A fabled diner - 70 years old- and a fabulous place to stop when traveling along the !-5 corridor. As we did today on our trip home from Eugene. It has a history that includes hosting Elvis during the 1962 World's Fair. Retro diner vibe with attentive staff and classic diner fair. In a world that's rapidly changing, it's comforting to see that the Columbia Inn Restaurant does not. I remember stopping here with friends some 15 years ago on the way to Garibaldi. It feels the same...

Stop here before heading back home from a trip . It was good . Diner style I had been craving an open faced turkey sandwich. It was huge . Not bad the potatoes smooth had garlicky flavor. Husband liked his breakfast. Decor was cute . Service was really good . Probably a one time stop just because not in that area but glad we popped in . Thank you

Service was great, food was tasty and interior was clean. I enjoyed seeing the table game that is the same one my grandfather used to have and we would play at our beach house. I got the beef stew with garlic bread. Flavorful and large portion that filled me up and appeared to be freshly made from scratch. A nice stop for food on the road to Tacoma from Portland. The signage is pretty awesome too!

I LOVE traditional roadside diners. I will go out of my way to eat at places like this because it is always so much better than chains like Denny's or Ihop. This one has Elvis eat here once and proudly display a Jumbo Elvis burger. I had to get it . This burger was massive! Over a pound of meat and melty cheese, and all the fixings. It's important to note they never buy premade patties, instead choosing fresh hamburgers made into patties in the restaurant. This burger was enormous, and was easily the best burger I have ever had in my life. My wife had a buffalo burger which was also wonderful. I took 1 star off for a couple reasons, but none of them are really a big deal. 1) the soda was a little watered down tasting 2) they don't take AMEX and 3)the fry options are crinkle cut and tots, I hate crinkle cut so I got tots, but I would kill for this burger to come with some home cut fries or a big ol steak fry. It was a little expensive but nothing crazy, and I would honestly pay more for food this good. OH, lastly, they got the good ranch.

We were on our way from Portland to Seattle and gotten hungry in the middle of nowhere. Then the Port of Kalama shows up and we stopped at this restaurant. Granted there is not much of a choice here. We were greeted happily and shown to our table. The menu was classic American diner so I had my go to, hot turkey sandwich. My wife had the freshly dipped fish and chips. Both dishes were well prepared and delicious.

The service is top notch! I love the nostalgia of it all. Will keep coming back! And there is a smoke patio outside of the bar area that is covered. Also they have chocolate chip pancakes! She'll bring out a side of chocolate syrup too

Long trip from Eugene to Bellingham and needed some dinner. So glad we found this place. Easy off the highway and adorable inside. The menu was huge, portions perfect and food was delicious. Staff was friendly, service was fast and restaurant was very clean. I would definitely recommend and would stop here again for sure.

Always excellent service. French Dip is best anywhere. Breakfasts are wonderful. We enjoy the senior menu.

The restaurant was empty, other than one table with two people. The atmosphere seemed very unwelcoming. The waitress who did seat us, was dressed in a black halter top that was so low, it exposed her breasts. Her entire back area was exposed as well, showing her bright pink bra. It was not only provocative, but embarrassing to even look at her, it was very distasteful. Why management would let someone dress like that, says a lot about the restaurant as a whole, in our opinion. Once seated, our drink order was taken right away, and shortly thereafter, our order. The food was delivered within a timely manner and was tasty. We felt it was also reasonably priced. This day and age, we understand it is not easy to find employees that actually want to work. But when you do, allowing them to dress in a manner, which makes your customers feel uncomfortable, is not acceptable.

It did have plenty of bacon and clams in it but the broth of the chowder was different. We did not care for it and it was very different than other clam chowder dishes. Next we ordered the cod fish and chips and the crab sandwich. Along with those came fries and coleslaw. The fries were hot and amazing while the coleslaw was very dry with little sauce. The fish and chips were the best ever. They were even better than perfect. Next we shared the crab sandwich and neither of us took more than a bite. It was actually terrible but not sure if it was as intended or not to our taste. Either way with all this tasting the fish and chips were great but nothing else was even something we would ever order again. The restaurant was clean except for the floor. It was very sticky. Servers were good in taking our order and handing us the bill but never came back to check on us once. Needless to say if we want fish & chips, we get them as a takeout. We would definitely order the fish again as it rated 5 stars with us but nothing else. The chowder was 2 stars in our mind and the crab sandwich a 1 star.
