Having said that I was at a different hote, half a mile away and walked by this place. The server Cedric was AMAZING. Our waitress was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and always on top of everything. She was easily the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the food was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. It honestly reminded me of a low-end hotel breakfast buffet. The buffet itself is very small with limited options. There was no fresh fruit bar, no waffle station, and no charcuterie or breakfast meat-and-cheese selection. They do offer cereal, but overall the selection felt underwhelming. The scrambled eggs on the buffet tasted like powdered eggs. To their credit, you can order freshly made eggs or an omelet from the kitchen, which is a much better option. The bacon was noticeably undercooked, although the sausage patties, potatoes and gravy were actually pretty good. Pancakes were awful. If you want toast, a bagel, or an English muffin, be prepared to run it through the conveyor toaster multiple times... about five passes before it was actually toasted. Overall, this place is in serious need of an upgrade. With so many outstanding breakfast restaurants nearby, I'd recommend spending your time at one of those instead. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning before our cheer competition. It wasn't busy and we were sat right away. Adults are $13.95 per person and children 12 and under $8.95 per person. There were about 9-10 items in the hot bar. Also offered was toast, bagel, yogurt, cup of fruit, cereal and milk. The coffee wasn't great- I liken it to bad hotel coffee. They were great at keeping it hot with refills. Shedrick was memorable In making our visit as good as possible. Plates were picked up quickly and everyone was so friendly! Unfortunately the food was mostly pre-done....(example, powdered eggs over freshly scrambled. Just no. Why do a breakfast buffet and not just freshly scramble and cook eggs??? But you can ask for a freshly made omelette.) The food was all fresh and hot, but like I said, all pre-done. The french toast sticks were pre-done, not freshly made, biscuits too. The gravy seemed prepared and warmed. The grits were seasoned super well though. And the set up was poor in that it took twice as long to go through the buffett line the way it was set up. If they rework the set up it would be more people friendly. I would give this place 5 for service and friendliness and cleanliness and 2 for the food. read more

We live very close, but this was our first time here. We wanted a breakfast buffet within walking distance and other options weren't open. We were seated immediately and the server came over right away to get our drink orders, she was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is nice, pleasing decor. Have to say it was okay but not outstanding. On the positive side, the French toast and the biscuits and sausage gravy were excellent. The bacon was plentiful and had some cooked crispy and some less so, so something for everyone. On the less positive side, the scrambled eggs, sausage links, and sausage patties were all overcooked and dry. Other than a few whole oranges, there was no fresh fruit. We only found out the last day we could have had made to order eggs/omelets but only from a guest not 1 staff member. I mean, this was a great breakfast buffet considering all we had to leave was a tip. For staying at The Breakers resort, we were given breakfast for 2 daily for free here. We ended up going twice out of 4 mornings (we slept too late the last day and another day we wanted to focus on lunch somewhere instead). Our son is 3 and he was free so this worked out perfectly. The buffet was well managed. Food was promptly refilled at the slightest sign that it was running low. Easy layout to follow. Tons of choices. My husband really loved the grits. The waitstaff was really attentive as well. You are even offered to-go cups to take a cup of coffee, oj or something to drink with you. Hence, if you're staying at The Breakers, be sure to fuel up here for your day. read more

This was genuinely the worst breakfast I has ever eaten. I ate here when I stayed at The Breaker's Resort. I imagine that it is somehow apart of there entire entity. However- the menu suggests that you can order items a lacarte but you cannot. They only offered buffet when I went here and that was really cheap and basic. I wanted to order an stack of hot pancakes and eat some fresh eggs... but instead only after I sat down did I find out that the buffet was the only option and that the food was horrifying. The buffet food was dry and cold and the man cleaning off the tables was talking to everyone and wearing his mask on his chin. They seated people way too close and then sat a table right next to us with four kids who would touch our table and with COVID nothing got cleaned. Well where to start... for the price they charge there should be fresh fruit, not fruit cups, the eggs are liquid eggs not real, had to ask for real eggs. Also the pancakes are not homemade I picked up the pancake and started pulling it apart to eat it and the half of it was hard as a rock literally the biscuits were hard and over cooked. The waitress was lovely she was very helpful and accommodating to us. As far as going back NO WAY! I would suggest going to the Coffee House Eats and Treats 9th Ave., on the boardwalk. We ate here numerous times during our week-long stay at The Breakers Resort. Our package included free breakfasts so that was nice! This was a great breakfast buffet! I was actually shocked by some of the negative reviews! I thought it was excellent and the staff were AWESOME! Really, even if the food was terrible (which it totally wasn't), the staff deserves 5-stars!!! I LOVED the selection of breakfast items: Scrambled eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, pancakes, a "special" item which hanged daily (ex. kielbasa sausage with peppers and onions -my personal favorite, a frittata, what looked like dirty rice(??). They also had a fresh waffle maker, assorted breads, bagels, muffins, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, oatmeal, etc. There was a wait each time we came but it never was too lengthy. Our server was great. The food quality not so much. The eggs were the "fake" kind that are sold to a lot of restaurants which is a watered down egg product. They lag a little on the refills, but I believe they were a server short during my stay at breakers. Even overwhelmed, they were extremely courteous and helpful, although perhaps not with each other. Solid breakfast buffet! This spot is located across the street from The Breakers Resort and if you are staying there is very convenient. The package I booked for The Breakers included a daily breakfast at Papa's so we eat there just about every day for breakfast. A few of the days there was a wait of 15 minutes or so to be seated as we walked in around 10am and they soft close at 10:30am but, most of the days we got right in without waiting. The buffet features bacon, pancakes, biscuits with gravy, do it yourself waffles, sausage links or patties (depending on the day of the week) breakfast potatoes or hash browns (depending on the day of the week) grits, scrambled eggs with chicken fajita meat and salsa, fruit, muffins, English muffins, toast, different boxes of mini cereals, and apple, orange, grape and cranberry juice. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I never saw particular item run out as they were consistently bringing out more food. My favorites were the waffles as they come out so pillowy soft, those amazing biscuits, and the creamy grits. The sausage and bacon were cooked perfectly each day also. We had the same server just about every morning and she always took good care of us and even provided us with to go cups of sweet tea everyday at no charge. They also offer a regular breakfast menu if the buffet is not your thing. For $10 per person it's a pretty good deal for a quick breakfast. I highly recommend them. read more

We went to this restaurant for breakfast on our most recent stay in Myrtle Beach due to it's proximity to our hotel room. We were able to be seated right away, which honestly on a Saturday morning should have said something to us. Most of us chose to have the buffet breakfast which was barely a step above the free continental breakfast offered at Holiday Inn Express. There are way better places not that far away so do yourself a favor and drive or walk a half mile to a mile south on Ocean Blvd and hit up one of the pancake houses. read more

Lots of different food options which is good with two small children. Gets busy between 7:30-8:30 but that's b/c of all the golfers getting breakfast before their tee times. Papa's is part of The Breakers resort complex. Named for Ernest "Papa" Hemmingway inside is decorated like your eating with a island plantation owner. Old fishing rods and reels and island murals and palm trees adorn the walls. Enter and your greeted by a friendly hostess who seats you We had breakfast here each morning as part of our room package. A very large, above average buffet, with everything breakfast and a special feature each morning, such as Monday they had fajita fixin's and I made myself a fajita omlet, YUM! They also have a fruit bar, waffle maker, bagles, ect. and if you don't want the scrambled eggs on the buffet, they will fix your eggs to order or make you an omlet. Some great seasoned home fries and corned beef hash too. Plus Friday featured my favorite, country ham! Service was friendly and very attentive. Stacey was fantastic and we asked to be seated in her section each morning. She would go out of her way to get you anything you wanted and would take time to stop and chat with you as well. Coffee cups never got more than half empty before refills arrived and plates were cleared promptly. She also thanked us each day when we left. Her service was so good I wanted to leave her an extra large tip and I did!! I hope Stacey is there when we go back. Upon leaving the hostess also thanks you and tells you to have a great day. Not only was the food terrible, everything was bland and chemically tasting even the fruit but the friendly service never seemed to be around when you needed something.
