I've been bringing my daughter to Empire Adventure Park for about TWO YEARS. I have NEVER seen this place run the way it was on Saturday, August 22. We arrived around 7:45 PM and paid FULL PRICE, yet multiple attractions were already closed or had nobody working them. The bumper cars were closed, another attraction my daughter wanted to use had no employee operating it, and the attraction with the hanging seats was basically shut down. Parents were pushing their own children until an employee came over and told them it was closed for the night. There was also nobody properly directing the dodgeball area. Laser tag was closed as well, although I'm not sure if that was due to renovations. Then around 8-something I tried to get my daughter a slushy and was told that was closed too. The MAIN bathroom was closed, so everyone was being directed to the family bathroom, which was absolutely disgusting. What I don't understand is how you can advertise that you're open until 10 PM on a Saturday, charge families full admission, and then have multiple attractions and services unavailable more than TWO HOURS before closing. Their own website currently advertises Saturday hours until 10 PM and lists several of these attractions as part of admission. (Empire Adventure Park) I spoke to the manager on duty because there appeared to be plenty of employees around, yet so many areas either had no one working them or were already closed. I'm not a first-time customer who doesn't know how this place normally operates. I've been coming here for two years, which is exactly why this visit stood out so much. If customers are paying full price, the attractions included with that admission should be available during operating hours, or customers should be informed BEFORE paying that they will have limited access. I have already contacted upper management and requested an explanation and appropriate compensation. This was extremely disappointing, especially coming from a place we have enjoyed and supported for years.

The expense and amount that needed to be done was overwhelming and I needed to figure out a way to rein it in. Hiring a DJ for a Bar Mitzvah is a must, but it isn't as simple as that. The company is also responsible for providing the rest of the kids activities and, most importantly, keeping the party entertaining and flowing. Having recently moved to Connecticut and not put on an affair like this in over two decades since my wedding, I had no idea who to go to and how to keep in manageable. Also, living in CT and never having lived on Long Island, I obviously had no awareness of Great Neck Games. Randomly, an acquaintance at my Synagogue mentioned them in passing. It was honestly the greatest thing that happened to me in planning the event. Although, I am not saying it was cheap in any way, they worked with me on price and activities in order to keep the cost manageable. But, honestly, I still had no idea what to expect day of and how it would all actually take shape. The low hanging fruit was all done flawlessly. Everything that we ordered was delivered and the room looked beautiful. But, it was the little things and the people that made this event so much better than a run-of-the-mill Bar Mitzvah (see below for two of many amazing photos). Everyone was so happy and had such a great time and I credit DJ Keith Webb along with (I wish I knew their names) the MC and motivators. Keith was so much more than just a DJ. We had a separate room for the adults and he brought a speaker and playlist so they had music in that room. There was no charge for this as he just wanted to help make the event a success. He helped me negotiate the price on a couple of things we needed last minute to keep us within budget. He had a smile on his face the entire time that could fill the room. I am so grateful to him and wish I had the ability to hire him time and again. And, the MC...don't get me started on how great he was. I feel bad that I still don't know his name, but as you can imagine the day was a whirlwind and there was lots going on. He was simply special. He made every kid and adult feel like it was their day as well. But, he especially made my son feel like he should at a party of this magnitude. The motivators, two beautiful and talented women, were equally responsible for making both kids and adults feel engaged, happy and special. They were perfect. I am going to cut this here as it is crazy long, but I cannot thank Great Neck Games enough for what they did. I didn't want to put on such an expensive affair, but they did something I didn't think was possible - made me happy I did it. And, they truly deserve a large share of the credit.

So you purchase credits to play all the games! It's a money maker for this place. Also you have a small store where you can exchange tickets for prizes. I think you know how that works, spending a big price on tickets for a small prize in the end. : s My son enjoyed the Jurassic world adventure shooting arcade game and likes the jumping area. I was able to go in for about 20 minutes until I was told by a young staff member there that his boss told him that Adults aren't allowed in that play area. Your miles may vary. W walks enjoyed the bowling alley. Again paid by putting credits on your card using a machine that takes cash debit and credit cards to exchange for points on the plastic card give by the Person at the front after your check in and sign a waiver for your child to protect their asses from any injuries your child may receive while playing there. Was it worth it? Yeah. Would I go back again, probably not. It's good way to kill some time with your kids. But other than that I wouldn't repeat it. My son did get some good exercise in. I paid for two photographers and two days before he insisted I did not (not what you want to hear). Thank God I made him write it in the contract (so I thought)...that then served as a reminder for him. Big waste of money...all the images were horrible, lacked elegance, talent and were just plain sloppy. So sad :( I was just happy to get my pictures that did come out good and go!!! As an uncle, I was a little uncomfortable initially helping with a party at a spa for little girls. But the staff was really nice and the little girls had an amazing time. The place is set up a little like a nail salon. The children got robes and were pampered. They got their nails done, facials, make up, and they got their hair done (braided, etc). They even had a little photo shoot in the back area in front of a pink carpet and Pink Ritzy Glitzy Girls Club back splash, almost like being in an award show. The staff was very nice and worked really hard to make the girls feel good. The girls were so excited and happy that they will talk about their experience for weeks. They also made lip gloss and lotion. The "club" had pink plush chairs and a pink plush theme that seems perfect for little girls.
