The lunch specials are very good and reasonably priced. Salads are fresh! The cookies are very rich! This pizza is unique to Columbia and does not fit the Greek or prolific writer mold. aEvery time I've been to Pappo's Pizzeria & Pub, it's been an amazing experience. The service is always fast and friendly, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. It's the kind of place that's perfect for grabbing dinner with friends or family and just enjoying some really good food. The wings are absolutely phenomenal. I've tried every flavor they offer, and my two favorites are easily the Buffalo and the Apple Bourbon. The Buffalo has an incredible buffalo flavor without being overly spicy, making it easy to enjoy even if you don't love heat. The Apple Bourbon is the complete opposite in the best way, bringing a subtle sweetness that makes for a great change of pace. The wings are always cooked to perfection with crispy skin and juicy meat, and they have a texture that I just can't seem to replicate at home. They're on the pricier side, but they're absolutely worth it. I've also tried both the Pepperoni Pizza and The Delicious, and both are outstanding. Sometimes a simple pepperoni pizza tells you everything you need to know about a pizza place, and Pappo's nails it. The homemade sauce, quality cheese, perfectly cooked crust, and seasoning all come together to make an exceptional pizza. The Delicious is exactly that, delicious. It's the pie contest winner for a reason. The combination of pesto sauce, shredded mozzarella, provolone, blackened chicken, caramelized onions, and fresh minced garlic creates one of the most flavorful pizzas I've had. Every ingredient tastes fresh, and you can really tell they don't cut corners on quality. I also have to mention the cookies because they are genuinely some of the best I've ever had. The fact that they're made with brown butter immediately sets them apart from your average chocolate chip cookie. They have the perfect outer structure, but the second you bite into one, the warm chocolate just oozes out. The brown butter adds a rich, nutty depth of flavor, and they're finished with just the right amount of flaky sea salt to balance the sweetness. Every bite is a literal party in your mouth. If you leave Pappo's without getting a cookie, you're seriously missing out. While Pappo's is definitely on the pricier side (which is why its 4 and not 5 stars), though I've never once left feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. The consistency, quality, service, and atmosphere keep me coming back, and it's easily one of my favorite pizza spots around. read more

THE BEST!!! I'm a convert. Tried this pizzeria out as an alternative to Shakespeare's (nearby), due to long wait there. I'm sure glad we did! Service was great. The house salad was truly one of the best (THE best?) pizzeria salad we've ever had!!! Yum. Pizza was FANTASTIC. We also enjoyed the toasted ravs (their red sauce for dipping reminds us of my mother-in-law's Sunday gravy). And despite being full, we miraculously saved room for the warm chocolate chip cookies (which were made with browned butter, Ghirardelli chocolate chips, and a sprinkling of salt). Cannot wait to go back...and I'm excited to try other convenient locations across MO. I think our server was Crystal, who was very helpful and friendly. Pappo's is worth stopping by!!! I like that it's located outside of downtown for a change of scenery. Perfect place to go sit down with family or friends for a casual lunch or dinner. They have lots of options for toppings, different sauces & a lot of combinations they created on their own. They also have a create your own option if you don't like any of the combos they came up with. All the pizzas and salads we ordered were delish, no complaints!!!! If you've been to Shakes & Pizza tree I would say their crust is a little thicker than both of these places (at least on my mini 8 inch pizza I ordered). I was a fan of this & didn't mind the thickness at all. They also have a "St. Louis style thin" option if you prefer. Along with pizza & salad they have a loooonggg list if beer they serve and the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. Definitely bring some home with you, they're so good. We came on a busy Friday and expected a wait. When I went in to request a table the gentleman took my name and phone number and said he would text me in about 20 min. After 30 minutes I went back into check on the table and the same guy acted like he had no idea who I was and couldn't find me on the list. After a few minutes he said oh let me check on a table for you. After being seated it took a few minutes for our server. We quickly placed our order. When the food arrived ummmmm it was definitely not house made chips. It looked like they literally opened up a small bag of chips and poured them in a dish. Got takeout from here, the order was done super quickly. Called the number on the curbside pickup parking spot sign to get order, not very friendly on the phone or on drop off. The caesar salad was great, the cheesy bread tasted like you used 1/4 of a cup of low fat mozzarella cheese on a $1 italian loaf of bread from Walmart and then cut it in half and that's what we got. The caprese salad was INSANELY TERRIBLE, the ingredients themselves were fine (i didn't like the balsamic but maybe i just don't like balsamic) but the container was literally damn near empty. And i took this picture before having even a bite. There was literally nothing in this salad. 5 pieces of basil and tomatoes literally wtf it was $13 !!!!!!! When the waitress took our order she asked if we wanted hand-tossed or thick crust, I responded thick crust please. The pizza we were served was thin crust, frozen pizza quality. It was even served on round cardboard. When asking the server about the order she said she heard thin crust. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that she didn't charge us for the pizza. This spot wasn't too far from Mizzou's campus. This was a popping spot and we weren't able to be seated anywhere besides the bar area. The bartender took a while to bring water and ask for our food/drink order. Upon arrival, I asked for a glass of wine. He proceeded to ask if my ID was fake and asked if my co-worker was also from Texas. We thought he was joking at first until he continued to question my ID. We ordered two pizzas, two salads, and an appetizer. Unfortuenly, they didn't bring one of the salads and the appetizer. We reminded him about the salad and didn't worry about the appetizer. The Pappo's house salad's homemade balsamic vinaigrette Italian dressing was bright and delicious, as were the artichoke hearts and red peppers. We also shared Joan's meatballs and a thin crust apple bourbon pulled pork pizza. The meatballs were full of meat, not filler, and cooked through yet moist. I did not see this coming. A pizza joint in Columbia even better than Shakespeare's, which my wife and I have since the mid-1970's considered the gold standard for pizza anywhere on Planet Earth. Our server Colin and the restaurant's GM Carlos were at our service like Texaco attendants, the craft brews were excellent and the food is nothing short of sublime. All those glowing recs were spot on. We'll still be hitting up Shakespeare's (which we still love dearly), but there's a new sheriff in town and the pizzas and calzones from PaPPo's are the stuff of night sweats. Contrary to the flavor being bland, the biggest con was the whole garlic cloves on my White Pizza. I love Garlic, but I don't want to eat a whole clove in one bite. I would advise arriving by 5:30 on a Friday if you want to get seated right away. For a new establishment, this place is already popular! The food is great, the beer is cold and they offer a lot of craft specialty beers. The servers are friendly. I ordered a personal size 8 inch pizza with hand tossed crust. The Hawaiian pizza has the usual Canadian bacon, pineapple bits, and extra cheese. I opted out of the extra mozzarella cheese and asked for jalapeños on top. Oh my gosh, this is the pizza joint to hit up in Columbia, MO! The service was awesome and their beer selection was sizable! And who doesn't like beer and pizza??? We came in on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. I ordered the 14" hand tossed with pepperoni. It came out in a very reasonable time and was hot and fresh. I really wanted to like this pizza but sadly I was disappointed with its very plain taste. Nothing made it any different than what you would find at pizza hut, little Caesars or papa murphy's. Maybe some of their other food might be good but I wouldn't recommend eating here based on what I got. read more
