Today was my first visit to this particular Sherman's but my wife's second time. Good location in…read moredowntown Freeport within walking distance of plenty of parking options. I would say that both my wife and I agree to this particular location not being the best of Sherman's. Despite that if you are in the area and looking to support a local Maine bookstore it is a solid enough option. Firstly I will say all the staff we encountered were friendly, the first offering to move out of the way if we wanted to look at books close to where she was at. A second nicely asked us if we needed any assistance and lastly the staff who checked us out was friendly as well. Space wise I think it is lacking compared to some of the other Sherman's locations. Some of the areas felt a little too crowded. They do have everything you would expect from a Sherman's, new and popular books along with classics and hidden gems of every genre. Also stationary, stuffed animals, kids toys, gifts, souvenirs, and more. Prices seemed about the same as other locations and they do have their vast on-sale sections to secure good book deals. I would say if this is the first and only Sherman's you have visited do yourself a favor and check other ones out before fully judging the chain overall.

I picked up what I needed and went to pay and another woman at that register was just as unfriendly as the older woman. Very disappointed as I traveled quite a ways to go to Freeport. I hired Maine Photo Booth Company for my wedding and was very pleased with them. They were very…read moreprofessional and easy to communicate with. The photo booth delivery and pick up went smoothly, and I was impressed that they went to the site before the wedding to be 100% sure that delivery would be possible. The photo booth attendant was very friendly. I had ordered some paper photo booth props online, and she pointed them out to guests as they entered the booth. She also assembled a photo guest book for me, where she had people add their photos and write a message. This was perfect since I didn't have a real guestbook. Here is the best part about the photo booth: You get a thumb drive with all the images at the end of the night. I was so excited to see all the wedding photos and this was instant gratification. Flipping through the guest book the next day was also a blast and I know it is something I will keep forever. I high recommend this company, definitely worth the price. The booth does both color and black and white photos.

My wife and I were in town visiting her mom on our annual summer trip and decided to pop out for a…read morequick night cap before the kids had to go to bed. We stopped in not long before closing time on Tuesday and sat down right away at the bar with a couple drinks. With most of the action being down in Portland, we weren't expecting much from a little bar tucked away in sleepy Falmouth, but we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in at how chic but inviting the room was. It's a relatively small space, but I think it feels bigger than it is. The vibe and the cocktails were so good, we ended up going back Friday night before we left as well. On the latter evening, my wife got the wine flight and let the bartender choose for her. She brought out an albariño, a skin contact pinot grigio from Slovenia, and a red from the country of Georgia. She ended up buying bottles of the last two (and at prices that would make grocery stores blush to boot!). All excellent in their own, unique ways. I got the espresso martini with the Amarula cold foam after Tuesday evening's bartender so strongly encouraged me to do so. It was solid and the cold foam was really tasty (if you haven't had Amarula yet, go out and get a bottle like... now) though trying to make sure I got some cold foam with the martini itself became challenging pretty quickly. I might have to just stir it in next time to get the full effect. A very solid beverage indeed. To top it off, we got the manchego charcuterie board, which had 3 nice wedge-shaped slices along with a variety of items, including almonds, pickles, mostarda, and gluten free crackers that were reminiscent of seedy Triscuits. All really delicious and again at a reasonable price. All in all, this was an extremely pleasant find for us. An excellent, quiet, modern bar 5 minutes away without all the craziness of the Old Port (as much as we love it down there still though!). I can't wait to go back!

Firstly if you read my first review you will know that we loved the cocktails we tried and the space in general. Such an inviting and fantastically designed spot. Days they are open starting at 4 they turn into a table service spot. We showed up in the earlier end and snagged some bar seats. Was fantastic watching the drinks being made, especially excited for my wife to watch her Ramos Gin Fizz being made. A must try cocktail if you've never experienced it! Both bartenders were fantastic and we enjoyed the conversations we had with them. Top notch service can be expected here. As mentioned above my wife had the Gin Fizz while I tried their version of the popular Espresso Martini and it was fantastic. Food wise they have snacks, cheese and meat boards and small plates. Certainly a spot you should come to and share plates with your party. We kicked off our meal with the Bread and Butter which was sourdough from Bread & Friends and had such a flavorful compound butter to spread on top. Afterwards we each got their daily special Lobster Slider which imagine a lobster roll inside a small croissant and wooooow it blew us away! We were told it was the first day it was offered we hope it becomes a permanent menu item. Small sized but packed so much flavor with a delicious lemon aioli and perfectly made flakey croissant. Then we split the Crispy Potatoes and the Spanish Tortilla dishes. We loved both dishes with giving a slight edge to the Spanish Tortilla but you could not go wrong with either one for a potato dish. Lastly as an end cap to the date night we enjoyed the Chocolate Panna Cotta and impressed like the rest of our meal. I will say with this date night revisit and half-way into 2026 that REVEL is still the best new opening in Maine that we have visited! Highly recommend checking out this amazing spot for both drinks and food.

Sherman's is the series of bookstores in Maine that are the oldest in the state. This happens to be…read morethe newest location of the chain which opened last year in July. It's located in the same plaza as the Shaws. It is a great location and would be a no brainer to be the go to bookstore if we were located closer. My wife could spend hours and hours browsing around this or any bookstore. They do offer more than jus books including puzzles, board games, jewelry, stationary, journals and more. They have all of the variety of genres you would expect and have all of the new releases and classics you'd expect. The different sections are labeled well and the entire space is spread out well enough to never make you feel crowded even if it were busy. Prices are what you'd expect for a bookstore and if you are looking for a deal you can browse their on sale books and maybe find a hidden gem. My wife and I enjoyed browsing this Sherman's and my wife even thinks it is the her favorite of the locations we have visited so far. Great local bookstore to support for those in the Saco & Biddeford area!

The way it was handled was unprofessional and disturbing to my daughters who were taking lessons there. Rosemary had been there for 7 years. I don't know how long Allie was there. These two women know horses and how to teach riding and grooming. It was a great place to go. It was comfortable, not snobby. They became friends quickly with our family. It was disturbing how this was handled. I am sorry that this had to happen and I won't be taking my daughters there. South Portland, Maine
