You def get what you pay for, this salon is literally the most consistent one that can do designs, whatever you need (no matter who you get, everyone is really great). I don't have a specific person that's done my gel X but this time I got Charlie. He's so nice and will make sure your nails look good with whatever request. To be honest, I've never had THIS PERFECT of a shape before - I can tell why he is highly requested. This salon in general is literally the best, that's why even if I request someone and they're a little busy that day, I don't get upset if they offer someone different to do my nails. Everyone is very talented, accommodating, and detailed. I've seen some pretentious customers be super nasty and rude to staff in public. All I can say is this salon holds itself to a high standard, and those people are probably either bitter inside, entitled, or both! From the time of this review been coming here for about 7-8 months. I was a bit skeptical about coming here because some reviews and photos seemed too good to be true. I used to go to another place, but was desperate for a mani/pedi and decided to do a walk-in here. I had no complaints about my first visit, so I came a 2nd and 3rd time until I met Charlie. The first few visits I wanted to try different techs to see which one I liked. They're all good at what they do so no complaint about the quality and time they spend on you. Even on their busiest days, they don't rush but somehow get the job done timely. So back to Charlie. The last 3x he's done my nails has been a vibe. I have natural long nails and ask for builder gel. His work is top notch because it takes about a month to month and a half before I come back. The builder gel does not lift or break. On top of that, Charlie is open to the elaborate designs I show him. I always tell him it doesn't have to be exactly like the photo and that he can freehand it if needed. My last visit exceeded my expectations! Whether you see Charlie or any of the other techs, they're all great at their job and will be honest/up front if they can do the design and will let you know the cost so there's no surprises when it's time to pay. THIRD UPDATE: Van, the business owner, privately reached out to me to make things right. I appreciate her taking the time to apologize and try to fix things as best she could. She kindly offered a full refund and assured me that she will speak with her staff to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. The one star rating is due to my infection and the pain and trouble it has caused me, however her customer service is 5 stars. I will return especially knowing that Van cares about all her customers and that her staff will be retrained to ensure this never happens again! Thank you Van! SECOND UPDATE: I had to go to urgent care this morning and the doctor confirmed that I have a paronychia from the nail tech cutting my cuticle too deep and from using unsterilized tools. I now have to be a on a 7 day course of antibiotics. This is very upsetting as I am a breastfeeding mother of a 3 month old and I paid 70 dollars for a pedicure to get some much needed relaxation. but ended up paying for a nasty infection. I am upset with my most recent visit to Papillon. I came here almost 3 weeks ago and got my usual gel pedicure and dip powder manicure. The lady doing my pedicure took a chunk out of the side of my toe when removing my callus (which I didn't even have much of). She was overly rough and I did not stop bleeding for the entire duration of my appointment. Not only that, she cut my toe cuticle and I developed an infection that has been bothering me for 3 weeks now. She did not offer me a discount or anything. And to make matters worse, she followed me to the front counter where she demanded I Venmo her for a tip... unbelievable. I pay 120 BEFORE tip every time. Super clean but a little pricey was sad last time because I didn't expect to pay this much for a gel set. $91 I was taken back since it said only only $65 I wasn't sure were the other $26 came from. I came here with my friend to get our gel/gel x nails removed (and no manicure, we just wanted to go back to our natural nails). We were seated pretty quickly after our appointment, and the salon around us was clean and professional. Unfortunately, my nail tech didn't leave the acetone on long enough and there was a lot of gel polish left on my nails (I had 3D nails on a couple of my fingers and there were huge chunks of the polish left over). I told the nail tech, but she said it was gel residue and left me. Thankfully, my friend's nail tech looked at my hand and immediately knew it was polish that still needed to be removed, so she fixed it for me. She even put a nail strengthening coat on my fingers after she finished and apologized for the first mishap. I can't speak to the quality of the nails since we didn't get our nails done, but I will say that I appreciated the staff working to fix my situation and it was a good price. My husband and I were in the mood for pedicures. He had one earlier elsewhere that wasn't great, so while sipping our morning coffee at Starbucks, we decided to try Papillon. We called and luckily they had availability, so we walked over. When we arrived, all the technicians were busy--a great sign that they have loyal clientele. My husband got the Get Fresh Pedicure with Mimi, and she did an amazing job. I went with the Signature Pedicure, and it was worth every penny! It included a 10-minute foot and leg massage, and the callus removal actually worked--not just a quick scrub with a pumice stone like other places. Cindy was my technician--super friendly, didn't rush me when picking a color, and even gave great recommendations. You might find cheaper pedicures, but this was a perfect example of "you get what you pay for." Quality service, relaxing atmosphere, and real results. First time here and LAST time I'm ever coming back. My experience was terrible. I showed my nail tech named Kent inspo photos for the nail style I want but it came out ugly, bulky, and short. He could not get the right color and length. I felt like he rushed and made me feel uncomfortable when I spoke up I didn't like the color swatch and just picked one out quickly he thought looked like the inspo pic. My mistake was being too nice and saying it looks fine at the nail salon. I regretted it and called back 10mins later. The owner answered and was not understanding and blamed me for not letting her know before I left. (Even though I called right when I got home when I was able to examine it better) I explained I had a big event and she was dismissive, not apologetic, rude, and gaslit me. I asked if they would fix it and she said they are full the rest of the day and they would charge me to fix it if I came back the following day. I showed my friends and they all said it looks bad and nothing like the inspo picture I showed. Also, they are rude and gossip about you in Vietnamese. I can understand and they talk about customers in front of them. Very unprofessional. I will never go back or recommend anyone I know. This is the worst service I experienced at a nail salon. I read the more recent reviews and decided to make an appointment with Hanna based on all of the good feedback and I'm so happy I did! My appt was confirmed for Gel X full set at 11:00am. I arrived 5 minutes early and was sat at an empty station and I was greeted by Hanna a couple minutes past 11:00. She was very nice and accommodating. She made sure to ask how I wanted my shape, what color, etc. I showed her an example of what I'd like and she took it from there! My appt lasted about 40 minutes. We had nice conversation and she was just overall good energy. I'm so happy I gave it another go here. I will definitely be back to see Hanna. Shayla is the absolute BEST! she always takes her time in making sure the service is of the best quality and what I love most is that she honestly doesnt rush things. Update: I had been here twice previously and they had done a great job. That was not the case this time. I had an appointment time and was waiting for 40 minutes for them to start on my nails. The staff was kind, and apologized for the inconvenience and I would not have minded if the nails I just paid $80 for... yes $80 for TWO nails to break off in a matter of 4 days... I was on vacation relaxing (not doing anything intensive that should have caused this issue) I'm upset I paid $80 to wait 40 minutes for mediocre work. Unacceptable. read more

so I came here a few weeks ago very first time, and I got a set of gel x and a design. I showed him a picture of the design that was on their page, and it was not what I asked for, and he tried to say that it was because my nails were too short, but I don't believe that to be true because my nails are pretty freaking long long story short is I would've never came back here because I did not like my set and I wasn't going to write a review because it wasn't worth it. However, a nail broke shortly after I got my nails done so I went back to get it fixed the lady who did my nails was super rude and wanted nothing to do with me like she was miserable. I was trying to be nice and I literally joked with my friend and said oh this lady wants absolutely nothing to do with me well today another nail broke so I went back to get it fixed. I'm leaving tomorrow for a bachelorette party and I needed to get it fixed because it just broke 20 minutes ago and they didn't have time ... it took the women 5 mins to fix the last one the best part of this was when I walked in the lady asked me what I needed and then goes oh a full set okay like they had time for that and when I said oh really just I need this one fixed and then they start talking in another language and all of a sudden they didn't have time I would not recommend this place on customer service and the quality of the nails clearly they break and do not last read more

I hate to do this because I have honestly always enjoyed the service I've received from this salon. I typically come in to get a pedicure done. I've only gotten my nails done a handful of times (always gelx). I want to start with first I came in on the 9th. I paid $145 plus tip for both my pedicure and manicure. I chose the $35 pedicure which i then asked for them to do French tip with gel polish. They let me know it would be an extra $15 so i from what i think my total of pedicure would have been $55. So meaning $90 for a medium gel x French chrome design. I had no problem with the price. My problem was the lack of detail. Kent who did my nails only cut one nail, didn't cut my cuticles or anything. I left a bit upset about that. Now I have had to come back to the salon twice within a week to fix popped off nails. The first one popped off on the 15th not even a week after I got my nails done. I called to book so that I may get it fixed and they didn't have an early opening till the 19th. Now 2 days later I had to come back over to get another popped off nail fixed. In this image the one with the red circle is the "fixed" one from today which you can see that the polish wasn't properly applied because I can see my natural nail and You can see in the image that it is much more sheer than the others since there was only one base coat applied. This is the second time I've been to Papillon, and both experiences have been great! The first time the nail tech told me I should try gel x instead of acrylics, and I was so happy I did! They lasted an entire month without any damage or chips in the polish. I bartend, and am not very gentle with my hands, so for anything to last that long on me was amazing. So naturally, I went back again and got gel x but with a Halloween inspired design. I wish I knew the techs name, but she did such a good job. I love my nails! This place is a complete joke! I made an appointment for a gel manicure at 6 pm, but when I showed up, no technician was available. Seriously? What's the point of making an appointment then? Some random guy from the front decided to take me and sat me in a pedicure spot because they had no space. Totally unorganized and unprofessional from the start. He didn't even bother to ask how I wanted my nails shaped after filing--just did whatever he wanted. When I pointed out that my thumbnail looked off and asked him to fix it, he straight-up said he couldn't because he didn't know how to use builder gel. Are you kidding me? Every other salon I've been to just uses a regular base gel to level the curve of my natural nail--how is this place so clueless? To top it off, the gel color was all over my skin, and it looked so sloppy. I absolutely HATE how my nails turned out. And the front staff? Rude as hell. They didn't even acknowledge me when I arrived. On top of that, it's like they think it's okay to sit around talking trash about customers in their language. The way I understood the reasoning is b/c if you want the gel, it also includes other treatments (which obviously cost more).
