I found a book that interests me so purchased it and sat down to enjoy my coffee with it. Only thing I would change here is would be nice if a kitchen was attached and they could serve made to order items. I went early on a Saturday in hopes of a nice breakfast sandwich to go along with my coffee, but all I saw were prepackaged items. I ended up getting a chicken salad sandwich and chips which was good, just not what I would have chosen for breakfast lol

I thought, well then, I can buy a used book or two to gift as a holiday gift. I always want to support the underdog, especially a used bookstore just before the holidays. Well, I didn't find any book that I wanted to give to anyone as a holiday gift but I found a used CD audiobook (Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson) for just eight bucks! I have a CD player in my car. So glad that I happened to find this place!

I think it's like 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' for book readers. Just an amazing array of all kinds of books of literally every subject both old and rare to almost brand new. The owner Lee was lovely and introduced herself and we enjoyed a good chat about favorite books. Another thing that makes this space so special is the kitties who run the store... books and cats - I'm in heaven!

They had lots to choose from for children, women, men, household items and lots and lots of books. The store was a good size and tons of books were there for your choosing. I read through some of the other reviews and I want to set the record straight. Yes, it's inside a church but there is a separate entrance. Yes, there are Christian books but also other genres. Yes, the coffee is very affordable BECAUSE all the staff are volunteers. No one is getting paid and they LOVE what they do. All smiles and great service. The proceeds go to local and global missions of the church. Win, win all the way around. The place itself is very spacious. Two levels. The seating areas are comfortable and far enough apart you can have some semiprivacy if you need it. My friend who brought me says she comes here all the time to study (she's in college). All of the staff knew her by name. (love places like that) I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't really speak to the coffee (although my friend says it's pretty good). I am a tea drinker though and they have a variety of flavors, some refresher juice drinks, a few pastries. Please support. Every now and again if you're thinking of getting coffee or a pastry, choose them. Why not? Do some good for the community through others who are committed to giving back.

Whenever we visit cities outside our hometown area, we always look for bookstores ... used books…read moreor new. On this visit to Charlotte, NC we stopped in at the Book Rack. Besides a focus on mystery and thrillers, they really had most genres covered. Most of the books here ... and they claim tens of thousands of books ... are used, and are generally on consignment from somebody. So quality varies, and you might find two copies of something in very different conditions and at matching price points. That being said, the selection was exceptional and well worth investigating. The Book Rack had an especially large selection of kids books ... which was great for us. The only downside of some of these large holdings is that they aren't all classified and organized. Sometimes a certain genre will just be stacked in crates or boxes ... but don't let that dissuade you. There are treasures to be found here. If you like books and enjoy the hunt, this place is for you. Recommended.

I brought two books on house plants and planting in containers. I couldn't find any pies making or pound cakes baking books that were on my list but I emailed them to today to ask if any of these are available. They replied right away. Even though they didn't have the books I wanted. The customer service was great. They're willing to reserve these books if those come in. They had some mark downs on some books, the prices are a bit high compared to ordering off Amazon, but I love the fact that you can grab a book and read it, and no one bothers you. This alone makes it worth the price! I hate that this is so far from me, but will always make it a point to stop by when we're in the area.
