Eventually we called AAA to get the car towed and they came within an hour which was impressive Next on the agenda was to call an Uber to get us out of here. After roughly twelve attempts to call an Uber we found one. Our plan is to first Uber to Mill Valley and then try to catch something to S.F. While waiting we got some food here. The food was quite good. The fish tacos are very flavorful with excellent salsa. They had a robust menu of vegan options a the vegan chicken bowl is really good and ethically sourced to boot! They charge $5 extra for that and it wasnt very much. The "asada" was the tiny cubed type. You know the type you see in grocery stores? It tasted like meat that had been left in the fridge for a few days and reheated. So, if you like lettuce in a taco shell that has a few sprinkles of other things, then this $25 "taco" salad is for you. My 14 yr old is a better cook. We also ordered a bean a cheese burrito. He did say that was a kids burrito, so I said okay. I didn't know it was $12. The waffle fries were good. Someone we brought with us ordered those and shared. She said her other food item was dreadful. The other person said his food was not worth the $20ish he spent on his burrito either. We were hungry and didn't plan accordingly. Next time, we will. This place is your typical overpriced horrible food tourist trap place. Just come with food if you plan on visiting the beach. I feel bad for the people who actually live in this town and this is one of the veey limited options they have for eating out. Over the years, I haven't had one decent food place ranging from Stinson beach up to bodega bay. I'd gladly pay the prices if any of the food was actually good. This is about the food and not about the service. That's the 1 star because at least the staff was nice.

When she finally took my order, she forgot about it and came back later to ask if I had ordered. Eventually I got my drink, paid her in cash, and left a tip. She came back again asking me to pay. I reminded her that I had already paid cash (and hadn't received my change). This was the most attention I got over the 4 hour game. That said, the bartender wasn't too busy to serve the locals at the counter multiple times, chatting and laughing extensively with the regulars who were passing around homemade cupcakes or sharing plates of food they'd ordered from the Mexican restaurant next door. Everyone at the bar was super friendly, even though we were not regulars. It's a great place to pop in and chat. The smell when you first walk in confirms that it's been there for many decades! And you can get a game of pool going, if you want.

Honestly the best local-friendly-brilliant bartender I've been served by in a really long time. Everybody knows him, they come in for him and he knows everyone's drinks. My go-to shot, Casamigos Reposado, was given the "Mike Special" -- cinnamon and an orange slice. The best way to enjoy Casamigos, and quite brilliant! Also as a gay man, sometimes quite eccentric I found this to be one of the most inclusive bars in all of Marin. At least by the staff (Mike) and (most) of the locals. Thanks for the great time and vibes, will be back and back!

This was a nice way to spend a few hours. The space is neat. It's as small, somewhat dark ambiance with the windows blacked out. So, you do loose your sense of time a bit inside. That's actually nice as it feels like you went somewhere/somewhen else for a while. We had a Manhattan and a Kentucky Mule, and, additionally, we had three different shareable appetizers. First thought, we ordered and devoured a really exceptional cheese plate. I know cheese plates seem a little meh sometimes, but this was really good! I would absolutely order it again. In fact, I would definitely go there just to have the cheese plate again with a drink, a glass of wine. We also had the three tacos shareable. There were three tacos that were stunningly good. Lastly a dish with some little steak medallions and a shrimp. Each of these was about two bites and the flavor and texture was excellent. All three of the shareables and the drinks were exceptional. I have to call out that, with the cheese board, came a little loaf of bread. That bread was really good all on its own. I would definitely want to eat it. I can still taste it. It was really good, but my wife, she's gluten intolerant. They offered, because she couldn't eat the bread, they offered to also bring her out some gluten-free crackers, so she got to enjoy the cheese board just the same without the bread. They gave her the crackers, and do you know, they just gave her those extra. They didn't ask for something more. They didn't do anything. They just took care of her. I really appreciate that. I have to also give a shout out to the Jessica. I don't know how she did it, but she was taking care of the whole room of tables I think. Nice. We ordred all three shareables at the same time and she thoughtfully said, 'do you mind if I course these out for you?' We said yes and she did. I don't think anybody felt like they didn't have everything they needed, so a shout out to you, Jessica, really well done. We're grateful for the service and the high quality dining experience that you gave us on a moment's notice. I hope we can visit again soon. And, especially we want to check out The Boardroom soon. NOTE: This is in a kind of older looking strip mall. Don't be concerned about that at all! It threw us off a little at first and we did wonder when we pulled in though if we were in the right place. Happily, we were!

Ahhhhhhhh! To have a chance to talk about, "The Lodge" AKA Papermill Creek Saloon. My pop owned it once in the and sold it to the current owner. David renamed it and Vwala! A great place to have fun and enjoy some good times with friends or regs. This place has had lots of musicians over the years many whom have gone and their souls still linger. Although a bit pricey it is always a good time. Pool Tables(2) Juke Box with some of that Old time Rock and Roll Rhythm and Blues. This place has catered to Elvin Bishop, Grateful Dead Janis Joplin Van Morrison Sly and the Family Stone Jefferson Airlane and Huey Lewis. San Geronimo Valley's PMC Saloon,The Cream of the Country. Sky Blue Blues band has made more appearances than anyone. Way to Go Walt and Company. This place has history from old cowhands o the old western days to, Hells Angels of the 60's and 70's whom tore it up. But today, Just the place to be. It may be a dive but there's nothin wrong with that! This little gem is my favorite place to relax for a cold one and a game of pool. I had the pleasure of living close by and have spent many a Saturday night there.. The bartenders are more than welcoming, and on the right nights you can stumble across a free homemade meal and live music! When they don't have that I like to pick a good Stones song from their Internet jukebox and chit chat with the locals. It may not be the most exciting place on the planet, but it's perfect for just that reason. Old rustic bar great stop on your way out or back from the coast. They have a good selection of beers on tap and don't miss out on Debbi's Hot and Spicy chili and the hot dogs are out of this world, for those pool sharks there are 2 pool tables, also pinball machine. A saloon that has character and characters can't beat that not to mention that back in the good days the 60's and 70's maybe even the 80's Bob Weir, Janis Joplin, Luther Tucker, Elvin Bishop and many more... patronized this bar that was built in 1907 and became a bar in 1938 (give or take a year or 2)... stop by and check it out read more

Ok, so it'a dive-but a GREAT one. The building itself is over a century old. You can see the legendary bullet hole that any local will be happy to tell you the tale of and drink some suds out on the deck overlooking the Papermill Creek. There are pool tables, a pinball machine,jukebox and ATM. Local flavor makes this place what it is.....Come and check it out. There is even live music occasionally. read more

Anyways, the bar is open 4pm-11pm Wednesday-Sunday, closed on Monday - Tuesday. The drinks and tapas menu price points are of course pricey. But what was up with the stained paper menus. Eww. Anyways, the fam ordered drinks (cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks) and tapas of olives, hummus and pita, and fingerling potatoes. The olives were delicious and it was a good medley of various kinds. The fingerling potatoes were a bit boring tasting, it could use more seasonings for added zing. Not sure how the green hummus tasted, I snoozed on that one. Overall, the drinks are good, ambiance fantastic, and the food is meh. This is a type of place I would go for special occasions and not on a regular basis, my wallet cannot sustain it.
