This happened on 7/15/17 This is my favorite club/ bar to go to when we are in Ensenada & when we go Rosarito. That's if we even get to go out since we have kids.. I've been going there since I turned 18. Mind you I was born in 1981 and I'm no teenager now. Haven't really frequent papas & beer in a few years. But today we celebrated my nephews 23rd birthday. We came prepared to spend money on drinks(money was and is not a problem here) the problem was that we never received a receipt for the first bottle of red Lable whiskey and when we ordered the second bottle we never received it either. My cousin went to the restroom like 2 minutes after getting the second bottle, her and a younger cousin of mine read a sign in the restroom that said if you are not given a receipt for what you ordered- don't pay! So she went and mentioned it to our waiter and he said that he could give the woman in the group shot so my cousin was obviously like No that's not what it says!!! We would want the money back since we didn't get our Bill/ receipt but we did pay them each time.. the point is and was that they have that sign up saying that if you don't get a receipt you should t pay.. they should t have signs up like that if they are not going to honor it. We let 2 general managers know about it there names are Carlos and the second is Osvaldo. After speaking to the first Manager Carlos he said they had just let go of the manager. When we spoke with the second manager that manager said if we gave him the waiters name he would help us. My cousin said she didn't know his name but guess what. I recorded him after my cousin mentioned to him the issue. I showed the video to the manager and all he said was wait here let me check.. an hour later the club is going to close and still no manager, we are tired so we had to leave. A Bartender gave us the name of the general manager for the day time and said we are better off speaking to him. 1 call later and still no response.. it's a great club. Too bad they don't honor what they have up on the walls. Thumbs down for me won't ever be back. I realize that they can care less about the group of us not going since they have hundreds of people going everyday/ weekend but just thought I would let everyone know. read more

Solid place for some grub and surprise ..beer! Came here when I was taking a cruise.. Unfortunately I was hungover and didn't partake in the fun shots. But they were Suuuuuper entertaining to watch. Ha! Service was lacking but it's Mexico and I didn't GAF. Huge and amazing chicken Caesar salad that hit the spot and my friend got fudged up off of one very strong margarita. We were in Ensenada in November and this place was loaded with people and crazy wild with loud music and people pouring out onto the sidewalk. After having read comments about drunk behavior and beatings, this was not a place I wanted to take my family although they are all adults. However, we were here again during a cruise on Christmas day and the place was dead, very few people and none of the party madness this place is known for... So, we gave it a try to say we did with a group of 9. After having stopped at a few other places for drinks and food around Ensenada (Garibaldi's & the Warf area) before getting here, Papas and Beer was definitely more expensive but, it is a cool place to hang out. Clean, rustic, nice bar tables inside and out, and it was a great place to hang out for drinks and atmosphere. Just expect to pay more. read more

I had a great experience in Mexico, this was my first time there I visited papas an beer cantina and I had a great time, great service. I had the pleasure of meeting an awesome person, Diego was my waiter I have nothing bad to say he gave us great service if you are planing to visit Ensenada I would recomendable going there and asking for Diego. read more

Best place ever! For food drinks fun and service. If you're looking for a fun time make sure you volunteer for a "special shot". Jose our waiter was friendly and attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The fish tacos and freshly made guacamole is awesome! This place is so fun!!!! If you're looking to party this is your place to go! It was a great time. Alcohol is hella expensive for Mexico though. If they come up to give you a shot of tequila be prepared to spend 10$. Recommend as a party place only. read more

My husband and I went here a week ago with some friends and it was fun, GREAT people watching. The guys who work there are on a mission to get you Tequilla drunk by pouring it down your throat (we only watched). The environment is fun. The only downsides are the patio gets over crowded because it's small and their drinks are pricier then other places (because they are such a hot spot). The bathrooms here however are very nice and clean. I think we'd go back for round 2 if we're ever down there again. read more

I don't get the hype about this place. To me it was just like every other over priced restaurant/bar here in the states. White people, if you want an actual and cheaper Mexican cantina experience, I recommend going deeper into Ensenada for the "Real" Mexican experience! Went to Ensenada for the day since it rained at our Villa and our pool day wasnt happening... Seemed like all the younger adults from the cruise came to P&B to get shit faced and hump each other while their parents/grandparents were shopping the tourist main street.... It was entertaining to watch, but also embarrassing as an American... Drinks were overpriced, but worth checking out when youre there and a younger adult.. oh and beware for the tequila shots- they kind of force people to take them then charge you $10! read more

We were having a great time until our the music was interrupted by an ad! We didn't pay a cover to come in there and have our fun night interrupted ads. You charge a cover and then show force us all to see ads on top of that. That's just f**king greed right there. We all know you got paid to show that ad. DO NOT EVER COME HERE TO WATCH ANY SOCCER GAMES! Our waiter never checked on us and throughout the whole game. Also, while I was eating my food, there was a staff blowing a whistle constantly and taking a costumer's shirt off. I thought the loud, annoying whistle blowing was going to end, but it never did. A visit during the carnival cruise (12/16). Their employee profiled my party (3 females). We walked in the near empty establishment. We said hello to two girls from our cruise ( I actually referred them to go to Papas earlier in the day) An employee tells us we need to order if we want to stay (which we had plan to) I quickly asked for some nachos, thinking we can order more stuff later. Moments later this employee comes back and says my order needs to be $25. On that note we leave (out of principle not money) We tell our friends (white) from the cruise bye. They revealed what they ordered did not come up to $25, and they were never told what we were told. Very interesting, something I noted with cruise line. read more

Group of ten of us visited this bar in early November 2017 about mid day. The atmosphere is great but that's about it, we ordered 3 buckets of beer among ten people. The bill comes and list numerous food items and 5 buckets of beer $287.00. After some heated discussion with the waiter he removes the food but keep the five buckets of beer. We asked for the manager, he comes and says they have video and he is going to go check, the manager never returned. In the meme time they bring in their armed security, most of us are in our mid 50"s. I'm thinking really this is the way they treat customers. They charged us $6 a beer and I went down the street and paid $1.5 for the same beer. My suggestion if you want to see a crazy atmosphere its the place in town. But go eat and drink somewhere else it's a third of the price. I mentioned this to someone on our cruise and he heard the same thing. They usually start this crap closer to when the ship sails and you are worried you won't make back to the ship in time so you just pay the bill. I go to Ensenada regularly and the other bars in town appreciate the tourist. read more

Just visited for my first time with my boyfriend. Drinks were delicious! California burrito was awesome. I would pass on the carne asada nachos next time. I thought the pricing was not bad at all. We expected about a $50 bill and it ended up being $33. We ordered 4 drinks, two meals, and tacos. Which was way too much food for just the two of us but still very cheap for all of that. Trying to get the check took a very long time, but there was a language barrier between us and the server so maybe that's why. It was a fun environment, we will be back. read more

If all you want to do is party hard and get drunk and not care about how much you spend or someone trying to steal your identity, then this might be the spot for you. Personally I don't recommend this place at all. I had been here maybe about 10 yrs ago and I remember it being smaller and more of locals place and not many tourist, which I prefer because every tourist location always tries to rip you off. Went this past weekend and ordered 4 beers we paid with a debit card and the waiter asked for an ID. He then began to write down all the information down from the ID, name, address, etc. We immediately realized what he was doing so we tore the page right out of his hands as he was writing. We asked what he was doing and he said it was standard, which we all know is complete BS. We decided to just leave immediately because we then noticed the waiter talking to the other waiters and looking our way. It just gave us a bad vibe and we didn't feel comfortable at all. Waiters are cons and you cannot trust people there. I rather go to smaller local bars and be treated respectfully and most importantly go to a place I can feel safe. read more

Watch out here! We were in a group of 16 and some of us paid separate for our drinks. They still added our drinks to the total bill and of course, they were short. Who wants to go to jail In mexico?
