Absolutely delicious pizza. And Zoe and her crew are terrific. If you have an event, these are the people to call.

Relaxing and delicious, with plenty of free parking…read more When I heard the family that owns Guante's Family Restaurant in Mifflintown was opening a café/coffee shop just outside of town, I knew it would be a top-notch establishment. We finally were able to visit this past weekend and were very impressed with the relaxing openness of the café and the delicious specialty coffees being served. One of the main frustrations with visiting the GFR in town was the lack of public parking, but the new café has a huge private parking lot to accommodate all their customers. Upon entering the café, there are multiple seating areas from tables, chairs, and benches, to couches and low tables. The variety enables the customer to choose what type of experience they would like to enjoy and due to the large space, everyone can be spread out and not cramped with others. The interior is locally decorated and features various craft items from around the area. Now to the coffee! DELICIOUS! They are using Little Amps' beans, which is my favorite coffee shop in HBG! With a base of Little Amps beans the drinks can only get better from there. They have a nice variety of specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, and non-caffeinated options. On this visit we tried the Mocha La Abuelita, which was out of this world. It was a mocha, but used Mexican chocolate, that adds a unique flavor when combined with the cinnamon and expresso. My mouth is watering as I type this! They do have a limited food menu of a variety of paninis and regularly feature homemade baked goods from local artisan bakers. Guante Café fills a void in the Juniata county area for those who want high quality coffees in a relaxing environment. They are even open on Sundays!! I look forward to see what the future will bring with this amazing new place!

Yes I drank both that was after my cup of joe at home and ones with breakfast at the sunset west diner up the road. Oh and yes the one had a double shot of expresso in it don't judge it was a long 8 hr work week and late night with MLB openers on the left coast . Yes please I'll have the Ohtani with my Trout ( sorry wrong group ). The set up is not conventional, with the pick up window in the back yard (rear of the building ) Unfortunately I chose the day after a significant rain and obviously did not plan for the off the beaten path pick up situation ( I was wearing my new kicks ! ( hoka ) This is the only reason I docked the joint one star. Please support this business so they can get a landscape makeover. Pea size gravel , crushed stone , pavers , a ramp anything would Bee an upgrade to mushy grass. The coffee with 2 shots in it was my favorite, but the dark bourbon with whole milk was a close second!

Happy Valley BBQ used to work with Clem and is cordial with him (I think). If you like midwest/kansas city BBQ, it is a thick sauced bbq. it is very good. the ribs are great, the country ribs are great (but slightly less great), the pulled pork is pretty good, the chicken is pretty good (but less great), the sides are all good to great (but the macroni salad used to be crazy good, now it's just good). they move around. check the facebook site for hours. they cater, a lot and well. They sometime appear at Meyer's Dairy in state college, and currently are by the Bellefonte highschool. I hope to be back again and again. This is a gem and deserves to be found. He also needs to settle down and have a restaurant, but he seems better at BBQ than at management (somehow, he seems like he would be great as a manager too). Perhaps he prefers front of house. WooHooo! as good as it gets! He can't hit the consistency to be in the le Guide Michelin, but the food quality for what it proposes to be, is that good. Service is Clem, what could be better? ps Clem, remember that poor, late, lost guy who showed up after you were closed but before I99 went in, and you gave a huge sample to because you were too lazy to charge him (or kind)? And you thought he would clean the pan instead of you having to clean the pan? Well I ate that for two meals and this is just payback baby.
