We've visited Milk & Honey several times and have always known them for their pastries, which are typically very good. However, the breakfast menu is quite limited. On this visit, we ordered the biscuit egg sandwich, and it was extremely dry with very little flavor--definitely disappointing. What also stood out was the service model. You order at the counter, pick up your own food, and are expected to bus your table, yet there's still an expectation for a tip. That didn't quite align with the level of service provided. Had been hearing from friends and family what a great breakfast spot Milk & Honey Coffee Cafe was, so I decided to stop in and try them out. They have some great breakfast options on their menu, unfortunately for me several of the items I was interested in were not available on the day I visited for breakfast. Since the menu is not extensive that left me with limited options for my meal. I did choose, and enjoyed the Classic Eggs and Toast, I substituted the toast for a biscuit. It was very good, especially the bacon, but not what my belly had intended for my meal. Rather the write a review complaining about the lack availability for several breakfast items on this day, I stopped by the counter on my way out and spoke to a team member. They explained that there was a recent change in ownership and they were working through adjusting the orders, etc. with the new ownership. They were polite, helpful and gracious about the whole thing and offered a coupon for breakfast on a return visit. What a hidden gem! I have been fortunate to come here a few times and everything is SO amazing! The pastries are flaky, buttery, and delicious. The turkey sandwich with brie and fig jam is beyond flavorful and also the portion is massive! The staff are so friendly and helpful and have allowed me samples when I was unsure of a tea options. They have plenty of seating and it would make a great place to work. They also have water ready and available which is a nice touch. Cannot recommend enough! read more

Walked in here and immediately felt kind of rushed and like there was a lot to take in. The menu was buried behind the counter and bakery case so it was hard to see. The woman who took our orders was not shy about letting us know that working was not where she wanted to be. I ordered the "special" latte - bananas foster and was immediately disappointed. The coffee flavor was interesting and the fake banana flavor was gross. It wasn't creamy like lattes usually are. Visiting Surfside from out of town and wanted to try a local coffee shop. I had read good reviews about Milk and Honey in a local Facebook group and decided to give it a try. I ordered an iced Maple Sea Salt latte, and it was hands down one of the best coffees I've ever had. The café itself is charming and has ample seating for eating, hanging out, or working. Hard to explain the uniqueness of this spacious yet cozy café. The owner clearly takes pride in his business, and the staff are all incredibly competent and pleasant. The coffee is top notch. I confess that I am a coffee snob. The beans that they roast here are so good! I use them for my home espresso setup. Their pastries are also made on site and are delicious! I love the Classic Toast & Eggs (with extra bacon ), chocolate revel bar, apricot scone, Bee Sting Latte, Cortado, and Ricotta Toast. Not a ton of coffee shops in this area but found this sweeeet little shop off highway. Large selection of coffees and flavors. The teas are limited with just a few blacks, herbals and couple others like rooibos but enough to find something you can enjoy. Cooler filled with bottled drinks too. When walking in the first thing I'm drawn to is the decor, plants! As a fellow house plant owner and avid gardner this place is amazing. For the food, and coffee they have a lot of pastries and food to choose from, and gluten free options as well. I chose the rosemary vanilla latte! Friendly staff, and the wait was not very long for a Saturday. They have a wall of roasted coffee and a binder with all the coffee roasting profiles, which I appreciate as a coffee roaster! Really cute local coffee shop in the Surfside Beach area. Popped in for some iced coffee and was very impressed by the selection of drinks and FOOD! So many of their pastries looked absolutely amazing and had unique flavor pairings. I tried an iced maple sea salt latte (I think that's what it was called :)), and it was heavenly. The service was quick and friendly. The space itself was much larger than I was expected with an extra room with ample seating. This was my favorite coffee shop in Garden city/Surfside/Murrell's inlet bar-none. The coffee is excellent. The decor is stellar. They have a variety of fresh pastries, including random fun ones, and not just your average blueberry muffins and croissants. The staff is patient, helpful, and demonstrates Southern hospitality and charm. I liked their egg, cheese, and bacon biscuit. These are excellent biscuits, flavorful and moist. I've been coming here for 2-3 years and it's such a lovely place. They have find a really good job with the remodel and making it even cozier. I like that one side of the shop is bright and well lit, while the other side is low lit and cozy. Both areas are fantastic for having a coffee or light meal with friends. The coffee is great. My personal favorite is an ice coffee, touch of oat milk, and rosemary-vanilla syrup. I like a little extra in mine. It's such a unique but not overwhelming flavor. It's not overly sweet, and is just a touch herby. The food and baked goods are what really elevates this from a 4 to a 5 star. Every single pastry knocks it right out of the park. The morning buns are a go to. Think of it like a more savory (but still sweet) cinnamon roll. The food is very good and uses fresh ingredients. I particularly love the avocado toast and the peanut butter banana french toast. Service is always friendly. It can be a bit slow sometimes as they get pretty busy. So maybe not a fit if you're in a rush and need a fast coffee. But always delicious! read more

We stumbled upon this gem by accident and we're glad we did. We stopped here everyday for the remainder of our vacation and will continue to come back next time we're at Myrtle beach. The cafe itself is very quaint and cozy. I could hang here all day! It's super inviting, especially if you're looking to find a place to get some work done (free Wi-Fi!). One side of the cafe has seating, mainly tables but a couch or two, with lots of cute artwork and plants. They even have a plant menu with plants for purchase! The other side of the cafe is a little shop with a lot of cool, locally created items like artwork, jewelry, etc, and other must have beach items. The baristas were inviting and friendly. We ordered the Maple Sea Salt lattes and they were divine. The sea salt really sets off the maple flavor, and cuts through some of the sweet for a well-balanced tasty treat. M&H also has a limited menu of food with a daily special. We didn't try any food on this trip but will definitely in the future. My flat white was prepared perfectly and was great coffee. Strong but with just the right amount of cream to kill the bitterness. Inside the restaurant is plenty of seating. Sofas, tables, comfy chairs. They do a lot of breakfast trade here - the shakshuka looked and smelled great - but it was just coffee and wifi for me today. Such a cute coffee shop! I actually love that it isn't beach themed, but very nicely decorated with a good mix of soft seating for sipping coffee and tables if you have food. The food and coffee we ordered was all delicious and service was quick.
