So I was to tired to thirsty and way to hungry to waste a moment to take a picture but here goes…read more Now, if you've ever found yourself wandering through Waynesville with a hollow leg and a thirst that'd make a camel quit, you could do a whole lot worse than pulling up a chair at Hopper's Pub. It's the kind of joint where the atmosphere is thicker than a Sunday morning fog and the hospitality is warmer than a radiator in July. Since we're right there in the shadow of the fort, you'll find yourself rubbing elbows with all sorts of folks. They say you ought to eat where the locals eat, but in a military town, "local" is a relative term--most everybody there is from somewhere else, and they're all just passing through on Uncle Sam's dime. But at Hopper's, for an hour or two, everybody's treated like they grew up right down the street. If f you're looking for a cold beer, Hopper's has their own house brew on tap that's colder than a mother-in-law's stare. It's a sports bar in the truest sense--wall-to-wall TV screens making sure you don't miss a single down or a checkered flag. When there's a car show in town or a big game on, the place gets livelier than a porch dog with a new bone. Speaking of dogs there is a semi-permanent guest that stops by name of Norman. Pet him and you will have a friend for life. They aren't feeding birds here, friend. We're talking Burgers and fries of with tons of flavor. Sliders, cheesesteaks and wings, make sure you got extra napkins. I am not sure why but I think he also have vegetarian options. The staff is politer than a deacon on Sunday. They're attentive, friendly, and they treat travelers like they've lived in Waynesville their whole lives. Keep in mind they are pumping out a ton of adult beverages and food. A cold beer and a good burger are worth a five minute wait. Whether you're just passing through or you're a "local" who's only been in town since your last PCS, Hopper's is a solid bet for a good time and a full belly. It's family-friendly, high-energy, and highly recommended. And if you happen to be there when they break out the Bingo, hold onto your hat. They've got a unique set of calls and responses that'll frighten and amaze you the first time you hear 'em--it's somewhere between a drill sergeant's cadence and a tent revival, and it's worth the price of admission just to witness the spectacle.

Really fun place. Just walked in and they are playing free Bingo and handing out raffles. Won…read moresome free cookies in the raffle. Ordered something different. The buffalo Mac and cheese and a pretzel w/ cheese sauce. Honestly the food was not the best, but the atmosphere was great and fun. If I can back here, I'd spend a Monday evening here again and try something else. I appreciated the novelty of the restaurant and fun crowd.

Saw some good reviews of this place on Yelp while I was in Jeff City for work. So glad I went…read more Super cool building and bar. 1864 I think. Parked on street saw they had a busy beer garden out back but only went to the bar. Got bangers and mash. It was awesome. Two big brats, kraut, onion gravy. Like 2 lbs of mashed potatoes and huge portion of mushy peas. All of it was awesome. Got a cup of chili it was very good as well. Paired with a black and tan and noticed they had a great selection of Irish beers. Bartenders were nice and personable. Service was good and quick and would highly reccomend it to anyone. Planned to go back for fish and chips but ended up eating at my hotel which was a mistake. Be back in August so I'll be back again!

If you have…read moreever been to Ireland you'll know that the sketchier a pub looks on the outside the better it is inside. This hold true here. Plain brick front, doors with multiple locks on them. But, inside you'll find a warm friendly bar, a basic restaurant area off to the side, very friendly staff and excellent food. You can sit and enjoy a fresh poured Irish beer out of a tap, excellent Irish pub food all while browsing through one of the Irish books on a shelf in the restaurant. Since we only live 90 minutes away from here we will definitely be back now we have found this place.

We were warned that because they were so busy that the kitchen was backed up and we would have a longer than normal wait for our food, but that didn't bother us as we were enjoying an evening out and had had a pretty big lunch earlier in the day, so we weren't starving. It wasn't an exceptionally long time before our food was brought out. My husband had the bacon jam salmon over garlic mash and I had the bruschetta chicken with rosemary fingerlings. Both meals were incredible. It's hard to believe that this unassuming little restaurant in Warsaw had better food than most of the high-end places we've eaten at in Kansas City and other cities. The presentation was beautiful as well. Christian, our server, was polite and attentive. Two Michelin-star quality entrees w/sides, two glasses of wine, and incredibly all for well under $100 including a 25% tip. I highly recommend The Landing for anyone looking for great food in Warsaw. If/when we take another lake trip, we'll be back. We've even discussed that this might be worth a special trip from KC just for a meal alone! Yes, it's that good that we'd actually consider a nearly 4 hour round trip to come back!

I'd come back just for that. This was our first time so maybe just a one off bad experience?
