I would highly recommend Dr. Papale for LASIK. I started wearing glasses in 1986. I wore contacts for over 30 years. I decided to commit to LASIK in 2016 and believe it was the best decision! I have recently had PRK surgery with Dr. Papale. Not only can i see perfectly, i was also treated like gold. Every appointment before and after made me feel very comfortable. I debated for 10 years to correct my eyes and never went through with it until this year. They made me understand everything and answered every question i had. Went to Doctor Rubis and she has this way of talking to you that is not friendly it is very matter of fact and almost robotic. She did not come across as caring or interested in my concerns. She referred me to a specialist in Boston which was unnecessary when Dr FRANGIE who is in West Springfield is perfectly capable of treating the keraticonis I have. Dr Papale is the best in the Springfield area. his staff is knowledgeable, efficient, accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend him for your yearly eye exam or for needed cataract surgery. Showed up for an appointment with Dr. Papale that had been scheduled 1 month ago. At the receptionist window I am informed that Dr. Papale DOES NOT accept my insurance. W.T.H. Why was this not mentioned when I originally called to schedule the appointment?? Not ONLY did I waste 1 hour driving to the office, and 1 hour driving home, I lost 1 month of time that could have been used to schedule an appointment with another surgeon. If I needed to cancel my appointment at the last minute, I would be charged for the office visit. Do I get compensated for my lost time??????? read more

From start to finish Dr. Papale and his staff were about to walk me through the Lasik process. I was able to be accommodated very quickly so I could have the surgery and still be eligible for my military training in the summer. Other locations wouldn't accommodate me because I was only 19 even though I was entering the military. Bridget informed me of all the possible risks involved with the surgery and answered every question I had. During the surgery Dr. Papale keeps patients at ease telling them exactly what is happening. Following the surgery great care is taken into what medicine is prescribed and instructions are very clear from start to finish. Stupidly I rubbed one eye and incurred some blurry vision that freaked me out. Dr. Papale and his staff were able to see me right away to address my concern. Checkup appointments can be a little long at 45 to 90 minutes because Dr. Papale is very thorough with everyone, but time is only a small price to pay for strong eye health and excellent service. Patients of all ages, especially young kids entering the military like myself, can put their trust into Dr. Papale and his team for their LASIK/PRK needs. read more
