Great cards, beautiful gifts, cute agendas, darling wrapping paper! And the best pens in town. Oh how I love this place. They are lacking in card options. There aren't very many which is fine but the few they have should then be amazing and they aren't always fabulous! But everything else is great! The one lady (dark hair) is so sweet. I ordered custom delicate little stickers for my moms honey and they were so helpful. And they came and turned out soooo cute! Little round pale grey with delicate writing! She loved them. They carry really great brands and have beautiful leather agendas, glass desk accessories, writing paper, custom orders for invites of all kinds, wrapping paper, ribbons, decorations, and cute little gifts that are always changing to keep new fun and sometimes even local things at your fingertips. The one girl (young blonde) is snotty, but most of them are extremely friendly and kind. It's conveniently located on selwyn. I was telling a friend today of what a wonderful experience I had the other week at PaperTwist, and I realized I should put it in a review. Back in March (and it's January), my daughter and I went to PT to buy gifts and cards. We accidentally left the cards on the counter and due to circumstances we were not able to make it back in. So I called PT and asked them to hold the cards for me. Well... I forgot to pick them up. The next time I was in the store and remembered to mention it they said, Oh! You must be Mary Bryan. We didn't know how to get in touch with you so we've been holding your cards! ... Not only did they hold my cards, they remembered my name!!! First class! Beautiful store incredibly RUDE staff. Was waiting for service and when I heard her say "hello" I thought she was talking to us - but in fact it was the person that walked in behind us. When I turned around saying "oh Hi I have a question..." she said to me "Well, YOU will have to wait" and proceeded to spend 10 minutes helping the gentleman that walked in while another customer and we waited. I won't ever spend a dime here. Every other shop in the area they are friendly and so welcoming. read more

I was having no luck finding a great fine stationery store on Wednesday! :-( Paper Twist is newly opened. Their claim to fame is exotic, fine and expensive gift wrappings - paper, ribbon, etc. You can buy and do it your self or, bring your gift and they will do the work. I thought the range of wrappings displayed was disappointingly limited, given that this is their advertised specialty. If you have more in the back room, bring them out front! There is a small selection of greeting cards and of gift items. I found their selection of stationery and fine pens particularly wanting. They don't carry some of the bigger stationer names such as Crane's. And the only fine pen brand I saw was Lamy. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'll stop at Origami Ink before I'd come back here. read more

Staff is incredibly rude and the store is incredibly stuffy and bland. Staff is condescending and reticent unless they are familiar with you from their Meyers park social circles. Seriously, I would rather be stuck in a 3 hour holiday line at Michael's than deal with these people. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint. I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

A friend recently had some gorgeous gift tags on a shower gift and told me she'd gotten them at Paper Twist, so I went in on a Saturday to browse and see what they had. I went to this store just to browse, so I had no expectations or wish lists to fulfill. I had a great time browsing around, and unlike the other reviewers, thought that their selection of paper was decent. And the shopkeeper was very upfront about the fact that they had more in back, if I wanted to check it out. The staff was very friendly. They had a lot of pens when I was there, as well as a lot of office stuff (notebooks, pens, folders, planners). Some of the stuff is a little cheesy and useless, but some people are into that, right? It was fun to just wander around. I ended up buying some grocery bags for a friend and an organza flower headband/belt/thing. read more

We had planned to order our wedding invitations from an online retailer until we stopped by Paper Twist and took a peek at their options. We loved not only the array of invite choices, but were very pleasantly surprised to see the pricing was in line or better than the online retailers we researched. We were thrilled with the end result - our invites were beautiful and we received many compliments on the design. We also ordered personalized note cards and an embosser; both made for very sharp thank you notes we could also use for personal correspondence. I thought it was a good store. True it's a little crowded when there are only five people inside, but the store is marovlous. Some of it is a litte tacky, but some of it is tacky in good way. And people like me like cheesball stuff sometimes. I bought several things, but I found the paper was limited. They barely had half a wall of wraping paper. And if that's what people like most of the store, I think they should have more of it. Besides that the customer service was great. All of the employees greeted me and asked me if I needed help with anything. They were very kind, and didn't push me into buying things. Over all it's a nice store, and my kids absolutley adored it... but would I shop there again... maybe? read more

I was on my way to a shower didn't have the right wrapping paper, so I stopped by. I chose my paper and ribbon and they wrapped it for me while I waited. My gift was darling! Great location near South Park mall, yet without the hassle or commitment of going to the mall. I was in and out in just a few minutes. I'll definitely be back again. read more

This stationery store rocks!! By far, the best new stationery store I've seen in Charlotte for several years. I thought it had great southern flair with a modern, chic vibe. The selection was diverse, eclectic and fun, and also the customer service was top notch. Have been on three different occasions and each time received individualized attention and had all of my questions answered - very refreshing. Pricing was very fair, and it was a special treat to receive a complimentary wrap each time for my purchases. Will be doing most of my holiday shopping here. Love it! read more

I went there today too get a gift wrapped. There was only 1 sales person there so she said it will take about 30 minutes-no problem. So she helped me pick out some paper, wrote up the work order and gave me the price of $15. I told her I had an errand to run and would be back in 30 min. I offered to pay her before I left and she said just wait until you return. I came back in 45 minutes and my gift was still sitting on the table. Another sales person was there and she wrapped my gift. She brought the gift out it didn't even have a ribbon or bow on it. I informed her that the other sales person said it would have a gold or white bow. So she hurriedly put a piece of ribbon on it and makes a sloppy looking bow. Then she says that will be $25.91. I told her the price that the other sales person gave me and she said that was incorrect. After a minute or two discussion she came to the price of $20.91. This is unacceptable. When a person quotes you a price it should have been honored. It's just $5 but I do not like it when I am being robbed. I always try to support small businesses but this time it was a mistake. Next time I will go to Papyrus at South Park Mall. They have quality paper and the cost of the paper and wrapping the gift only costs about $8-$10. Also when they finish wrapping your gift it looks like a professional did it -not a do-it-yourself project! read more
