** - Above and Beyond Customer Service**…read more I had a truly outstanding experience at Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach this Father's Day. I initially came in to purchase a 9-foot board I had my eye on. After deciding to buy it, I stepped out briefly to grab my son so he could help me load it into my truck. When I returned, the board was gone--needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I spoke with a salesperson named Dave, who explained that the board actually wasn't supposed to be on the sales floor--it had been custom-made for the shop and was pulled by the general manager and placed in an office. Even so, Dave didn't stop there. He took the time to listen to my situation and understand how much this meant to me, especially as it was intended to be my Father's Day gift. Dave went out of his way to help and connected me with the manager, Chip. Chip took things to the next level--he made calls to the general manager and even reached out to corporate to see if anything could be done. After about 45 minutes of effort, he came back with incredible news: they got approval to sell me the board. Neither Dave nor Chip had to go to those lengths, but they did--and that level of customer care is rare. They could have easily said no and moved on, but instead they went out of their way to make my day. As a local, I'll be out riding waves on this board and proudly telling this story. Ron Jon didn't just sell me a surfboard--they delivered an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Dave, Chip, and the corporate team for making my Father's Day!

Largest surf shop in the world at 52,000 square feet of cool, rad, and gnarly, awesome things (shirts, jewelry, swim wear, accessories, beauty products, home decor, surf boards, rash guards, sunglasses, etc). If you can walk out without buying a shirt, keychain or sticker, I would either be impressed, or think something was wrong with you. Free parking (time limit) in the back of the shop. Long arse lines at all the registers, but that's a testament to how popular this place is. My husband who is an (ex-)surfer, totally loved this shop. He said visiting this store was one of the highlights of the trip.

Pretty much everything is under $20, which makes it perfect for souvenirs and impulse buys you won't regret. They have a great selection of shirts, sweaters, and super cute bathing suits, plus all the classic Florida goodies--trinkets, stickers, candy, and of course, taffy. It's the kind of place where you walk in "just to look" and walk out with a bag full of stuff. Great prices, fun vibes, and lots of options to bring a little piece of Florida back home. Highly recommend stopping in anytime you're nearby!

I was friendly and respectful when I approached her, but instead of receiving the same courtesy, she responded, "For a woman or a man?" in a rude and dismissive tone. I want to be clear that the question itself was not necessarily the issue--it was the attitude and tone behind it. As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, the way the question was asked made me feel uncomfortable and judged. I should be able to ask where swim trunks are located without feeling as though my appearance or identity is being questioned or treated disrespectfully. I was nothing but nice during the interaction, so I was disappointed to receive that type of response from an employee. Had she simply asked the question politely or directed me to the appropriate section, there would have been no issue. Every customer deserves to feel welcome and respected while shopping, regardless of their appearance, gender expression, or identity. Customer service is not only about answering a question--it is also about how you make the customer feel. Unfortunately, this interaction made me feel unwelcome and left a very negative impression of my experience at the store. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses the importance of treating all customers with courtesy, professionalism, and respect, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.

If I had a question, I was either "helped" with an annoyed monotone or a stifled laugh because... I don't know, I guess not knowing the name of certain cables and attachments makes me a plebeian fool? I avoided coming to this place like the plague for the longest time, but decided to return for curiosity's sake after learning that the previous staff had been replaced. Ever since the place changed owners, I can tell that they've had them focusing on making a more pleasant customer service experience. The weekend staff is so friendly and full of energy (I'm talking about YOU, Daniel), the shelves are always full and neat (except for the game guides. Most are well-used, so they unfortunately look like a frayed mess), and their selection is so wide, they even have some room for collectible goodies. The prices are a little rough, but they do try their best to price below GameStop for newer titles. I thought the retro games were pretty costly, but honestly, it's usually close to the cost as if I were to get them on eBay and include shipping. Can't really fault them for that if they're trying to make a profit. If there's anything close to negative I have to say, it's probably that the place is getting a little too popular again? Because there are so many people coming in, having only two people running front desk at a time leaves the risk of customers waiting a long time for a simple transaction, since they also handle repairs and the like. Maybe have someone who doesn't run a register that goes around answering questions? Not sure, but I do get sad when I see somebody who has been waiting in line just sigh and walk off because front desk is still working on testing a traded-in console. I wish them the best and hope they grow enough to hire more staff!
