was really flavorless, considering we drove out of our way, we were disappointed, so with little information I could verify about this place, again, we were skeptical. It was nearly 100 degrees today, but the place was dark and dingy inside. The décor was not impressive, but service was fast and friendly. When the pizza came, I was impressed. Plenty of corn meal on the crust, the crust had a deep earthy flavor like a hearth bread and the topping were tasty. I only had two knocks on the place. 1) the toppings didn't taste cooked enough, the crust was crisp, but the pepperoni didn't curl and there was no grease on the sausage. 2) There was no lunch special. You should really have a deal or price before 3pm. Like a mini pizza and side salad for $10, or small pizza for $12, something to pull in a crowd. The place was large and could hold multiple parties, but it was like a Halloween haunted house it was so dark inside. Get there and order my salad bar to go and am told NO AGAIN! They don't do salad bar to go. I told them charge me for a salad and add trimmings. It's just for me. We love PieTrio's! The pizza is great, bread sticks and garlic ranch are also fantastic. Service is pretty average I would say but still fast and friendly. It's nice that its got plenty of seating. I took our empty pitcher in and asked about our pizza. They were dumbfounded. Pulled our pizza out of warmer in a to go box. They lost ticket and didn't know who it belonged to. I don't get up to Longview from Portland very often, but when I do I always stop off at Pie @ Trio's. For those that don't quite get the name, there is an actual story behind it as the owners family were a part of the original Pietro's down in Oregon. So the name is actually a sort of modified carry over from the old days. As for the pizza. I've never had a bad one here dine-in or take out. Miss the old salad bar for dinning in, but Covid has changed the way a lot of restaurants do business. I don't recall there ever being a choice between thick or thin crust, theirs is thin. And it's always cooked well, crispy on the bottom, enough that it can hold up the pizza without being too dry, never burnt. Outer crust edge was nicely browned, crispy outside, soft inside. This most recent order was a large half combination and half pepperoni + black olives to take home with me back to Portland. For $28 dollars the pizza was loaded pretty well. Not overly heavy, but certainly not skimpy, no shortage of meats and toppings. Flavor was excellent, the sausage bits were moist and tasty and all the other meats were just right, mushrooms were fresh cut and those fresh olives had nice flavor too. Hot pizza with just a hint of crisp over the top. Sauce, just enough to make for a tasty pie. As for the odd things. There was the option for fresh or canned olives (don't black olives always come canned?) and the green bell peppers for the combination are just set on top in whole uncut rings. What ?!? Is this a do it yourself? So after I got the partially eaten pie home I chopped the bell pepper rings into pieces and spread the green bits out over the combination side with a short oven baked reheat. Seems having them baked with the pizza is pretty much the norm, not sure why they don't do that, or at least chop them up. As for the fresh or canned olives option, I'm not sure what the difference was. Were they freshly just picked off the tree, or maybe they come in a jar or some other container? Hmmm, regardless I went fresh. Lastly, the pie slices are slightly thinner than most I've seen, I actually don't mind, didn't change the taste. They weren't super skinny, just slightly thinner than most pizza places, perhaps a more kid friendly portion size. Taste and texture count, all in all the pizza was great in both departments. Pricing is average and within range of most quality pizza joints. The building is nice and well kept aside from that leaky toilet in the mens bathroom. More TVs than anyone would know what to pay attention to, mobility disabled friendly layout, nice outdoor patio and plenty of easy parking. Friendly staff. read more

We used to frequent here. Menu has changed and the prices have skyrocketed. $40 for a family size pepperoni pizza is outrageous! Salad bar is $8 for basically salad. No one time through or just a side salad anymore. Apparently we could have got to large pepperoni for $17 but the workers never mentioned that?? So we could have got two lattes for the price of one family size. To bad because the place is nice, clean and the staff is great except for not mentioning the special. Two other local pizza places that are good (with similar corn meal used as a non stick) is Bruno's on Washington Way and Papa Pete's on Ocean Beach Highway. If you don't want a buffet, Bruno's has just personal pizza. (not sure on Papa Pete's lunch special.) But still good pizza. (Just like Pietros long ago. Exceptional pizza. They did not skimp on the toppings. Aside from the Pizza, the customer service was amazing! Friendly from the moment we walked in. Then, my 4 year old spilt her whole cup of pop all over the floor, they were so quick about cleaning it up AND they were sooo kind about it. Instead of getting annoyed, they said "it's no big deal, happens all the time" with a smile on their face. This was, in my opinion, a good teaching moment for my kid, as it showed her that when mistakes are made you just clean them up with a smile on your face and move on.
